Can't believe some of the comments putting Utd. down. Some would only be happy if we had won 10-0 and hadn't conceded a shot on target. So Burnley were poor? In the post SAF era we're more than capable of finding a way to lose against anyone, especially away at Burnley. Only 2 nil, Pogba missed a penalty and Rashford sent off? I can't believe Mourinho doesn't walk out after that.
All the hate on Big Rom too. By now, if you can't accept that he will miss more than his fair share then don't bother watching. He's what we have, for better or worse, so we might as well support him. Why not focus on the two he scored and be satisfied.

second half was a mess. Burnley were lethargic until that last 20-25 minutes or so but have to give credit to the squad for the good first half and not just sitting back in the second. tons of chances they should have converted. Never been the biggest fan of playing Fellaini so deep as I think he is most effective the closer he is to the opponents box but he was excellent in his role today. Something to build on going into the break.
That was Graeme Le Saux, who normally is a good co-commentator for NBC. That comment, though, was him clutching at straws to blame Mourinho for Rashford's lack of linear progression.
I feel the same as you do about Rashford: he's trying way too hard to do everything possible. He needs to focus on doing the simpler things consistently before trying to be impressive.

Lindelof is absolutely not ready for the Premier League, he got bullied today and will get eaten alive by a Diego Costa type or even Deeney.
I get that hes in the team for his passing but he didn't play it past the front line once today. Bailly is far stronger defensively and can still play 5 yard passes to the midfielder next to him.

Well said. While I am a newbie here I am surprised how negative some supporters/posters seem to be.
The reality is that we are some way behind City. Never the less I have no doubt that Jose Mourinho and most of the team are trying their best to close that gap (most but not all).
Yes the Brighton performance was terrible and the Spurs result was a shock. However, genuine supporters will always back their team and we all need to get behind them:when things are not going well.
We all want them to win every game AND play outstanding football but this team is your Manchester United. By all means criticise poor performance but also give them credit for bouncing back and winning a difficult away game.
TBF he's 25 and have been playing football since he was 16, like Rooney. I think this is already his peak and his decline may be similar to Rooney on approaching 30. He's all about his physicality and pace.

Didn't create an awful lot though in the first half. Second half we created more but Lukaku's finishing let us down and then Rashford being a dickhead just killed the game.
Pogba should be fined for that awful run up because it was inevitable it wouldn't last long until someone saved a penalty by reading it.

The fact that you feel the only way to be a 'genuine' supporter is to blindly get behind them regardless of what happens on the pitch is enough to disregard your opinion.
Everybody sees things through a different lens from everyone else and we all have genuine love for something even if we're criticising it, rightly or wrongly for perceived problems.
Some people are naturally positive, some are negative, often it's a direct result of what's going on in the rest of their lives.
But TOP REDS™ don't do that and have to tell other people how they should support the club so...

We were solid. Burnley are about as bad a team as we'll face this season looking at that performance from them. But then, maybe we made them look that bad? I don't know. Lukaku was great. However, he should have finished at least one of those 1v1's. Pogba was fantastic. Sanchez was much improved and Lingard got into good positions but is still too inconsistent in his finishing to hold down that right wing spot as his own. Lindelof was good, I noticed him more than Smalling, Valencia had a decent game and Shaw continued his solid 7/10 performances.
I think we've been missing Matic badly. He does a lot of stuff that people don't notice, such as organising the defence and telling people where to mark and cover. Overall it was a refreshing game to watch as it proved we do actually know how to play football.

We were playing against (what currently seems to be) a relegation side, so I won't get my hopes up too much. The win today was so essential, however, if only it was to restore some team confidence.

Pogba needs to stop that run up. I’m one of his biggest fans, but that run up is properly disgusting, and it was always gonna backfire on him one day. Thankfully it was today and not in a more decisive game.

Alexis was better. We need more of this from him. Happy with his performance today.

One on ones are supposed to be a striker’s bread and butter, but when he gets one I more expect him to not score than to score. I’ve said it before, but I can see this coming to haunt us in a more consequential match. You could argue it already has haunted us in the past few games. He’s been in and around a professional level since he’s been a 16 year old. That’s almost a decade of professional football, we shouldn’t still need to talk about hoping his finishing improves. For comparison to someone else who was around since such a young age, our very own Rooney, at the equivalent age to Lukaku Rooney was having that season where he seemed to score every game, and was our talisman post Ronaldo.
Lingard’s movement, as usual, is the best of all the players in our squad.

Obviously whenever teams beat them it is despite the fact that they are sensational but the brilliance of pep, Klopp and Poch are just that ingenious.

Truth is Burnley were no match for us. We were superior to them all over the pitch.
What frustrates me is that we should be ruthless and we should bury chances like the ones Lukaku had for his hat trick. That's exactly what cost us the Spurs game.
He's been a great "commander" and a obedient hard worker, yet I am still waiting to see him in the role of prolific, ruthless goalscorer.
Pogba's miss and Rashford's red card - these were one off, so they don't bother me. Lukaku's constant donkeyness in front of goal is getting worrisome.
Good performance. The pressure was on and the team delivered.
But he won duels numerous times. Do you actually think a defender wins all of his duels against a big tank like Wood, Barnes or Vokes? And when they all three where on at the same time?
It's down to the player to do the work.
I thought he was fine today anyway. Being too weak physically is a problem for him, but his bigger problem is mentally going to pieces every time a team gets in our faces. He's the worst of our centrebacks for it, and they ALL suffer from it to a degree.

There was a lot of nonsense from the pair of them. Conveniently ignoring that Bardsley should have been given a red card...And if you watch it live in pretty sure pushed his head back into Rashford anyway. Somehow thinking the ref had awarded a penalty when he gave a goal kick. At one point they kept calling Smalling "Lindelof"...I mean an easy mistake, apart from the difference in size, height, completely different hair, skin colour, general physical appearance, giant name and number printed on his back. Etc...
The "worst start since 1993" lie got another airing too.
Surprised Bardsley and Mee finished the match without a red. Ref was not good in the second half.
The Jorginho comment seemed very odd.
