Post-match discussion

3 best United players today:

1) De Ligt
2) Maguire
3) Bruno

3 worst United players today:
1) Ugarte
2) Onana
3) Yoro.

Who didn't see that coming?

Was so predictable, the optimistic spiel before the game just sounded like the naive belief of characters who are onscreen just to die in the movies.

We're a shambles.

Up there with the worst of the last two seasons. Not one shot on target from open play

Keeper didn’t make a save.

I dream of a time when absolutely average teams like Brighton fear coming to OT again. More than the 0-7s against the likes of Liverpool, it is the results the mid-table teams get against United that makes me furious.

Brighton roll up to Old Trafford now and expect to not only beat us, but outplay us. No matter the system.

That's where we are anyway.

We've been for a while. They have won 6 of their last 7 games against us. Yet a ton of people on here are so entitled that they still expect us to beat them comfortably.

Give Amorim time, a few players that at least are committed to the club and let hem build it from the ground up.

Half the caf can bore off. Not sacking Ten Hag in May was a diabolical decision.

Amorim has no chance coming in mid-season with this group of players.

Another fecking L, this is abysmal to be honest... Cant look at the bright side today

Every single goddamned game Dalot gets more touches on the left in the opposition half than Amad does on the right.

Dalot is our motherfecking out ball on transition. Feck me.

A very poor showing second half but big shout out to our keeper costing us a point with his errors for two goals. Just add it to the collection of shite he’s served up since day one.

Well that was shite. Amazing the players have approached these post Liverpool/Arsenal games exactly in the way they were previously criticised. Game raising twats.

All the players after the Arsenal game giving it the big one about needing to play like that every game. Less than 7 days later we limp against bottom of the league and should have lost. And now lose yet another home game.

If the club doesn’t sign anyone this window it’s like they want us to fail. Help the manager out ffs. If no players have been signed Amorin needs to try something else until the end of the season. I know he won’t.

I say this after every game, but the issue, constantly, is physicality. We can't press properly for this reason, can't win second balls because we're brushed off on every duel, can't buildup properly because the players can't recover their positions quickly enough for this reason. From minute one of every game, it feels like watching a side that's playing extra time. I don't know how other feel, but I feel physically exhausted just watching us try to pass the ball around and do something on the pitch. Are we just that burnt out as a squad? Why is this not an issue with other teams? What are we doing in training / physiotherapy / recovery that makes us so much worse off as athletes?

Onana cost us today. Too many mistakes. With the game at 1-1, anything can happen. But, once he didn't come from that cross, the heads started to go down. The third goal killed us.

Poor mentality from our players. Too many hiders.

We had 1 shot on target all game and that was the penalty. We created feck all. I don't think we were getting anything out of that game today, regardless of the howler.

Nowhere near good enough yet again. Too many individual mistakes and Amorim needs to be getting more out of them, it’s as simple as that.

We”re not going to be replacing 75% of the squad in the summer, most of these players will be in the team next season and none of them look like they have a clue how to play not just this formation but any we’ve tried in the last 10yrs.

Mazraoui and Dalot can’t play the WB roles, Onana is a calamity, Mainoo isn’t a CM, Hojlund/Zirzkee don’t score enough goals. So many issues still.

Mazraoui and Onana lost us the game. Terrible defending

Amad aside, we're awful going forward. We need more bodies in midfield. Mainoo doesn't have the legs and Ugarte is limited. We don't have the athleticism

Bruno also struggled to affect the game behind Zirkzee today. The wingbacks position are seemingly key to this system but we don't have the players/quality. Might be time to adjust

We show up assuming we can just calmly roll the ball to eachother at a leisurely pace and stroll around the pitch being Man Utd players.

Any team that shows up looking halfway lively absolutely shocks us and we go into a complete shell.

We do fine against teams like Liverpool and Arsenal because we show up knowing we will have to earn the right to play.

If the past 2 years hasn't been enough then I'm unsure what sort of reality check these players need to wake them up.

I feel a little ambivalent about this but I would love to see a bunch of the youth players start against Rangers. If they do well then this current lot have to claw to get their positions back.

I'd say well played to Brighton but honestly they just showed up and tried a bit with some tiny smatterings of quality.

Onto the next one.

What is the solution to this? Just seem to turn up when it suits them. It's all so tiring. Cannot do the basics, lack of effort, can't pass to each other, second to every ball. Brighton passed around them like they were traffic cones. Awful.

Garbage. We’ve become Brightons bitch! It’s fecking criminal how far this clubs sunk over the last decade considering the money we’ve pissed away in that time. These days teams with a fraction of the budget are rocking up to Old Trafford confident of getting something out the game.

Amorim should have subbed Onana after that cock up to show him there is accountability. Saying that we never look like scoring. I would forget any other position and focus on getting at least one good striker we can first, as we have two duds. I would even see if Welbeck would come back. Thats how bad it is.

The league table does not lie.

Our position in the table is well merited. And there are so many glaring weakness's in this squad it will take years of flawless transfer windows to rectify it.

Despite hundreds of millions spent(squandered) on this squad not one line of our starting team is up to standard.

The defending for those goals. I mean, wow! First one a basic pass splits the team shape, the second we don’t clear a shite free kick and the third is yet another howler from Onana.

Grim times. A lot of negative records will be broken again this season.

So much money has been spent on players United are now trying desperate to get rid of.

If you have 5, 6, 7 (?) players all arriving for big money and failing, the aftermath is going to be brutal.

Even if you had 2 managers it is not going to make up for it. Everyone at the club now has to grin and bear it, for the long term.

Accept this season is going to be a clusterfeck of results and just make long term plans for coming seasons.

very very predictable

Why does it have to be so bad?

1 shot on target. Another massive individual error.

I thought we responded well to their opener and were well deserving of our equaliser. It’s improper to start a discussion on anything from the last 70 minutes of that match without pointing out that they should have been down to 10, the letter of the law is incredibly clear here. I try to attribute to incompetence rather than malice but boy was he incompetent.

Brighton finished the first half stronger and were much the better team after half time. Individual errors screw us over again. Even their disallowed goal was keystone cops stuff from us. And at the other end we looked pretty blunt for that second half

Onana has made way too many mistakes

Another god awful home game to add to a massive pile of other god awful home games. Im glad i no longer fork out a fortune to go to the games
First half we were doing ok. Pressing well and not giving space. Second half we revert to type and were a relegation level team.
The sad thing is this result was fully expected.
