Shambolic, embarrassing, amateurish. Dont know when a United performance has depressed me so much and I watched the late 80s side.
Back to basics for a start, learn to pass the ball to a team mate and then build on that.

That Lukaku chance to put us 1-0 cost us big time.

Same with his miss against Leicester could have avoided the tense finish.

Not criticising Lukaku but little things changes the whole complex of the match

He does it all the time. I don't think it's a huge weakness but he's not the type of striker who puts his first shot away.

It's happened twice. Admittedly those were his last two jobs (Real Madrid and his second Chelsea stint), but they were the only times it has happened.

Haha too much of a coincidence to say the fact that it has happened in his last 2 jobs and is following exactly the same pattern for the 3rd time tells you there is a serious problem

Yet he was a monster at the World Cup. As was Pogba. Lindelof was great. So was Lingard. Sanchez was great at Arsenal. Martial was great under LVG. All of these players underperform under Jose because he’s a crap manager.

Total and utter embarrassment of a performance and a club - and no, I dont mean team, I mean club. We are an embarrassment to our own legacy. This club - top to bottom - is completely unrecognisable from the club and playing staff we fell in love with.

Brighton will be relegation candidates this season. They looked like 10 x the team we did, today. We literally can't even do the most basic things correctly on a football pitch, we look like a League 1 side at times. It's terrifying.

The worst part for me?

Lindelöf and Bailly turning in 3/10 performances at best and being humiliated by Glenn fecking Murray? No.

Fellaini on after 55mins and we start playing like a desperate Stoke City with £100m's of 'talent' on the field? No.

Pogba looking worse than any of their midfielders? No.

For me, the worst part was that Manchester United FC were 3-1 down at half-time against Brighton for feck's sake...….and never, ever looked like scoring. Didn't even look like we wanted to score.

I'm scared of our club now, to be honest. It scares me that I have no affinity to about 80% of our players. It scares me that a manager I once admired in a begrudging way, now bores me.

We ain't getting top 4, are we.

Criticise away that miss was disgusting it's as bad a keeper howler resulting in a conceded goal. He could have rolled in Malta for a tap in the stupid cnut.

How reactive are you mate? After 1 loss you conclude that Jose has lost the dressing room? Wait to see how we respond from this defeat against Spurs before you spout out this fickle nonsense.

It's the same argument every time. "Don't be fickle", "Stop over reacting", this isn't just a blip or a little phase, its been almost 2 and a half years and we look no better than we did when Jose started. Almost 6 years since Fergie left. Not to mention we are about £700m lighter in the pockets.

Based on that performance and about 60% of last seasons performances, I think its clear to see the team are not passionate about playing Jose's style of football. They cant be too excited about his AWFUL approach to managing individuals either. These players are friends off the pitch and when they see one of the friendliest guys in football Pogba, being treated like an idiot by Jose, it effects all of them.

At this point people are either defending him to save face or doing what I did for a long time......blindly supporting with the hope it magically improves.

Just watched it. Really hard to be level headed after a display like this and retain any optimism. That was absolutely woeful.

Hard to pick out individuals, we really were dreadful collectively and individually. Defense is shaky, Young struggled, midfield lacked energy and decisiveness (Pogba's passing was as bad as Sanchez' the other week) and Lukaku missed another sitter. Martial did himself zero favours and the Mata on the right is just negligent.

On top of that I would have won a thousand quid on an accumulator had we managed to win. Great.

The manager needs to set up a system that his players enjoy, a system where they re functional.

If he doesn t, it s hard for them to do their jobs tbh.
that is utter nonsense. I dont give a fig what organization a manager gives you. Without attitude you achieve nothing. Attempting to blame a manager for player attitude is arsinine. Ive seen teams line up with 3 midfielders and Roiney in midfield and beat up a big rival based on attitude alone. You dont need to enjoy yourself to have a spot on attitude

He could of rolled in Ibiza, high on E’s and good times but it wouldn’t of made one iota of difference today.

What makes it worse is we have to suffer this shit while City and Liverpool fans are having the time of their lives

If you give three goals away like we did today, what chance have you got? The rest is just a reaction to that. It’s like having Del Boy and Rodney Trotter playing centre half and some of the balls played into them were just as bad.

Second half we just passed the ball so poorly and too many players at the football club lack the ability to play football under minimal pressure. Passing the ball short, passing the ball to the wrong man, not identifying space, giving the away consistently. Not good enough and it kills you in games like today.

There was a moment, when Afro came into play and after few minutes, someone posted how we already look better. Regardless of that being the case or not, when you think about it, thats actually scary. The moment you introduce easy, lazy, option on the table, they dont look so clueless compared to other scenarios.

Thats whats pisses me too, that we are fake, at least embrace that way of play, if you are better it then other ways, yes i might go ape shit because of it but at least i couldnt say this aint football, it would be, maybe not attractive one to the fans but its exactly that way of playing football. What we are doing atm...you cant call that a football, dunno what it is but football aint.

Was worried when I saw Bailly and Lindelof starting. Did we not see enough of this partnership last season to know better?

Havent managed to watch game today... how did martial play. Honestly?

Not good. One good run and shot, but nothing aside from that. Hard to know how bad he was though, as aside from Shaw, starting 11 pretty much all stunk.

These days it's top four this, top four that....

We keep performing like that and United's looking at top ten/ mid table.

Shambles at the back, absent in midfield and up front.

Bailly and Lindelof have become the new Laurel & Hardy of centre backs.

JM clearly doesn't know what his best eleven is. He could name maybe five. The rest are woeful, not nearly good enough.

If, like me, you just knew we'd concede late on against Leicester; and if you also knew we'd crumble in the face of merely decent effort by Brighton; then, really, there's been little to no progress at all.

No. You watched teams coached by an attacking manager like Alex Ferguson that, even in spite of any flaws in the team (which there were, at times, many), still knew how to create chances and score goals. This team can't.

The attitude of our players will be criticised, but I saw lots of running around. Even if it was aimless. The players wanted to do something with the ball. They wanted to win the game. They just didn't know how. They couldn't cope with the organisation and pressing of a better coached side.

Nobody walked about. Nobody wasn't visibly pissed off. Blaming 'attitude' is an easy way out used to detract from the more worrying reality that we can't play football.

These players can look over at City all they want, very few (if any) would fit into how they play. Of our starting lineup today very few would even make City's bench. The likes of Mata, the centre backs and full backs would be nowhere near.

Agree 100% You have people in the top 5 CB's in the league thread with Bailly in their top 3. He is good, will get better but he is vastly overrated here. People want Jose out, that is fine, the manager has to shoulder some of the blame. And he can join LVG in the ex United managers group. But how many top managers do you go through before some blame comes down to the players?

Such a gutless performance, Martial playing at about 50%, clearly doesnt want to be here, unorganised shambolic defense, Pogba off the pace, I thought 3-2 flattered us. Virtually no positives, maybe Shaw's performance. Bailly, Fred, Pereira, Mata and Martial all very poor. Back to hoof ball as plan B.

I expect a big reaction against Spurs.

Feels strange administering the blame with so many deserving people, and phenomena. The only thing certain, is that you're dead wrong if you're in a faction that's pointing fingers at a single one.

Shocking today.

Defo a divided fan base. Most fans seem a bit dejected at moment and it's not the sort of morale you need so early into the season.

Linedoff just isn't good enough. Honestly can't remember a match where he's looked anywhere good enough. Like having mata in at centreback sometimes. Mourinho signed him and bailly and continues to play them, so he deserves all the flak he's getting today.

Pretty sad when you go into every away fixture feeling like the underdog and expecting even the poorest sides in the league to dictate the pace and control of the game. This has been the case for several seasons now.

There was never really a point in this match where it looked like we could actually put a fluid attack together.

Nobody should ever wonder why Pogba is such a different player for France, where he's got world class players all around him. In the United midfield he's on an island.

Apparently Chris Hughton said we won't finish top 4 after the game? That's a damning thing to hear from an opposition manager. They never come out with things like that.
Hope he gets relegated

We miss Michael Carrick and it is as simple as that, we should have been looking to replace him ages ago.

Was worried when I saw Bailly and Lindelof starting. Did we not see enough of this partnership last season to know better?

Should never be put together other than for home games. They can't handle a high press.

Martial constantly has the body language of a player that’s losing 0-3, what on earth is up with him? Started so brightly with that run and shot, then just faded away and got rightfully subbed.

Today is the first time I am basically calling for Mourinho’s head. Not now perhaps, but the contingency plan must be made very soon. Not just because of this loss, which could be a sackable offense on its own, but because I really don’t see a bright future with this crew and him in charge. His additions, and more importantly his lack of obvious incomings, kind of shows he does not have a good overview anymore.

Lukaku is poor, Lindelöf is nowhere near the quality we need, Mata/Lingard just not top quality, Young/Valencia far away from European standards... we are out of the title race after two games, it’s beyond ridiculous - a team with that kind of display will never win the Premier Leagye

If Jose doesn't get sacked after this then the club is in a bigger mess than we are led to believe.

Woodward also needs to be given his P45.
As if we'd sack either of them two games into the season unless they'd done something horrendous.

The signs were there already vs Leicester. It was a poor performance.

Havent managed to watch game today... how did martial play. Honestly?
He wasn't the worse one out there. Tried a few things but not enough. Got subbed for Fellaini when funnily I thought he was getting into the game a little bit more.

However, Rash and Lingard weren't any better and apart from his goal, neither was Lukaku. Therefore, it's the same old problem, we have no attacking plan so can hardly put blame on any attacker. We know they're capable of much better, but the set up or lack of coaching makes it difficult to just throw blame on one or the other.
