Where will the goals come from? Our attack has been decimated. But we have no time for worrying. We will need to find a cutting edge to win this game. Pompey will surely raise their game against us.
Anyone think Fergie might throw Gibson in at Right Midfield and move Fletch to the centre with Scholes?
Wes Brown will play. He did brilliant against Newcastle and unfortunately is miles ahead of Neville right now.

Much prefer Rodrigo to O'Shea in midfield despite experience.
If Hargreaves is fit then swap him for Rodrigo/Fletcher
If Park is fit maybe swap him for Fletcher/Rodrigo but i doubt his fitness.

Hopefully Tevez is back and i think Frazier deserves another chance because he was unlucky against Newcastle not to score.
I'm not expecting us to kill Portsmouth it will be a tough game, but i think we can get 1 or 2 goals ,maybe 3 because Pompey have been playing awful. The biggest threat will be the Crouch/Defoe partnership which we should be able to deal with comfortably. Portsmouth won't be able to cope with the pace of Campbell, Rooney and Tevez throughout the 90 minutes and we'll definitely get enough chances to win the game.

I'd agree with that. And to be honest, it doesn't look that bad considering how many players we've got out.

A week is a long time in football so maybe Park, Hargreaves or Giggs will be fit. Or Berbatov will join. Or Anderson will be able to take some part. Would someone update the injury/suspension thread so we are better informed?
Brown was pretty poor against the Geordies to be fair...he is rubbish on the ball

Wes loses it trying to pass sideways, or even just trying to control it, at least Evra is positive in his play.
Play broke down every time it went to Wes or Sheasy, both good defenders, just no good on the ball.

Fletcher has to play centre especially with our injuries,right wing is just a waste for Him and will leave us short again.
There really have been mixed opinions of his Newcastle performances, I just thought he was good, as he consistently has been this past year. But his attacking deficiencies were apparent in the match, and we could have done with Neville's crossing in that match.

Portsmouth failed to turn up against Chelsea, but I bet they turn up against us.
Monday night matches have no atmosphere, but at least it gives our unfit players some extra time to recover.
I predict a 0-2 victory with a typical British team containing Fletcher, O'shea etc. No Brazilians to work their magic but it won't be neccesary.

How many minutes did the twins & Possebon play today? That could prove some insight.
Possebon didn't feature at all.
Rafael had 45 minutes, and Fabio maybe 60 minutes.
or maybe it was the other way round. still can't spot the difference, and i wasn't listening to the commentary.
Portsmouth just don't have much to offer in terms of attacking to us. I can't see them doing much especially after Crouch and Defoe were absolutely nonexistent in the Shield match.
