I caught a shiny Nincada the other day. The first proper shiny I've encountered. Only others have been event or the Gyarados in Gold.
So after my Charmander was sitting on GTS for about 3 weeks (for a nosepass ffs) someone traded it yesterday. Then all of a sudden I've gotten Electabuzz, Magmar, Lapras and a fcuking Ho-Oh! for my Squirtles. Admittedly they're 5IV but can people even tell that? I put one up for a ho-oh because I ran out of realistic pokemon that I could think of and just thought why not since I've been lucky.
Also traded my Regice for a Mewtwo, was chuffed with that one.

There aren't any 3DS emulators at the moment, and even when there is I doubt they'll be able to use the Nintendo Network on it.

The Sapphire/Ruby remakes on 3DS are the most recent ones that people are playing.
Also do people really not care for legendarys that much? Managed to get Ho-oh, Latios & Tornadus all for Squirtles.

The Ho-Oh seems legit, forgot I also got a Groudon which also seems legit. They both have a nickname/Japanese name though which can't be changed which is a bit annoying.
The Latios is shiny so I'm fairly sure that's cheated and I have a feeling the Tornadus is too, but since they aren't available in Sapphire and I want to finish the dex I'm not too bothered.
Clones are all legit, or at least look it and will pass any and all Nintendo tests.

Ah, you've missed quite a few then. Your best bet would probably be to get a 3DS so you can play all the DS and 3DS ones.
For what it's worth, the last ones I played were Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald as well and when I came back, I tried Diamond and 'X' and found them to be mediocre - the game had changed too much for me and I'm not a fan of the new pokemon post Ruby/Sapphire. Loving the Sapphire remake.

How do you use GTS? Never done it before.
Trade for a Clefairy on the GTS and breed for Cleffa. I've managed to get almost all of the legendary pokemons previously using that method on my copy of XY, still haven't gotten round to completing my Sapphire though.
Select a pokemon you want to trade away and input the spelling of the pokemon you want in return. Usually takes an hour or two max to get it traded.
Doesn't help me as I genuinely dunno how to use GTS. I'll try and figure it out today. Thanks though!
If you want to keep your legendaries, you should really trade with someone you know or trust. The GTS is full of assholes.
The GTS is like a bartering version of eBay. You put something up for trade, say Weedle, and ask for something in return, say Arceus. Someone might have an Arceus and want a Weedle, and want to trade. They can then complete the trade.
Of course, nobody will trade an Arceus for a Weedle, so be prepared to actually put something good up for trade.

So, I was about to give up trying to breed a 31/31/31/31/31/31 Protean Froakie, and decided to swap to Honedge instead.
Lo and behold, my final batch had a 31/31/31/31/31/31 Protean Froakie!

Yeah I've noticed some good stuff from trading with them, though still nothing that compares to some of what is posted in here.
Will add you later. Right now I'm just rushing through the story bit so I can get to the end game and the NPC who checks IVs then I'll work on breeding and stuff.
Right now I'm at the bit where you get Latios in the story. Any decent/good places to check IVs for pokemon like that who are on 30 so will be easier to get a range on?
You may as well wait until you complete the post-game. The Battle Resort, only accessible then, has a "just press forward" egg hatching area, daycare and IV checker.
