He is our best player, but if we can get a massive amount for him, we could get 2-3 quality players in, like Inter did with Ibra. Which the new manager can buy in the summer.
That would be a step back then a step forward. You do that when you are already in a position of strength, not where we are. As it stands, we need more players of Pogba’s level, as his level sticks out like a sore thumb almost every game compared to the rest.
If Pogba’s irreplaceable then we’re in a bigger mess than I thought
Aye, when you think you can afford to lose your ONE World Class player you are going about this football thing all wrong.
Uh I beg to differ. Did Football Manager tell you this?
Yes.
He really isn't. There are hundreds of players out there who could put in half arsed performances and whine whine about everything anytime they open their mouths. We would be better off with a less talented player who puts in constant 7/10 performances than one who is as likely to put in a 4/10 as a 9/10
The only thing pogba loves is pogba.
Quite honestly I'd be glad to see the back of the prissy whinny bitch
The sooner people realise this Pogba they think they should be seeing every week belongs in Greek mythology, the better. Pogba is literally, and I use literally to mean, literally, not literally to mean the opposite as is so common - the best player on the pitch I’d say about 8 times out of every 10 times he steps on the pitch. The issue is the next 3 or 4 best players on the pitch play for the other team, excluding the keeper.
I’ve said before, but the expectation and the only Pogba that the critics would be happy with is a player who, every week, is Lampard, Zidane and Xavi all at once. Hence the mythology. Pogba can produce the qualities of all of these players at times, and every time he does, the consensus is that ‘this is the Pogba we need every week’. He’s ‘better when he keeps it simple’, then when he doesn’t and is magical offensively/creatively, ‘that’s what Pogba must do’, and then when he arrives late in the box and scored, ‘that’s the real Pogba we want to see’. He will never satisfy football followers in this country, and a large part of it is because his teammates are two levels below him.
I would prefer that Pogba doesn’t speak to the press about such, but I won’t fall into the trap of the reflex response of ‘he should do his talking on the pitch’, as if he does not. The Paul Pogba we see NOW, would unanimously be seen as the best midfielder in the league, or at worst, second, if the rest of the team was better and we were more competitive. It’s a blind spot in the cretinous media where an individual simply cannot be appreciated properly if his team does not win titles or compete. Not just Pogba, I’ve seen Valencia be the best RB in the PL two years ago and go totally unnoticed because United were ‘shit’. Only De Gea gets credit, as it suits the narrative to say we are so shite that our goalkeeper is the one saving us.
What Pogba said is what 90% of you say every day on here. We need to keep him if we want to get back to where we think we belong, because that is exactly where Pogba will be going if he leaves us, unlike majority of the players in our squad that would not get into a CL side if they left us.
