He already wasted 3 years, they showed to the world that they don't want to build around him. Why it would change now ?? They are just buying time because they know that this squad is weak and they can't afford to lose Pogba this summer.
He was already fooled 3 years ago, he can't make the same error twice. He's 26 since march, time flies and a footballer career is short. It would be unwise to stay.
And I'm not even talking about the issues off the pitch.

Coutinho, someone who was much more consistent and a proper fulcrum for Liverpool has flopped at Barca. Pogba hasn't had anywhere near that same sort of consistency or track record in excellence and yet the former flopped at Barca.
This isn't to say that Utd haven't been at fault. We have in not really giving him a proper team to play with, but the bulk of the fault lays at Pogba's door. We've tried so many tactical setups to make it work for him but outside of those two months where he bothered to put the effort in, he's been reliably unreliable
Yes, Pogba could hit it off with Madrid and be great for a couple of seasons. Then he will start his antics again, thinking he is too good for the club and want another change. Maybe he should try a different PLANET.

United are apparently dithering over potential signings such as Ndombele, Tielemans & Bruno because of the Pogba situation.
So even now, the talk is of finding a Pogba replacement not of finding players to "build around him" him.
Providing the cash is ploughed right back into the team, though we, as fans, have no say in that.

I'm no Pogba fan, can't stand him in fact but the set up we've had, has been terrible whilst he's been here. I can't think of a worse central midfield partner than Matic for him. Because Matic can't run, he needs additional defensive cover for this, so we've needed defensive mid cover for our defensive mid. Because neither 2 defensive mids were great at creating chances, that all fell on Pogba's shoulders. When he was marked out of a game as he often was or he couldn't be arsed as he did towards the end, we had nothing creatively. We've had no support from central defence, none of them are comfortable bringing the ball out. Our full backs particulalry at right back have offered nothing in an attacking sense. I've said all along, one competent defensive mid can do the job of Matic and Herrera and allow us to play another 2 central mids who are creative.

Look let's assume we get 120m minimum for him. I would be surprised to see the Glazers invest more than 80m of that back in. That's unfortunately what we have started doing this summer cost cutting
Ignore the fact that he's a clown, why would anyone not want to go to an ambitious club like Madrid, surrounded by top players and competing every year?
Also they might not spend it on one top quality player, it could be on a few players, which all it will do is boost numbers, but not necessarily the quality of the team. Like the Ronaldo money, like the Bale money. Then a little bit put aside for the owners.
Pogba will excel anywhere else where he doesn't play with Smalling, Jones, Mata and Lingard. He has already shown that when went for Juventus as 19 year old.
A lot of people think he's destined to fail but we should focus on ourself instead and not worry about how Madrid fans is going to treat him etc.

The club continually comes out with the same old crap line of "building the team around Pogba" but since he signed back in 2016, who have we recruited to "build the team around him"...Matic? Fred? FFS...!!
Pogba is the sole source of creativity in this team, snuff him out and United are done for.
But, if your DMC was able to do his own job as Kante and Fernandino do, then you could have another MF that offers a bit more creativity and varies the play.
Pogba is a dickhead, but no doubt he has been lied to about our recruitment policy, and feels just as disillusioned as many supporters actually do..
That's exactly what we are doing. Surprised people cant see that. Club are clearly bringing the wage bill down. What was Fellaini, Herrera and Valencia on combined? Must have been 250k p/w. Jamea and AWB are on what combined let's say 150k p/w
I don't remember him getting nearly as much stick as the 3 I mentioned. I could be wrong there. I know there was some resentment that he was pushing Scholes out of position
If they do buy several players, I hope they spend it a bit more wisely than they did with the money we got from Ronaldo sale.
Pogba was sold a lie just as much as Jose was when they signed on with United.
We already have an overbloated squad. Didnt ole say he had more than 30 players in training the other day. We have 5 CB's and 3 of them are s*ite. We have have how many CM's and all of them accept Pogba are shit*. Club is going down a dark road bringing in more and more young players. We should be bringing in top quality players who will instantly improve the first team
Fully understand that he has had to play with some sh!te players here like you mentioned above but as I have mentioned before I think some people may underestimate the assistance he had from Vidal at Juventus.
I think you’re replying to the wrong person. I’ve given no indication of obsession or hope, just an anticipation that a wildly inconsistent player some are terrified of losing will likely be exposed quickly at a more ruthless club.

Even in this window, we have been dithering over signing new MFs depending if Pogba stays or goes, but surely we should just be recruiting quality players regardless of whether Pogba stays or goes.
Wouldn't Ndombele have been great alongside Pogba, but we delayed because we saw him as a replacement and not as an enhancement.
Think I'd genuinely take the Ceballos + cash deal. He's a good young player who's ready to take the next step.

Yes because Pogba is an offensive player, like Xavi and Iniesta has the assistance from Busquets or Modric and Kroos from Casemiro.
Agree for the most with the part in bold and that we need to get rid of a lot of sh!te.
Easier said than done it is going to be hard to get rid of a lot of deadwood as we gave them very high contracts which is debatable whether they deserved and even if we could find club who are interested in the dross, it will be hard to get them to pay the wages and I wonder how may of them would be willing to take a wage cut.
I think that buy Ole buying young, hungry players he is thinking of the future and hoping that they develop well. Hopefully this is the case, this may or may not happen but is a gamble he is willing to take. Think he needs to get the balance (which is ever so fine) right between players with potential and players for the first team now. This is going to be a long rebuilding process and we have to be patient.
I would rather buy young hungry players than players like Matic, Sanchez etc who are either past it or coming here for a bog fat pay check. The one disadvantage of buying people who will instantly improve the first team is the Sanchez factor with wages, if people come here and think they are as good as him they are going go want similar wages and I think that is going to feck us over and I have thought this since I first found out how much money Sanchez is on, all that money 1 league goal all season pathetic.
Since Herrera was let go on a free, and Fellaini gone also, we need 2 midifelders.

Funny how his best season in Italy was with a Marchisio who was injuried every 4 games, Khedira, Lemina, Hernanes or Sturaro in a midfielder 2 with Pogba further forward
15 assists and 10 goals in 49 games at 22-23 years old, Serie A assists leader and in the team of the season btw. Those stats are great for an AM but even more in a defensive league like Serie A.
The player that helped him the most was Bonucci who was a poor defender but the best ball playing CB in the world at that time. With him, Pogba didn't need to drop deep and was free to do what he does the best (causing havoc in the opponent half ) and with 2 DMs doing the dirty work behind him.

What an awful career choice.Funny enough, in his 3 seasons here, he only played 1 month and half in a formation close to the Juventus 2015-2016 with Herrera/Matic behind him and a CB trying to build from the back ( Lindelof ) allowing Pogba to focus on what he does the best : causing havoc in the last 30m...and Pogba was starting to destroy the PL and was arguably the best player in the league and one of the 5 best player in the world like he did in Italy but for some reason, Ole decided to push Pogba deeper like the portuguese cancer did in the first 2 years and half... the end of the season was terrible thanks to this stupid choice

He hasn't ever excelled though. He's been a player who's contributed, sure; but to say he's excelled is silly when you consider how many goals and assists he's contributed throughout his career.
Last season was undisputedly his best ever season, but I was still left feeling underwhelmed by him. About 80% of his numbers, don't forget, came in a two month burst. Where was he in the latter part of the season, when we really needed him? Where was he when we lost to Brighton and drew at Southampton? Jose undeniably shares a lot of the blame for causing our season to end before it ever really began, but Pogba did himself no favours with some of his displays this season just gone and in the big games he was almost unanimously next to useless.
He was absolutely our best player, but he coasted for most of the season and there's no defending that.
He's a player with swagger no doubt about that. Put him in a good team and he will produce. World Cup winner with significant contribution. 4 Serie A titles on the trot, CL finalist. You put Messi at United where you have no plan, no tactics, no cohesion and he will struggle.
He's a flair player and those things he gets criticized for were to be expected since we bought him.
We need to get rid. I prefer the De Bruyne type than the Pogba. The one who is always looking to make that pass than the one who wants to hold the ball to do tricks before he passes. Pogba is a luxury player, we cant afford to have his type in our team. We're not good enough to have a luxury player yet.
If you pay that much money for a player you should play him to his strengths and if we were serious about building a team around him, we should have brought in the required players and tried to closely replicate the conditions he had at Juventus to give him the best platform to play his own game.
I was against the signing of Matic from the start and personally wanted to bring in Fabinho. I didn't know much about Fred before we signed hi but thought there must have been something about him, if it was indeed true that City wanted him to replace Fernandinho. So far he hasn't shown much but due to him coming to a new league, I will reserve judgement until the end of this season. If he has a crap season this year I think we should sell him along with Matic, who I think should already be gone.
I fully agree with your part in bold and think we have been terrible in that regard. I would have liked to sign N'Dombelle and think they could have worked together. It annoys me to see us have the potential to sign a very good player only to leave it drag on and them sign for a rival, I think not signing N'Dombelle before Spurs were interested in him is going to come back and bite us on the ar$e.
I'd take it too. A very good start to rebuilding the midfield and we won't be fleeced like we would with any other club after we sell Pogba.
Ceballos, Maddison, and Longstaff should be a good start to the midfield rebuild. Or, if we can; get Eriksen in as a direct replacement.

Going from Duncan Castles, they've offered us 3 different deals (bale+cash,Courtois+cash and Ceballos+cash)
The figure of money I've used is what i'd expect to take, not what they'd offered.
The irony of you talking about the World Cup is that he was a glorified water carrier for about three quarters of France's run to the final. He scored a lovely goal and provided a peach of a pass in the build-up during the game against Croatia, but what else? A goal which was a rebound against Australia? A pass for Mbappe against Argentina? And then I'm struggling. That's about 3 moments in a 7 game run. Hardly a significant contribution.
He wasn't any more outstanding than Kante was. He performed his role well, and that was about it.
