Would you accept Dybala and Sandro for Pogba?

In his three seasons thus far, we've failed as a club to provide the players required to give Pogba the platform to excell.

Matic who was up and down at Chelsea, but (many Chelsea fans thought he was done as a player) was deemed good enough for us though. We quite simply failed to get a DM with the legs to cover ground for Pogba.

We failed miserably to provide Pogba with the players that he needs to concentrate on creating/scoring goals. We signed a fabulous talent from Juve who knew how to get the best out of him and they had two very capable players (Vidal, Pirlo) behind him to break up play and control the tempo. Ironically both of those players cost less than Ashley Young. Why on earth did we try and mould him into something else? Mind boggling..

I don't blame him for wanting to leave because it's a short career. He's wanted by elite clubs, who will be challenging for all and sundry. Whilst at United it will be the same story with having to run back because our DM is incapable of providing the cover due to being as slow as a tortoise.

This thread is very reminiscent of the Martial thread when Jose wanted him gone. Same arguments coming up. Reality is there's an issue with the player and for whatever reason it's not a good fit for both parties.

All though football is a team game, i am of the opinion that no managers should be building a team around one player. Yes agree that the players we have are not of great quality but saying we don't have players to bring the best out of Pogba is a poor excuse. It's not like we are playing Pogba in defense!. A player of Pogba's quality should be able to lift the team not the other way around. Ronnie played in a much worser united team when he started that didn't stop him from being the best in the world. Excuses are for the lazies and it's a fact.

Some don't get the point that those "The best etc" titles are earned not given. You can't be inconsistent for the majority of time and having many stinkers and still be the best in your position in the world while other players are playing great regularly, more consistent and work harder and still be called the best in the world and better than them just because you have good talent. Your performance on the pitch is what matters. Martial, Pogba etc, we simply treat any talented player we have as if he's the best when they haven't given the club much so far. Weird logic.

He’s a great player and don’t agree he’s lazy. I also think he’s our most talented player by miles and surrounded by shite.

However I also agree that he only saw us as a payday and even if we’d won the league every year he was here he’d want to go now. He has brought so much negativity to the club and doesn’t want to be here. Keeping him now just prolongs this situation and will probably come back to bite us next season. We should sell him while we can still get top dollar and start the rebuilding in earnest with players who’ll be here in the long term.
 
Herrera already gone and the club dragging its feet in the transfer market with Pogba, Lukaku and possibly DDG leaving.

It’s surely time for another Green & Gold revolt unless some proper signings come in.

I seriously don’t get this narrative.

What is it the man does so badly that he’s ‘everything you hate about the modern game’.

I’m not even talking about his performances the bile for the man is genuinely baffling me.

On his social media [a very limited window into the mans life] he makes every player he comes into contact with light up & he takes a lead role in a successful French team.

His performances have been ‘meh’ but hating a guy for not playing football with the passion of you prototypical run through walls midfielder; honestly I despair.

The elevated analysis of his every action to justify letting him go is honestly about more than football, the guy is not the biggest concern for us from a football stand point & if we want to move the club forward surely keeping better players is important.

People don’t like Pogba for whatever reason but honestly feeling so passionately about his performances whilst Jones, Matic, Young & co. collect a living off the club is proof the issues with Pogba go far beyond his talents.

How people can hate everything about someone they see for 90 minutes once or twice a week & in a few snippets a month is beyond me. Beckham once wore a sarong & appropriated a hairstyle but he’s. . . nevermind. [& i :drool: Becks]

If PSG were offering £150mil then selling him is a no brainer but we’ll again be fleeced by Real & the club will not re-invest the money from his sale to build a better midfield.

They why on earth was he bought for a world record sum?

This was a player that enjoyed attacking freedom with two very capable players behind him at Juventus. We bought him and didn't have a clue on how to use him.

We paid all that money for the Pogba at Juve, and they ( Juve) didn't build the team around him. Why on earth would we build the team around him? We failed miserably in the transfer market to buy top quality players that were required, fullstop. Forget all this bullcrap about building the team around anyone.
 
"Wants a new challenge", but didn't exactly put in world-class performances week in week out.

Yup same bollocks contradictions about the player being great for us whilst simultaneously saying we've ruined them. It can't be both and in the same way the lack of effort and half arsed games are just swept under the carpet.

I don't blame Pogba for leaving at all as he may as well leave for trophies but this overly emotional defence from some of his fans is bizarre.
 
I honestly struggle to see how any rationale Manchester United fan could want him in our team at this moment in time.

It’s pretty simple. He’s a luxury player. An incredibly talented player. But he’s selfish. He’s arrogant. He’s inconsistent.

Football is not binary. In another year Pogba could be a perfect signing. If we were competing, had a quality hard working squad. Sure, he’d be great.

But in our current situation, he’s the exact opposite of what we need. We need a leader, a player who plays with desire and passion first and then demands the same of his team mates. A professional who behaves and acts how he wants his team to act.

Why ask me to name better players then say it's subjective? They've all out performed him in the last 3 years, that's not subjective.

The world cup was 7 games, 3 of those were against Denmark, Peru and Australia, the last of which was a laboured result.

If Pogba wasn't the teams penalty taker, he wouldn't have 19 goals last season, he'd of had 11 and then people wouldn't be banging on about his goal tally. That's my point, not that penalty goals don't count. Literally anyone with decent spot kick ability could have converted those so lets not pretend it takes a world class player to do so.

Pogba is the same player that outperformed KDB at the world cup and won the trophy. He is the only player at the club that has played in the biggest games in world football and has a bustling trophy cabinet.

Listen, the guy wants out. We know he has the ability to sandbag the team when he isn't up for it. If we can get a high fee, and replace it with people who have something to prove, I say go for it. I feck with Paul Pogba, he takes a lot of his swagger influences from US, and I really do endure that. But Jesus Christ, him along with De Gea are becoming embarrassing for the club.

Seriously - a world class player who the top sides in Europe want, but our fan base want rid so we can play Fred and Matic.

It’s a shame he’s going to leave, he’s clearly our best player. I think our fan base are in for a very rude awakening next season.

If he does leave, you'll see how Madrid or Juve deploy him to get the best out of him. They will put the right components in the right slots who will be of far superior quality to the likes of Matic, Herrera, and McTominay.

And as a consequence, he will excell and add to his buldging trophy cabinet.

We would have made top 4 if mourinho was sacked earlier. This was a very odd season. lets not act like we arent better than everyone else bar city and liverpool. Also we are signing average players till further notice.

The whole squad refused to play under Jose. The only time we looked decent this season was when Pogba found form.

I’ve come to realise 50% of our fan base just don’t get it!

Like who was they supporting all this time under Fergie. You’d think they’d understand what quality looks like. At the same time however 50% of the fans told Ronaldo to jog on after the Euro’s as Rooney was better anyway.
 
Ship him out for 150m and buy 2 quality replacements with that money along with a third midfielder from our transfer kitty. That is a fresh new midfield.

Then what’s happening? We were always going to be after at least one other midfielder with Herrera leaving, so I’d say that was Bruno.

Who else are we seriously linked with? Longstaff and Rabiot?
 
We’re already shit so what’s the harm in getting rid as he doesn’t want to be here, it’s time to bring in some new players and trying to build a team.

Pogba has same problem as Lukaku though because teams won’t want or can’t afford to pay the asking price.
 
We are not suddenly going to have all the transfer money to spend. We'd lose most of the fee with a drop in merchandise sales and the value of the club would also drop.
