I finally have some time to play, I have AC Valhalla and Ghosts of Tsushima to begin, which do you guys suggest is better in terms of story?

Never played GoT but the story in Valhalla was very disjointed. I like the game but it's story isn't one of it highpoints.

Ghost of Tsushima and it’s not even close. That game is a masterpiece. AC games are so meh nowadays.

If the bloat and the endless arcs weren't so prominent, then it'd be Valhalla. The theme and the overarching narrative is particularly good. The sheer size and bloat of the game obscures the very good things in the main story.

Cheers! How does Valhalla compare to Odyssey? I really enjoyed the story on that one.

Odyssey was far better. Valhalla was way to bloated in every sense the story was meh and the open world while it was fun Raiding. It wasn't anything special.

They've also renamed the PS5 on Amazon to "PlayStation 5 Standard Console" which suggests something new is coming.
It's going to be one that takes a detachable disc drive. I imagine, that's what next gen will launch with. Heading to that all digital future. For better or worse ( a lot worse).

Agreed, not sure why but the combat is also so much better in Odyssey compared to Valhalla. They really messed up the combat this time around.

Valhalla gets a bad rep because of the "bloat". Yeah it is a bit big and can be daunting with too much to do, but I played it along while watching vikings TV series too and really enjoyed it by the end. I enjoy the AC games anyway, enjoy Horizon and those types so maybe it's just my type of game.

I'd definitely not write it off and give it a go at some point if I were you. The story on Valhalla is good too.

No comparison between them. GOT is better at everything and a really good game. Valhalla is bang average - I only played it for 10 hours for the fancy ps5 visuals.

Tsushima's story is great and so is the quest design particularly in terms of character development, be wary of open world bloat though as is often the case it gets in the way of the story and you get tired of it would ignore most things beyond upgrading your gear.

Personally im pretty annoyed at the talk of an updated console too would have been better off waiting, i mean they aren't even fully releasing PS5 exclusives yet the PS4 remains in the picture and that's what i bought it for have barely used mine since. Like straight up astros playroom is still the best game for it at this point, particularly in terms of haptics.

GOT has the better story for sure. ACV has an odd story structure that I don't think works very well.

Just discovered that Armoured Core 6 and Baldurs Gate 3 come out within a week or so of each other. Really don't know which Im gonna go with first.

Take-Two Interactive. What A-holes.

The rumoured RDR remake is just a port. Not even a remaster, or remake; just a port. A port onto what, you might ask? Playstation 4! Four!! Not PC; not PS5, but PS4!

The kicker? $50! For a por on a decade old console!

Hopefully a sign that focus is on Grand Theft Auto VI.

And it doesn't even have online either. Lazy feckers. If you have an Xbox you can just get the 360 version and do backwards compatibility for so much cheaper, and it has online.

Has it been confirmed that it doesn't have 4k yet?

A PS4 and Switch version is appreciated no matter what in terms of video game preservation. It won't be £50 forever.

Still I can't imagine it getting much interest at launch.

For context, Take Two have made over 6 billion from GTA V alone. That's almost twice the amount of money the entire Zelda series has made in its entire lifetime, so I struggle to have much sympathy for their decision-making here.

Hopefully a sign that focus is on Grand Theft Auto VI.

This has nothing to do with managing resources for GTA VI. That game was only ever going to get made when the money they're making from GTA V slowed down.

@Leg-End I need help. I'm walking on the street in real life and when I see a lamp post my first thought is "If I destroy that I'll get two steel".

Telegraph poles too, I'm having similar issues. I basically get one night a week to game now with my little one and I have a backlog of too many titles, yet I waste my precious time playing this massive time sink.

I've had Valhalla sat downloaded on the console for months now. I know it's good and I want to play it to check it out, but after Odyssey feeling so overly open and bloated with side stuff, I know this will be the same and I'm struggling to get up the will to do it.

Latest Doom has got me at the moment. Casual high-paced shooter with nothing else needed, good way so far to turn your brain off for a bit and shoot stuff.

Well that’s a shit month for PS Plus. The new extra thing has been excellent for me personally but this month is a really low key month. Will probably only play Destiny Witch Queen and Sea of Stars. Rest is meh and Lost Judgment I’ve played. They need to start adding some heavy hitters again.

Aye, one after the other may be a bit much.

Keith David to be the English language voice of Zavala for The Final Shape. Lance Reddick's existing lines will be untouched.

Probably the best replacement they could have cast. Lance Reddick has been absolutely brilliant as Zavala for the past 9 years. It will be weird to hear someone else voice Zavala, but his character is really important to Destiny. He is practically the main character.

Can't believe I missed all the discounted PS5 console deals over the last week or so.

I was holding out for the expected release of the 'slim' model next month, but it doesn't look worth the wait following leaks. I hope the discounts will return! *fingers crossed*

Not to be a smartass but you were following the wrong rumours! It was never going to be a 'slim' model.

I do think that the deals will come back soon. They will want to clear all that old stock. They're not going to make that model any more.

Here is the new PS5 in case anyone missed it! Edit: Click link as for some reason the embed didn't work!

Must say I’m quite impressed with Dysmantle. Such a simple concept but they’ve done it very well. They could’ve easily phoned a lot of it in but it keeps you wanting the next bit every time. Very intuitive controls and smooth gameplay make it fun to play too.

Im really looking forward to Baldurs Gate 3 on the PS5, anyone else?

I dont like to play games on the PC and the two Divinity Original Sins games by Larian had really good console versions.

I tried to play Baldurs Gate 2 when i was 13 or 14 but i was really overwhelmed by it and was confused what all those dices were supposed to mean haha.

But some years ago my buddies and I started to play pen&paper so right now the thought of a great RPG with those mechanics sounds really great.

So I guess the handheld is for cloud streaming then? Makes sense as remote play only always sounded stupid

Still quite pointless as they don't have cloud streaming available in many countries. Not available in Poland, and not in most Eastern European markets.

What makes you say this. Are there some new reports?
feck I forgot what youtuber.... project something and another, if I find something I'll post it. Figured I was late to the conversation on this

You are, just that some people are later.

Tom Henderson talked about the cloud capabilities when he first leaked the Q ages ago. Its just that when the thing was revealed in the Showcase, PS5 cloud wasn't out at the time so they just mentioned the remote play side of things. Now the PS5 cloud is in the beta release, I imagine the next time Sony have a blogpost or whatever to reveal the Q's name, they'll also mention you can play via the cloud on it too.

Yeah that sounds about right Damo

Me too. First game in a long time that I’ve pre-ordered the deluxe edition because the reviews have been so strong on PC and I feel like they’re probably deserving of that extra cash. Hope that I’m not naive with that but don’t think I will be. Also if you pre-order you get early access…

Here's the post Damo didn't want you to see.
