Gaming PlayStation 5

Anyone know what's going on with the included HDMI cable? I obviously ignored the instruction to use included cables, instead opting for a 4K/8K Belkin one (I use them for Apple TV and my ATVs are happy with full bandwidth everything), but with the PS5 no pic. The included cable works, but it's a little short.

What do I need to buy for a longer cable?

Dog knows.

Astro is really cool! Really shows off dualsense and clearly the whole thing is built around that. It's not a tight platformer and you'd never be interested in playing it with a normal controller.

The mic blowing for the fan on the ice cube didn't work for me though (it had earlier in the intro to controls) and then the console whirred it's fan PS4 Pro loud (for like 3/4 seconds). There's still a whirring fan now that's constant (not as loud) and I don't know if it was always there but I didn't hear due to headphones on spiderman or whether it's since that moment in the game.

How's everyone else's sounding? Wondering if it could be something to do with how I've got it set on the stand or in that tight space.

Blowing into the controller with headphones on doesn’t work, I was trying for a few minutes and made myself light headed  You can just press the mute mic button on the dual sense and it does it automatically. Without headphones blowing into the controller works fine with no issue.

No issues on the sound front, can’t hear mine unless my ear is close to it.

Spiderman MM looks class.

I was expecting to be blown away by the ray traced reflections though and I'm really not. Maybe it was lost in all the GIFs online, or perhaps I need to find buildings whose windows aren't smudged. I actually think the normal open world play seems to look better in performance mode weirdly enough.

When you get into the actual combat scenes is when it really impressed though which is the opposite of what I was expecting. That whole Rhino act looked ace.

Id taken off my headphones by that point so isn't that. I had to press the mute button too.

I killed myself and tried again and same thing happened.

Will have to play around maybe I've got a setting on that shouldn't be or because I started the game with the headphone in.

Like you said, I would guess it's the space where your ps5 is, may amplify the sound of the fan.

Astro seems to be acting up for me. Just sat on the welcome screen so i've deleted and trying to re-download it. I'll be annoyed if it doesn't work, given how people are rating it.

Astro is amazing though I'm useless when it comes to that jumping suit. There was a bit on Cooling Springs with a puzzle piece up high and you've got to jump as the lilypad(?) is moving across the water several times onto higher platforms. Literally took me 15 attempts to get that damn puzzle piece as don't think I got the controls right.

Anyone having issues with PS plus collection? I bought Uncharted 4 on sale a couple of months ago. Then it was announced as part of PS plus collection so said I may as well wait and play it on PS5.

Went to download it but its unavailable for me and has a lock on it. Refreshed licenses and still the same. There's other games in the PS Plus Collection i bought that are available (even God of War which I also bought in the same sale and never played can be downloaded with ease).

PS5 is going in the bin.

Just a quick tip for anyone that's getting a "4K HDR not supported" line in the screen settings menu, where it will only let you display HDR at 1080p. I had to go into my TVs external input settings and enable enhanced 4K signal format.

Me smashing it on RE2. Give us a like and sub. I currently have one dislike on that video and no subs.

Its because performance mode is 60fps. Higher framerate can indeed make games look better. It's not just about smooth controls/response time.
