The thing that annoys me most about modern gaming is leaving things out that would normally be in the game and then charging you £2.99 or whatever to unlock it. Piss take.

I'd love to play a 2.5D(?) remake of Super Metroid. I can't tell you how much I loved playing that game.

Did you know just 15 people made that? (9 of which were main stays, the others additional bits).
Anyway Metroid Fusion on the GBA is pretty good, and Other M on Wii is pretty awesome too.
All in all, Sony have clearly dropped the ball which is sad for me as a PC gamer as Microsoft cleaning up the console market will mean no competition and the gaming market will stagnate.
Such a good game though.

I'd pretty much agree with every single word of that! That's got to be a first?
(Though with Fifa and COD, it'd be hard to make them go backwards!)
My four year old collects Skylanders though, and I have to say it is a neat little game for kids. If it actually add some kind of harder difficulty, it would be pretty good!
It's the fact this is just a half-step to cloud and social gaming (as in the direct input and interference into the game kind) is a con.
But hey ho, there's no stopping this shite now

Mario Kart is insanely fun gaming. Never did get around to playing the Wii version, mind.
I'll never be able to decide my favourite MGS. It's between 2 and 3 I think. But then I loved 1 and 4. And Peace Walker was the most in depth of the lot. It really depends which one I'm playing through at the time as to which is my favourite. All great games.

Blur (PS3) is pretty much Mario Kart with 'real' cars. The developers may have gone bust though, so no updates and no online (I think). The game has its bugs too.
Had hours of fun with Blur. I might buy that again.
Metroid should never ever have been an FPS. I bought the GC just to play Metroid... suffice to say it left me very disappointed.

Metroid prime was brilliant. One of my favourites and very difficult too for those who like a challenge.

I never said that. I said it was similar in challenge to part one. None of the halo games are hard though.
Metroid prime is far harder than all the halo's
The games that are top tier on Twitch are all competitive and/or MMOs. LoL, DOTA2, WoW etc. are what people want to watch. SSFIV and Marvel vs. Capcom are already being streamed too so unless there is competition coming out of and shifting towards the next gen consoles, then I just can't see it.
Depend's what difficulty you play Halo on doesn't it? Do leave every game on it's default setting by any chance? No offense intended at all, but I'm betting you do, as do most people I imagine.
Halo 1 on Legendary pisses all over most games nowadays for some challenge, especially the Metroid games.

It's being reported that the games shown so far are only at the alpha stage (whatever the feck that means) and have up to this point been developed on only 1.5GB RAM, meaning that what we will get at launch will be far far more impressive visually than what we have seen so far.

That's because:
a) That's absolutely bollocks about the 'far more visually impressive' thing. It just doesn't work like that.

b) Most people here seem to actually like games, and don't fall for the same old bollocks about power and all that shit hype surrounding this. It's all very refreshing actually, I'm proud of the guys here!
You can see for yourself, as can everyone else, it just isn't that impressive at all. I know you want to really like it, and that's cool, but since I'll own one (and probably before everyone else if I take up that option) I just like making people aware of what they are buying. Cut through the hype as it were and point out that this is really a sucker generation designed to shape cloud and social gaming.
