Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

Ha I am so excited! Where are you buying it from and for how much? I've got a great website which has always delivered well before release dates! Hoping for the same this year.
Oh, cheers, Pani. Where were you when I was asking for site recomendations for early delivery? :(

I've ordered with Amazon, as it stands. Here's hoping they at least deliver on release day.

Ah sorry matey! I've not really posted in this thread until yesterday :(. Amazon are alright usually, got something a day before release day from there once!

I imagine MGS5 will be like Gta 5 with people getting it on release date rather than a day or two early.

No worries. For future reference, where have you ordered from?
Shopto always send stuff out a day early. Amazon I always get it on the day of release. Don't think they've ever delivered something early for me

I ordered mine from Shopto, they're usually pretty good at getting it to ya a day early, I also just discovered ya also get this steelbook case from them to my delight, im not a fan of the box art of this one at all especially when you compare the nice artwork from Yoji Shinkawa on all of the previous games.

That's pretty damn cool! Hmm, I think I may have to cancel my Amazon order...

That looks great! @ArmandTamzarian. @Brocky FYI lads and anyone else who reads this thread: The website I'm ordering from is SimplyGames. Games are generally cheap on there as well as the great delivery time. I ordered Elder Scrolls Online from there and was playing 3 days before the release day!

I've gone with gamecollection, knocked the price down with some reward points to £35. Been good for delivery in the past, although I won't really sink my teeth into it until the weekend anyway so I'm not that arsed if it doesn't come on the Tuesday.

I played a couple of games of it last night. I played MW, MW2 and Black Ops a lot back in the day, but haven't played many FPS on the PS4.

Felt like COD, only faster. Players moved faster, plus there is the jumping and sliding now - so you feel as thought everyone is just rushing around like flies. Felt too fast to me - although maybe I have just gotten slower! It looks good, and the weapons seem pretty good - only takes a couple of bullets to kill someone - which is good as it makes the guns feel legitimately powerful, but not so good as it makes it easy to be killed!
Thanks for that summary. I watched a few video's yesterday and to be honest I don't really like the look of all the jumping and sliding and all this futuristic stuff. Maybe I've grown out of gaming and it was a mistake getting a ps4 but most games seem to just be about the graphics these days and it's like the developers focus less on the actual gameplay.

Here's hoping a few of the big up coming game's change my mind and I finally put some time into my ps4.

MGS V is preordered.

Really tempted to get NBA 2K16. I had a previous version on the PS3 and liked it, so might get it.

If so, then I will need to get the Michael Jordan special edition - that's probably what's making me want to get it in the first place!

Think Mad Max will have to wait. Am not expecting the reviews to be all that great for it, so will be a pickup once the price has dropped.

Blades of steel was the greatest ice hockey game ever. All the others are nothing to it when compared.

Haven't bought an EA NHL game since they started gutting the single player for online. Heard Be a Pro will be better this year though. Most fun sport for video games other than maybe soccer IMHO.

 I have been thinking the same. I bought 2K14 and ended up not playing it too much, but I am a sucker for anything to do with Michael Jordan.
 I wrote my dissertation at university about him and his impact on American culture, and own pretty much every single book about him that has been written...

So will be tough not to buy this!

MGSV will have multiplayer right? If then, the more caftards buy it, the better.

So you know he's an absolute cnut in real life then?

He was cool when I met him ;)

Also, I don't mind cnuts - I mean I chat with you, don't I? :p

I think he is fascinating. His public persona is different to his real personality no doubt. But then I am surprised that people are surprised by this. The guy is probably the toughest competitor in sports. Haven't seen anyone come close to him. The traits that made him that, and drove him to be the best are not exactly the ones that lead to a laid back, chilled out person. I still think the description of him that resonates the most is that he is an assassin in shorts who will cut your heart out to win.

Just saw this -

Plans to give the $8.9m settlement to charity :)

Planning on buying one of these when FIFA comes out.

Will there be PS4 and FIFA 16 bundles available soon after the game is released?

Excellent! Do you know roughly how much I'll save by buying the bundle instead of the console and game separately? Out of interest.

I would have thought they would be between £299 and £349. Some online suppliers might have a good deal, or somewhere like Tesco that do 10% discounts etc. If not, I would expect standard bundles to be around £329, the same I paid for my youngest lads last month when I got him the Limited Edition Batman PS4 bundle.

Just seen PS4 bundles with Until Dawn for £299 and Amazon have them cheaper than that, and so did Tesco with their discount off all electronic equipment. So ignore my £329 price. It looks like they should be cheaper than that.

Grow Home - PS4

Super Time Force Ultra - PS4

XedDrifter - PS4 and PS Vita

Twisted Metal - PS3

TeslaGrad - PS4 and PS3

La Mulana EX - PS Vita

I voted for Grow Home, so happy to see that won.

Can't really see me having time for any of these over the next month - what with MGS and FIFA being released in September!

Grow Home and TeslaGrad are nice pickups, I mean they are totally going on the backlog anyway but I'll look forward to playing them at some point. La Mulana is nice for the Vita, that game absolutely kicked my arse on Steam last summer, proper old school tough.

I should buy a Vita.

Anyone getting Madden 16?? see its released today might go and get it as i need a gap to fill while i wait for FIFA to come out in a months time. Only 38.99 in some shops seems a good price with most new PS4 games being 50?

Was going to, but think i will wait. Just won't have the time to play it enough. I haven't played last year's all that much, as mainly play online on FIFA, GTA and Rocket League.

Will look at reviews and see. It sounds as though the passing and the catching have been given an upgrade. There are more throws available to you, and then different types of catches you can make - so you can go for a possession catch if you're on 3rd down / endzone, or an aggressive catch if near the sideline, or one that positions you best for YAC. On D you can choose between playing the ball and playing the man when the ball is in the air. SOunds like good updates, but undecided.

Plus the Niners will be worse this year than they were last year - and not as fun to play as on D, with Willis and Smith and Smith gone :(

I've been playing the EA Access trial for Madden. It feels pretty different throwing and receiving the ball now and it's more complex. Visually It looks pretty much exactly the same as Madden 15.

Going to play it some more but I'm having a harder time with the new mechanics.

Cheers for that. Will be interested to hear how you get on :)
