Gaming PlayStation 4 (Console)

They announced the price of that GOW3 Remaster is $40, so optimistically its £25, realistically its £30.

Nope. I have both PS4 and Xbox One now, and unless there are big performance differences between two multi-plat games I'll still be getting most on Xbox.

Makes sense. I'm still yet to decide if I want one or both of them, it's sad for me that there's still little to grab my interest just now :( But the XB1 is likely to be the first one I do get.

I picked up TLOU on PSN for £17 last week so I'm confident it'll go down in price fairly quick.

Yea I do miss that part of PC gaming, been knee deep in console games since this gen launched... I used to be primarily PC

Me too :( I was PC only for years. I even bought a mouse and keyboard adapter for the PS3 but never used it because it just didn't feel right. To be perfectly honest, i'm happy with the PS4 and the quality of online gaming. The main thing I missed from PC gaming was the max players for online servers, but PS4 is exactly the same for games like BF4 so I don't feel like i'm missing out much anymore. The only downside I can see is the number of annoying little feckers you get but thankfully they seem to avoid the Battlefield games and stick to Children of Duty or the Xbox.

TLoU has been out for ages tho... it was £40 quid for the longest time, which was what kept me away until as you say, it hit <£20 the other day. GTA is still pretty much full price. It's not so much the remasters I have beef with... its the pricing.

Well yeah but GTA always holds out on price well. TLOU though was what, 6 months and it was £20ish (not on PSN)? I can't imagine GOW3 doing as well, and it's already starting at a lower price point.

Most games not called Fifa or GTA are £25 or less after 6 months, Unity was £25 after 6 hours.

Which is why I think this'll be a decent price fairly quickly. Remasters are even quicker to go down.

True... thank god. Funniest thing is I remember spending 40 of my hard earned quids on 'cheap' games in the 90s not knowing anything about them just based on the cases (ended up with a few regrets) so I cant complain about prices really. Just remasters  and other assorted stuff

Leg-End... I am happy too say my Playstation online is now working again. My whole Wifi went down today so I rang my network provider. They said they were doing a quick test on my internet and within 30 seconds literally everything worked again. Also managed too get my internet speed upgraded for free so it worked out good really!

Awesome, glad you got it sorted and it wasn't a hardware issue.

Okay, I caved in and bought Hardline  Tried it briefly through EA Access and it was good enough to merit a purchase. Looking forward to playing it tomorrow.

Sainsburys have got a promotion on where you can double up some of your nectar points and spend it on electrical goods including dvd's and games. The most you can double is £20 to £40 but it means you can get most games for just £20 worth of nectar points. Great deal.

Is Bloodborne out this Thursday? I'll be home for Easter on the Friday so would actually be able to play it a bit.
Yes, it's out next week. Should be a good game, I'll probably hold for a while before buying it because I have enough to play right now.

Who am I fooling, I will have it at home next Wednesday.

I think i'll probably preorder it from somewhere or other so it can be waiting for me when i get home. I'll have 2 weeks off to play it basically everyday so i guess i might as well!

I'm a bit baffled why they made PS4 only 500GB. You are left with less than that to operate and a lot of games are around 40-50GB mark.

I have six games downloaded from PS Store that occupy over 150 GB combined and I don't really want to delete any of then as downloading 40GB files can be tiresome. GTA takes up 53GB, Dragon Age is over 40GB and Battlefield now takes 35GB which hardly leaves any space for anything else. I've already had to delete data for Destiny and NBA 2K14 which I would like to be able to play from time to time but can't.

It's really not a comfortable position to be in. I can download or install games when I'm at work and it'd be fine because you don't lose saves when you delete them but if they put 2TB there it'd be much more convenient.

Cost, simple as that.

They wanted £349/$399 and it wasn't achievable if they went 1TB+ on storage. You have the option to buy your own and install it, I think its a fair compromise given the price point.

I think the remasters are fine as long as they are great games. I don't understand the point of sleeping dogs or God of war.

I mean Halo remaster was perfect with four games and dedicated servers. I wasn't really bothered about the graphics. I was looking forward to playing Halo 1 and 2 online.

Same goes for a potential gears collection.

EA have announced Rory McIlroy PGA Tour coming out in June

Teaser trailer

Won't be a patch on the golf club IMO, will be full of shit gimmicks and spin on the ball mid air if you have hit a bad shot. Game for the masses who like to think they're good. Won't be challenging.

You have to Question EA's decision with ditching Tiger. From a marketing perspective, Tiger Woods was the golf game to have period, regardless of whether it was good or not. I dont remember anyone ever saying, lets play Sergio or Lee Carvallo's Putting Challenge.

It was a name and it worked because he doesn't have a conventional so saying to your mate, you wanna play some Tiger, just worked.

Should have just called it PGA golf and had Rory on the front cover like they do with FIFA.

Why can't "let's play some Rory" work either then? It's just a name.

I did think they would go the cover star route too but I guess they want to re-create what they had with Tiger, Rory's one of the best and probably will be for the next 10-15 years.

When the feck are Sony going to allow me to play videos from a thumb drive or external hdd?
Never, they want you to use their services. They know a lot of people will just start using it to watch illegally downloaded movies even if you want to use them for personal videos, it is not worth the risk.

It will get it eventually but they clearly are in no rush to do it. You can guarantee they will do the old "we listened, so heres your feature" reveal with it too when it reality it should have been in from Day 1.

I think it'd have been better if they just offered two options - 500GB for £349 and 2TB for £399 or £449.

It's not wise to split up sku's at launch, all kinds of FCC stuff, consumer confusion (people are dumb) etc. Release at one price, offer options down the road and I suspect at E3 they will announce something.

Besides if people want to upgrage HDD they made it super easy, buy a replacement drive and do it yourself, its a non-issue really.

Exactly. I bought a 1tb just before the PS4 was released in the UK. Cost around £55.

Any idea when Bloodborne reviews will land? I bought a PS4 a few months after launch and sold it pretty quickly afterwards after knowing what I knew in the first place - No games for me. But now Bloodborne is just a few days away, it's going to be hard to keep away from another PS4 impulse buy if it reviews well :nervous:

Monday so the rumours say, if not no later than Tuesday.
