The Xbox is important to them in terms of branding and future platforms. It's not purely about the money it brings in and thats why they've stuck with it so far and will continue to do so.
Nothing points to them selling except for pure rumours and everything with merit suggests they will stick with it. I'm not going to concern myself getting into a battle of technicalities on something that isn't relevant.
Yet they don't really use the Microsoft brand with it. It's Xbox. I don't see the name Microsoft.
I was talking about this in the Wii U thread. Sony is somewhere in the middle.
Company name is still there quite prominently along with the PS branding and the OX[]^. Sony needs to associate their name with it, Microsoft doesn't with Xbox because it makes no sense, so why are they in the segment? They are in the segment because they wanted Windows in the living room - trouble now is that they are fecked as the majority of people using electronic devices are not using Windows full stop. That's the question, why are they still fannying around with this when their core businesses are being assaulted from every direction?
