Players you DON'T want us to sign this summer!

Ps: feck Dante.

He only uses us to get a better contract at bayern and he is a shit defender as well. If we want a Brazilian CB even Miranda would be better.

Don't get me wrong, he is a talented player but I wouldn't pay the kind of money Lazio are wanting for a guy who is still quite unproven.

Lazio want around 30m for him, still less than shaw or Herrera....the price isn't that bad....but then again I thought cuadrado would be good for us so what do I know.

The no's seem to be split between ego and age....both which really dont matter when you can sign one of the best players on the planet who is guaranteed to bag at least 30+ goals a season.

His signing alone would make us instant contenders for the next few years.

That's the thing though, no player is guaranteed to do anything.

Alves - Too old i dont think he would be able to cover the ground needed in the premier league, would end up as a big name liability or a bench warmer.

Schweinsteiger - i don't think he is the same player he was a few years, and at 31 is only gonna decline further.

Bacca - at 29 in September, and having spent most of his career playing in sub par leagues a big no thank you!!!!

Benzema - great player, but we would try and fit him and rooney into the team, and i think we are a worse team when Rooney is anywhere then upfront.

Cavanni
- has been alwful since he joined PSG and isnt worth the sort of money we would need to pay now

Kane - Far to early to pay the around 40 million the would want for him, lets see where he is next season, before we go nuts for him

Wasn't keen on Alves or Schweinsteiger, nor Gaitan who I reckon we've never even inquired for.

Seems it was universal in here before the scousers signed Ings that no one wanted him. That's good, at least the whole "oh you don't rate him because he signed for Liverpool" brigade don't have a leg to stand on.

Some odd ones in here though, I have to say. Going by this thread, we should basically sign no one as everyone is overrated, crap or not good enough.

By my reckoning there is only Messi, Schneiderlin and Agbonglahor left that we can sign without upsetting someone on this thread!

Lloris - I have seen just too many goalkeeping howlers with this guy since his arrival at Tottenham. He's not the kind of goalkeeper I want at United even if DDG leaves.

People actually want us to sign Agbonglahor??!

I actually thought years ago under O'Neil in that Villa team that had Milner, Young, Barry, Carew etc that Gabby looked like he could become a top player.

Still think if he'd had a better coach he could of, similar to Tom Huddlestone. Off topic as neither are good enough to even be considered nowadays, but both looked good prospects at one point.

On topic;

Any of the English players we've been linked with. No-one who plays for England is good enough, except perhaps John Stones one day but again he's just potential.

Lloris - does not command his defence. He has been in the EPL long enough and still can't do this. De Gea could not as well but then he grew in stature and had the balls to yell at Vida and Rio
Kane - Overpriced. We need someone proven day in day out. Kane had a good seaosn but consistency we shall see next season.

Alves : Too Old
Cavani : Over Rated and too expensive
Clyne : as above
Benteke : injury prone
Vlaar : Not good enough

No one too old unless it has to be a keeper

Not sure who I would be most against us signing now Alves is staying with Barcelona.

I guess any stupidly expensive centre back, especially Hummels. There's a real lack of top talent in that position at the moment and it seems to mean premium prices for less than premium players.

Any idea who the 3 between 40-50 are?

Neymar 47 = 40 + 7
Kevin De Bruyne 40 = 25 + 15
Luis Suarez 40 = 23 +17
Sergio Aguero 39 = 30 + 9
Memphis Depay 30 = 25 +5

Stats are from whoscored, so they include international friendlies in some cases, and for some players its just overall stats, so I'm not sure which competitions are included.

I agree with Lloris, but I can't think of anyone better. I hoped Mark Ter Andre Stegen will grow frustrated with being second fiddle to Bravo in Barca, but he will probably become #1 for them now... Maybe Leno. Only German goalkeepers seem to have potential right now, but it might be just the hype. With MTAS at Barca, DDG if he goes to Circus Shitrid, and Courtois and Noyer.. I can't think of anyone good enough ATM.

On the other hand I think Schhweinsteiger would not be too expensive, and could add experience and balance to the midfield. With Schniederlin and Blind / Carrick / Fellaini we have enough players to rotate and chose between defensive / attacking opetions.

James McCarthy, he may be good for Everton but this Manchester United FFS!

Milner ...Oops,
Balotelli
Sterling - in fact anyone from Liverpool, like going backwards.
Gerrard
Any player who plays in the PL for a club that ended up below us this year
Any player approaching 30
Any player that will end up at the African Nations in January or whenever it is
Any player with a dodgy injury record - we have enough of them
