Players you don't want United to sign this Summer

It's a fair point but to rule him out is strange he's so dynamic and quick. I see some similarities in him and Miki actually, both quick clever players with great dribbling and an eye for goal.

Hmm, think Mkhitaryan has been quite dull to be honest. I expected more from the Bundesliga POTY. So I hope he isn't the benchmark for future signings.

- Aurier (He may be ok as a footballer, but I hate him as a person)

- Mbappé (we're not ready to make him what I think he may be unless we do buy 4/5 WC players to carry him)

- Lindelof / Semedo (Benfica will rob us)

- James (too slow)

- Lukaku (too expensive)

The correct answer is, 'any player who won't immediately improve the first team.'

No more 'he's a good squad player for £10m' or 'I'd take him for £15m because he might be useful.'

It doesn't matter how much a player costs - if he's not good enough to be first choice and be a marked improvement over what we have, he's too expensive.

Oblak.

Even if DDG leaves, Romero is more than capable to be #1 with one of our not so young "youngsters" as backup.

Aside from his poor finishing in front of goal I really can't understand why people are so annoyed with Pogba this season. He's been good.

He has been a victim of his price tag.

But anyone who has an eye for talent can easily see that Pogba will turn out to be good investment in the long run.

He was very good in 2015/16 as well.

Who would you want?
Yes, but not the level you expect a player at United should have. We had bigger fish that didn't make it. I just feel he doesn't justify the risk of a big money move, because we don't need his type of player.

I want Manolas, Fabinho and Griezmann (and a healthy Shaw back). This would elevate us to another level, without turning inside out the whole squad again, which doesn't work anyway.

I don't understand why people don't want Lukaku or Griezeman.(sp?)

Lukaku, a proven goalscorer, strong powerful, quite quick and oh yes he scores goals. He's everything you would want as a striker so I really don't understand why people don't want him.

Griezeman again, he's a world class player, scores goals, creates and exciting to watch. Again he would improve United no end.

Now I can understand the arguement about how much they would cost compared to how much they would be worth to United, but if these 2 players where available for United to pick this season, we would be higher up the table and a far more prolific side.

Jose sold him at 21 after questioning Lukaku's mentality. Lukaku is PERFECT for a club like Everton - he can be seen as the "best" player, he can try as hard as he likes and still get picked, and managers will pander to him.

At Manchester United my fear is his flaws will get exposed and because he will already think he has "made it" he won't work to improve on what he already has.

He's got all the attributes to be fantastic at our club but unless his desire to be the best is accompanied by the hard work and acceptance of competition for places then he's better off staying where he is. Jose clearly loves employing a big physical number 9 up top so Lukakus mentality must have been really poor for him to have been offloaded so early.

J rod
any spurs player
Barkley
Navas
Messi
Neymar
Vardy
Lacazette
John Terry

I think people are saying Griezmann because it's yet another expensive, high profile player that may end up playing worse than expected or not fitting in unless the entire team is reshuffled with another 4 or 5 signings. After Di Maria and Pogba, I can see why some people might be cautious about Griezmann.

I also have my doubts, but a top class forward who can create and finish chances sure would be nice.
Di Maria yes, but why Pogba? At worst he has done okay. He has been one of our top players this season no question.

Dier
Perisic
James
Bakayoko

Lukaku 50/50 haven't quite made my mind up on him. He rarely impresses me with his movement and isn't the most graceful of players yet seems to score a goal every two games even at some of the poorer/average teams in the league. There's a chance he could easily be a 20 goal a season man here and maybe worth the small gamble.

I don't think it's necessarily always the mentality of the player, Jose is more then a bit special, and i guess it doesn't take much to get on his blacklist. Doesn't always mean the player has no good mentality. But overall i agree with you, and for me it is the same reason i don't want him here, especially not for 100m+.

Lukaku
Zlatan (for another season)
Joe Hart
Perisic

This, a thousand times. No more players who "can do a job". We have more than enough of those.

He lacks technical ability and isn't good enough in tight spaces. His playstyle suits a team like Everton but it wouldn't suit the team we're trying to become.

We need a 'Suarez' type of player who has great dribbling ability and who can play intricate stuff with the three behind him. That isn't Lukaku.

I'm going to say it again and get ridiculed for it again but, Barkley > Ali for me. Don't understand the dislike for Barkley on here, he's incredibly talented, only a year left on this contract and is really now in the last few months starting to show why he was considered such a worldly talent before his broken leg when he was 17.

i also feel if we buy a player like Lukaku for that kind of fee then Rashford could spend the next 5/6 years being shunted around and being wasted

better to sign someone to complement Rashford for me

sign no one. recall Andreas promote Tim and Axel to actual first team players. win the treble.

Alli is way ahead of Barkley at the moment. In terms of potential Barkey has a hell of a lot but Alli is also talented and presently far more productive. Although obviously playing in a much better team.

Alli is a much bigger talent than Barkley however Barkley has really come on well this season and has started to look like a really good player so I get were you are coming from. I actually think Spurs will be interested in Barkley this summer.

I agree to an extent but Ali's end product is mostly down to his role in Poch's system IMO. He's decisive but I don't see him bringing as much as Barkley does to a team when both fulfill their potential. Barkley is really going to turn heads when he starts playing in a title challenging team with other top players, and hopefully IMO that will be us.

Why don't so many on here want Dier? Let's assume for a moment we could negotiate a deal with Spurs, why don't so many here want him? He's a decent player, PL proven, he was a Utd fan growing up, so what's the issue? Is it the bust up he had with Herrera? Or you guys think he's not good enough or what?

Probably because he's fairly limited in what he can do. There are quite a few midfielders capable of doing the same job more effectively.

I don't want him because he'd be ridiculously overpriced, as would every Spurs player. If we could pick him up for £20-30m fine, but we couldn't so we'd be better off looking elsewhere.

Why do so many people not want Lukaku? :wenger:

He would be perfect for us if Ibra leaves. Louis Saha was brilliant for us and Lukaku is basically a better version of him.

23 years old and has been banging the goals in season after season. He would be immense alongside Pogba, Rashford and others.

If there's 3 targets I hope we sign in the summer, its Lukaku, Griezmann and Bakayoko.
