Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

Standards are so low when people convince themselves he'd be a good option. Bang average.

At the very least he’s a pretty safe and comfortable passer of the football. That’s a plus.

Probably slightly better than Amrabat? About the same age and similar sort of position.
He is not better than Amrabt

Spurs' midfield looks so much better now that they have ditched him. Bissouma and Sarr are better. So why would United want him?
Cheap Cover for Casemiro and Mainoo in midfield. Allows us tactical flexibility during a game as well.
I’m at the stage where I simply believe Ten Hag when he said Mainoo will get plenty of games. The transfers so far have spelled that out to me

I guess as purely a sub/rotation for Casemiro it wouldn't be the end of the world. I'm struggling to see why we sold Fred though given the performance of the team so far and the midfielders we've been linked to.

I would take him but prefer Amrabat.

Respectfully, posters don't really take you serious when you say that about every single player. You said something similar about Moises Caicedo.

He's a decent option. Not going to take us to another level, but the alternative is McTominay.

Dear God, If you're up there, please end my misery

We’re skint, don’t want to re-sign him and he’s one of the few midfielder in our squad that can be sold for money.

According to what, exactly? Amrabat is an alright central midfielder for a midtable Italian side. Hojbjerg is an alright central midfielder for a midtable English side.

I just read the story and Jason Burt is saying that Tottenham are offering Hojberg to clubs but United's top target 'appears' to be Amrabat.

Yeah I don't believe this one, he just isn't good enough the ball for us to be interested.

Of course. We're linked with a midfielder who has played PL football for two clubs in the last 8 years or so and he's bang average. Meanwhile, we should all focus on a player who has been kicking about in the lower leagues throughout Europe and mid table team in the Serie A.

Nah, Hojberg is a far better option.

Superb player but he'd replace Case, I doubt they would work together we'd be going back to the Ole double pivot days and then Bruno just running around willy nilly up top.

He is the profile of player - albeit admittedly I'd like someone faster - who can sit as the base of a midfield and orchestrate the tempo, pick passes and manage a game.

In a summer where we’ve cleared some shite from the squad we’re going to fill it back up with in this last week aren’t we

Awful planning yet again from us.

So this is how it feels to be a mediocre club supporter, being happy with signing Hojbjerg.

I'm pretty sure he's good. Be a good addition to the squad and would allow us to shift McTominay.

I don't think Hojbjerg is any better than Fred and I doubt he's going to cost less than what we sold Fred for. It made sense when I assumed we were selling Fred, DVB and maybe Mctominay and getting an actual upgrade but if this is what we end doing I'd have much preferred to just keep Fred.

The amount of people who just reject him purely because he’s from Spurs :wenger: Only player with Kane who was actually good last year, but I guess watching Spurs is not a criteria

Would be a good signing

Can't believe I am wishing for the window to end. Are we talking a loan or permanent ?

Might be a bit biased as a Dane, but I think he is actually pretty decent at what he does. I’ve seen him play some very good games, where he wins a lot of balls and distributes it well.

Also a bit of a shithouse.

Always liked him tbh. Squad player and more a DM/DLP than Fred or McTominay, so it would make sense but really depend on price.

We must really not like Amrabat though

PROS
1. Stay at home midfielder.

CONS
1. Everything else.

Rather we signed someone else but if it's between signing him and no other midfielder then I choose him. If he's signed it needs to be to play alongside Casemiro. Not as back-up.
