Pierre-Emile Højbjerg

I think that a lot of people comfort themselves by thinking our current manager can do no wrong. He is a bit of a genius right! Right?

If Erik wants Mount than Mount is clearly a very good player that will fit our needs perfectly. He has Eriks approval and that is all we need to know. Right?
The counter to this is Mount has played 2 games in the role. If we take a step back the whole team has looked sluggish and poor, there's a clear argument that the experiment to move him to 8 could have been more gradual but then I don't think he dislodges Rashford - Bruno - Antony so it's kind of where he has to succeed.

Let's see end of the season if he's made that role his own, I don't see it personally but you simply can't write it off after such a short span of games.

Did you have similar opinion to our new signings after the first two league games last season?
At least Martinez showed qualities in those games. And Eriksen we all knew about. Mount, who I do not blame 100% btw, has done what?

I’d rather we went for a younger player with more upside. I really don’t like the age profile if we add this guy as we will need a whole new midfield rejig again next year. Same situation as the strikers in years gone by. We will then have to spend top dollar on youngsters who may fold under the pressure. It’s not good management, at best its papering over the cracks while the competition build for the future and get the smarter buys. This all comes from the glazers and it always has. They are happy year after year to let the manager go into the season with an incomplete squad or a mish mash of short term fixes at best. We are in transition and we should be building for the future as such. We aren’t winning the league anyway so why not build a team for the long term instead of making the same mistakes over and over?

Money over sporting ambition or common sense that’s why.

He's yet to do much but it's two games. Its a lot better than Casemiro first two appearance and look how instrumental he's been. We also know Mount, we know in his time in Chelsea he was the guy with the highest goals, assists, chance creation. He was literally their best player but go on...

Højbjerg has been my number two on the list after FdJ for a long time. Leader, Quality Passer, Power, Assists & Goals, loads of PL-Experience and never injured. Him being out at Spurs right now is a system thing. It has nothing to do with failing form. At 28, he has at least 3-4 good years left. At 35 mio. you will not get anyone playing at his level. Buy.

Sometimes, I'd like to loan all three, Amrabat, Hojbjerg, Gravenberch, just to see who sticks better to this riddle called current MUFC squad.

He's got a bit of the shithouse about him and for that reason I would like him as well as Amrabat.

I'd rather get two midfielders than get one CM and a left back.

Yeah same here but can't see it happening

As a loan I don't mind it. We need another body / cover in midfield.

If we're looking to sign permanently, I'm not impresses.

He was terrible against Fulham last night. Not good enough for a top 6 team, would be delighted if you coughed up 25m for him.

Not that I want him here but if we’re turning up cap in hand offering Fiorentina peanuts for Amrabat on loan then how the hell do we expect to go and sign a midfielder from Spurs and Levy of all people?

I mean that's just it, this doesn't seem true. We're not in for Højbjerg at all. At most there was an enquiry asking how much Spurs want but it goes no further than that. They've already scared Atlético away.

I like Hojberg, but seems Im in a minority. Wanted him a couple of years back, perhaps he's gone off the boil a bit since.

The story is you were offered him, not that you inquired.

I like Hojbjerg. Think he'd be a very practical additional to the squad. Can cover for Case, or in games when we want to be more defensive, can play alongside him. He's ok good-ish defensively and offensively. Not top class I know, but good and all-rounded enough to be an option.
Don't think it's gonna happen though.

One good thing about this transfer news is that he was offered to the club, so it's not like ManUtd are actively pursuing this deal.

Hopefully that's the end of it.

I happened to catch a few Spurs games when they first signed him. I was honestly impressed. Thought he was the player that did a lot of the graft but got very little recognition.

Haven't seen much of him after the first few games so don't know if he continued in the good form.

At the time I was thinking we need a player like him

So that's Amrabat, Hojbjerg or McTominay as a possible replacement for Palhinha.

Romano saying interest is still possible for us. Wtf are we doing really.

I was honestly warming to the idea of Hojberg over the last couple of days. I think he would do a job for us

He would be amazing, also to help Hojlund settle
