Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang | Orny says deal to Arsenal dependent on Dortmund getting replacement

Auba, Laca, Ozil (atleast for now), Kolasinac, Malcom -- this is actually a pretty good core for Arsenal to rebuild. No way that that squad should finish below the top 4, but without a competent manager, one cannot say.

What more can he do? Better sides have refused to buy him and he is probably
tired of trying to catch Fc Bayern...

I find it amazing that he can’t seem to find a bigger club. He openly admitted he dreams of playing for Real Madrid and they are in a situation where Benzema needs replacing. They haven’t spent decent money in two years now and would look a perfect option for them.

For €60m Chelsea should go for him as well because Morata doesn’t look up to the job.

Because his attitude is terrible and his family (especially his father) are clowns too.

There's been rumours before of him going to China hasn't there?

He's 29 in the summer. Still seems like a decent short term purchase for Arsenal, though.

Spot on. He and Mahrez still being at their current clubs us baffling.

A player with an attitude like Aubameyang with a manager as soft on his players as Wenger? What could go wrong?

Yep, but having 2 goal threats would take some pressure off Lacazette. That and Auba can play out wide.

TBF I think while starting well Lacazette has looked terrible in the last few games, I honestly don't think it matters who they buy. Wenger genuinely doesn't seem to give a feck anymore.

They're playing him completely wrong IMO, he needs service and not with his back to goal. Not to mention he shot his confidence to pieces, dropping him for big games, taking him off early. You're just not going to get the service from the welbecks, iwobis and xhaka's. Not to mention Bellerin who gets up the pitch pretty high seems to just be a headless chicken.

Yeah he is defo a player who feeds off through balls and crosses rather than being a hold up guy.

Lert me call this.

AFTER years of muppeting over high profile player swaps, we´ll finally have one. Aubameyang will go to Arsenal for Giroud plus €60M. Dortmund can´t get the €100M Aubameyang´s on pitch production is worth, because of his off-pitch escapades, but they want him out. They have been interested in Giroud. Giroud has been interested in them.

good Arsenal hopefully Wenger can pull off this signing by 2021.

Hope someone else comes in last minute and steals him away.

Well, Arsenal didn't sell Sanchez in the summer as they couldn't get a replacement in and Wenger has admitted to taking the same stance now. So, if we were to get Sanchez, we'd want Arsenal to bring someone in. But you're right, a lesser quality player would be preferable.

Good signing on paper but there’s a reason no one bigger has touched him surely? He ticks a lot of boxes for a lot of clubs including us.

Dont think he is all that. Will score them goals and miss some, but fits in perfectly at Arsenal with his mentality and conversion rate at times

Can only assume Arsenal are planning on 2 strikers with a number 10 behind them in a 3-4-1-2 so

Aubameyang----Lacazette
----------Mkhitaryan----------

I'd imagine Malcom with initially be signed for squad depth considering they sold Chamberlain and are about to sell Walcott

He and Laca are terrible with their hold up play and ball playing skills in general. I can't see how it works

Aubameyang is waaaaay better in the middle than out wide. He got so much better once Dortmund removed him from the wing.
He is a great, though sometimes wasteful, striker for a second to third tier club. So Arsenal/Dortmund is his level, but he seems to be a piece of work.

His all round game as a striker is actually not the best.

This. Doesn't matter the quality players he's got. The core of the team, their mentality and their overall quality of football has diminished over the past 10 years.
Wenger's here for only 1.5 years more. Sven Mislintat brought in as a DoF from Dortmund is said to be making all these signings. Same guy that signed PEA and Mkhi for Dortmund.

He's certainly regarded as damaged goods but that's I think that sort of reputation becomes self-perpetuating in sports.

I used to follow F1 closely and sometimes good drivers just seemed unfashionable - perhaps the teams always knew something the fans didn't but sometimes it just seemed that each team thought the others must know something they didn't. If a driver didn't get a break at the right time he didn't get a break ever.

I'd be very happy with him. With all his problems he's still only two goals behind Lewandowski this season.

And anyway, Arsenal wouldn't have a chance of such a goal-scoring machine if Real Madrid or Juventus were in for him so a bit of controversy is all the better for once.

Probably the right move bringing in a DoF, should make the transition to new managers easier and maintain a long term focus if the next manager is a flop.
