Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang| ESPN: Move to PSG very close

PSG are more likely to spend bigger to improve their squad, and are more likely to put up a better fight in the CL. France is also pretty much entirely where his career began, so that may have been a thought in his mind to move there. Contrast that to Dortmund who just sacked their manager, there may be a slightly bigger air of uncertainty and changes to tactics.

Rubbish talk. There's a lot of good teams in the French League.

PSG is a step up from Dortmund.

Have to laugh at Liverpool fans who thought they had a chance of getting him
Wouldn't call it a step up. PSG have not performed better in Europe, their club is smaller than Dortmund, German league is more watched than the French league. Only step up are his wages.

Club is more attractive. Better city, better chance of winning trophies and better project overall.

No big stars join Dortmund. They have to make them. PSG have Cavani, Di Maria, Verratti, Silva and Matuidi. Which big star have Dortmund signed? They're a selling club with no ambition in my opinion. Kinda similar to Liverpool.

Aubameyang to PSG, very high chances to get trophies there rather than at Dortmund, so as step down as the league may be, at least he would won trophies before entering his 30s, and have better chances at Champion League with the squad PSG have. Not a bad choice thinking about it.

Yes, those too, and better wages below all of those, not a bad choice for his next career.

This - big step down in my eyes. Money talks though hey?
He'll have more chances of winning trophies at PSG than in Dortmund IMO. Apart from wages, it's an interesting city to live in at his age and income plus he's spent most of his life in France so he'll probably have loads of friends France he can spend time with more often. Wages, city, and close proximity to friends are important factors for a lot people of people when they choose jobs, I don't see why different standards should be held for footballers.

If you move from Hull City to New York Red Bulls you get that too.

They're not a selling club. The players that they lose they lose because of contracts. They've been more likely to win the biggest trophies than we have in the past 5 years and have also come a lot closer to the CL than PSG. People on here make fun of Arsenal for not doing anything in the CL. PSG have not done more than Dortmund in the CL despite spending a lot more money. You cite ambition as a motive but there he goes to France which albeit a fine league is not on par with the Bundesliga.

How do you figure the Bundesliga is a better League than Ligue 1? Bayern have been running the show for about 6 years now. Nobody comes close.

And I'd much rather play for NY Red Bulls than Hull City to be honest, lol. Besides that, not really a fair comparison. PSG on paper are more likely to win trophies than Dortmund.

PSG and Dortmund are the same tier right now and I do not think going from the Bundesliga to the Ligue 1 is that huge of a step down.

This is so annoying how those dudes in Paris can just get top tier players. To me its the easy way for players to go there. Also I cant believe no one is trying to hijack this deal I thought Auba loved Madrid, my guess is they are focusing on getting Mbappe.

Dortmund not a selling club. Alright then, they are a club that their stars always want to leave after a few years. Amounts to the same thing.

I figure because the German teams do better in Europe, there are more fans in the seat, the teams are historically better. Basically every measure you could muster. Best team in France is selling all their best players despite not needing the money. Lyon made it far in Europe but they finished 28 points behind the top. Next league season won't be close and you can quote me on that.

If you'd rather want to play in the MLS than the PL then there's no wonder you think PSG is a favorable move. The move is fine for him because he goes home and gets paid a lot but it's not very ambitious. This is a player that could have gone to PL, La Liga or do like other players and join Bayern when his contract is closer to being up.

I don't think he had any better offers than PSG to be honest.

I doubt Bayern, Madrid or Barca were interested. United and Chelsea weren't. So that leaves PSG, Arsenal and Liverpool. I have a suspicion that both of those teams were in for him and let's face it, PSG is a much more attractive club than those two.

Really should be in for him. His combinations with Mkhitaryan when they were both at Dortmund was something special.

Can't see why people would criticise Lukaku's ability to hold up the play and his technical ability and then ask for Aub?

We really should go to Aubameyang now when Griezmann deal collapsed. And sign James too. That could be powerful duo.

It's a shame we don't seem interested in this guy. Genuinely one of the best strikers in the World and going for a very reasonable price it seems. He'd be lethal for us in the transition phase of a counter attack with his pace.

If one of them plays on the wing it will probably be Aubameyang, he's done it before and seems more suited for the position.
No, he is not. He was bad on the wing and then Klipp moved him to CF.

He made L1 TOTY once playing on the wing a lot for ASSE.

Cavani won't accept going back to winger.

Cause most foreign players aren't watched every week and people only look at the stats.

Premier League players are over analysed. Lukaku is the perfect striker for Mourinho and us.

Makes no sense tbh to me, Lukaku has more to his game easily. Aubameyang is a player who needs others much more than Lukaku.

And he shouldn't as he is the established striker and he is better than Aubameyang. This signing makes no sense to me, better focus on a DM and a CB

Have they actually made a bid for him yet? Yesterday I read a quote from Dortmund's Sporting Director, Michael Zorc, who told Ruhr Nachrichten, that as yet the club had received no offers for Aubameyang, despite the supposed 70m bid. If it's true, we should be in for him and sharpish.

Had a dream last night that we signed this guy. He scored against Liverpool in our white kit. :(

Yes.

He's going for a lot less than what Everton are asking for and he happens the be the quickest striker in the game.

Well, if you play Perisic-Mata-Miki and Auba, it would be almost like Dortmund attack from the year before. Sure, Perisic is not Reus, but Reus was injured a lot. And Mata is better than Kagawa.

Anyone know what his goal record against Bayern is? Seeing as Lukaku is often talked about as going missing in big games.

I mean, Auba likes to dance and dress crazy. He will do well with Pogba and Lingard here. Keeping the hopes high:)
