Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang| ESPN: Move to PSG very close

He's 28 this summer, I suspect Dortmund might be content to cash in on him.

Wasn't a large part of the financing for the Milan takeover gotten via high interest loans? Seems unlikely they'd spent so much on him if so.

He reminds me of Cavani.

Scores loads of goals on paper but every time I've watched him (admittedly not that much), he misses chance after chance.

Didn't realise he was 28 either.

The obvious solution would be to stop watching him and he'll do well.

Then you should not comment on him, If you have seen him very little.

Obviously its a matter of money with this case and Dortmund not being under pressure with expiring contract like usual. Its a good time to cash in, but if the offer isnt high enough, then they can also wait another year with contract until 2020. He is an integral figure and very important for them, so 50-60m€ wont do it.

IMO Dortmund will try to get around 80m€.

Milan bound?

That would be so dumb of him. Atleast with Dortmund, you have a team that challenges for Champions League every year. I'm surprised that Pep and Conte aren't all over him if he's available.

Although, he would score goals for United and his pace would definitely help.

Cavani just renewed and PEA brings mostly the same thing, so I'm not sure PSG would pay a big fee for him.

At last. It was strange that we weren't linked with him for so long. We should definitely make a bid for him. Looks like none of the big European clubs need a striker so we can have a clear run at him. Even City who were constantly linked to him have Jesus and Aguero. Chelsea look like they'll sign Lukaku or Morata.

Would be my first choice. Him and Rashford sharing the striking duties would be spot on. Having said that don't see it happening, unfortunately.

His pace might not mean so much when many teams park the bus against us though. He wont have much space to run into.

What is his link up play like? Can he hold the ball up and bring his teammates into the play?

Can't see it happening but would definetly be on board with this signing. He would be excellent in the EPL I think.

Na he's be lethal for us...just think Pogba popping balls over the top for him to zoom onto and actually finish

Not always but yeah it can be a risk for the money he'll cost. He still has 3 years left on his contract as well.

EPL had become so defensive these days that it is very close to the catenacchio football I used to watch when I was very young. Under such circumstances you simply have to have players with a mix of characteristics. Also we have so many positions to strengthen that we can't throw loads of money in one position especially in a position were we've already got Rashford and Martial in.

If you ask me I'd go for something of this mould

AMR: Mkhitaryan - Dembele
AML: Bernadeschi/Mahrez - Martial
AMC: Pogba - Mata - Rashford
STK: Vardy? - Rashford

A cheeky 60m bid for Mahrez and Vardy could do the trick. The former was splendid last season and was still able to score a respectable 9 goals in 35 appearances this season despite all the crap Leicester went through. Vardy on the other hand is hardworking, he can lead the line and would provide the ideal partner for Rashford (the latter playing as no 10)

Pace is the first thing to go in football

Perhaps horrendously inappropriate to say, but 28 is a more worrisome age for a white athlete in terms of losing pace. Black athletes retain their speed for longer.

He's not just a runner either. He's a proper center forward.

that is racist

not really but I never said that on this forum

He isn´t a great finisher he misses some sitters that´s for sure. He gets brilliant service at Dortmund that he wouldn´t get here.. So I can´t say for sure that he would be an upgrade to what we have..

Have to disagree. He is miles ahead of Rashford or Martial. Zlatan probably doesn't count but even if, he offers a bit more than Zlatan imo even if he might not be better.

I'm might be interpreting this wrong but he's scored 26 goals in the league this season if I'm not mistaken according to whoscored.com. 7 in CL, and 1 in DFB Pokal. Maybe I've been underrating this guy...

He's scored 29 goals in the league so far, in 31 games (BuLi has less games than PL).

Like I said I am not sure if he would be an upgrade, but he could be. But in my eyes he isn´t that much different to Rashford and with our striker roaming the front line totally isolated I think any striker would struggle.

Is the perfect age, but is he the best striker for Mourinho?
