Was really hoping we'd get through this summer with City just spending £100m on crocks and Stones.

Yep he's a very good player. There are a lot more ingredients to having a great team though. They signed De Bruyne, Sterling and Otamendi last season and actually managed to get worse. Until they start playing very well as a team I refuse to panic.

Am I saying I do? I'm saying the rumors are a load of bollocks because they just don't make sense for any of them. Its like if united went and signed courtois (ignoring madrids permanent interest in dave). Both are class, the one we have obviously better, would cost a fortune but wouldn't be starting (in his position, aubamayeng can play wide but is half the player). Its not like Pep is like Fergie where he would fit them both in somehow. There isn't a chance Guardiola would suddenly play with 2 poachers basically, after being so successful with hos variations of 3 man midfields and 1 up top in the past.
You dont buy players just because they are good. Especially at the figures that would be required to bring him in. Aguero is one of the best forwards around so there is no point in breaking the transfer record for an inferior player who can only really be effective in the one position which is set (starting 11 speaking)

Not sure what his role is precisely but certainly has closer contacts with the club than any other Mirror journalist. As he's a City fan I recall reading the club chose him as a journalist they wanted to form a good relationship with.
