Just read on SSN sources Jones spoken with Wenger but chose to join United.
19 years old, built like a brick shit house and played most of Blackburn's games last season. He's good in the tackle, a bit John Terry-esque, good blocks, but also quite good on the ball. He seems comfortable bringing it out of defence as well as the rougher sides of defending. Has also seemed comfortable playing in a defensive midfield role and at RB.
Not really seen him but almost everyone seems to have nothing but great things to say about him unlike Henderson who I have seen and looks average.

great little signing this ,seems like the lad did right by blackburn by signing his contract in january it encourages all clubs to bring through good english talent.

Just like Henderson I feel the move is a little soon and overpriced but I don't care if Fergie rates him that highly, and everything I have seen of him suggests he will be a top, versatile player.

wikipedia says he is 5'11 in height. Seems a little bit on the short side for a central defender! Even smaller than Vermaelean but he is just 19 so should grow a little bit more.

Ah, that's where that came from. I imagine it's true, another year at Blackburn before we bought him wouldn't have been bad for him. Is it true we threw Diouf into the deal?
Initial rumours and ramblings suggest Diouf is not involved in the deal. Suppose we wont find out until anything is signed.
Wow I didn't see this coming. I wrote earlier today that I thought he would join Liverpool. Shows how much us forum people actually know hehe. Varane deal dead? Or Varane and Jones to replace O'Shea and Brown?
Missed the last 10 pages or so, is there any talk of him being loaned back to Blackburn? Surely 38 games for them is more beneficial than 10-15 for us?
He'll start move than that for us if played in CM IMHO.

At a complete guess I reckon we've agreed the £16million fee but we want to throw Diouf into the deal and we're negotiating how much we value Diouf to bring the £16million down.
