The genius that decided this was a good option should be made to pay Jones' contract from his own pocket.I don't rate Jones as poorly as some but I have to agree, if he's clearly not wanted then what was the point of the new contract? Surely the money in wages saved would cancel out any transfer fee anyway, another poor contract decision as with Mata.

He didn't play that bad. Big error for the goal of course, but he also won the ball back a lot and passed it well. Our midfield and fullbacks was a much bigger problem than Phil Jones.

I actually thought he was playing really well today until....Jones pulls a Jones. Everyone makes mistakes sometimes, but it seems like every time he makes a mistake it's a costly one. It was the right move to take him off at half time. If not for that goal, then just for the tactical switch as the 3-4-3 was not working in the slightest. The first goal should never have stood, it was a blatant foul on Jones. English refs and vars are just aweful.
