Very pleasing that he's made it through so many games this last month, and played well.

Hopefully he can kick on and be a mainstay now.

What an amazing comeback from his injury nightmare. You couldn't tell that ha has hardly played since January and not much before that either.

One thing which hasn't been mentioned is how Jones first touch really allows us to build from the back properly. I have noticed the midfielders whenever they are under pressure hit quite risky cross field passes to Jones but he brings it down every time with consumate ease and then plays it forward every time. It means less passes go back to De Gea and we can control possession much better and move it around with more pace and purpose.

He's a very underrated 'footballer' for a defender.

Very good point. He has a good range of techniques for a defender. I also miss seeing him bombing forward at when an opportunity presents itself, very refreshing to see for a CB (not that I want him to do this all the time, mind).

Is there a gif of his flying kick celebration?

Fergie knew... #10

Been arguing with a mate few days ago, who is better - Jones or Stones. I think it's not even close. Jonesy really has been performing as sir Alex thought he would since he's came back into team. Absolutely bloody brilliant and long may it continue.

Please dude just stay fit. Some might even say that he will soon deserve a more normal looking photo on this thread.

He's been so immense for us, a Blind and Smalling hybrid of sorts.

Might seem like a really small thing but I really loved seeing him stand up to Rondon in defence of Rojo today. I like to see that kind of teamwork. I was one that wrote him off but got to hold my hands up, heads been pretty immense in recent weeks alongside Rojo.
He has commander/captain feel about him even when he first joined us. Keep this up and he may as well be one in the future. Glad the the lad.

Zlatan must have taught him some Karate and it does wonder on his fitness.

Does not go unnoticed by all our managers in recent years (even some of the shittier coaches). Had it not been for his injuries, he could be much established than Smalling as he's a better footballer and modern football require much more from a CB than just defending.

Always rated him and he seems to have eradicate flying into stupid tackles in his game.

This.

Even those last ditch tackles that he needs to make so often in the past is becoming less and less these days. Meaning he is getting better at reading the game.

I always see him as a leader/captain material. Nice to see him getting a good run of games and may this continue.

Whatever happened to all the 'he's a headless chicken, who couldn't trap a bag of cement' comments?

If he overcomes his injury woes fully and becomes, not Duncan Edwards, but a 10+ year veteran of United and wins everything there is to win at club level, while starting most of our games, does he become one of SAF's best signings in the 'value in the market' era?

Love seeing him standing up for Rojo. Too often we've had one player facing off against an entire squad in an altercation. We need some rough edges in our team.

He's playing some of the best football of his career right now. Jones needs to stay injury free. But signs are good.

Previously, some of the comments on this forum about Jones were downright embarrassing.

He's cut out all that last ditch tackling, his reading of the game has been so good.

Very true. On newbies forum it was especially bad.

Superb performance today and it's brilliant to see him back after such a torrid time with injuries. IMO one of our top 2 centre backs.

I loved the way he was sticking up for rojo when rondon was trying to intimidate him. We need more of that in our team.

He's just got that extra bit of aggression about him that smalling lacks.

At the beginning of the season I have posted that Jones will be Jose's first choice CB by the end of the season if he stays out of injuries .... Got a lot of hate and bashing for that too...

Glad he is proving me right :) Just so happy

It was always just a matter of staying healthy and playing consistently

Been fantastic
