He will probably have to spend a few days in hospital. Don't worry though it will only be so that the entire medical staff can view the finest example of a groin ever seen.

fecking England twats

I get the feeling Moyes is going to have no luck this year

What is it with United and England friendlies! We have no one in cm and now we have lost our cb midfielder.... Roy you inapt fool.....

Can we kidnap Cleverley before the Germany waste of time on Tuesday?

We do seem to have a tremendous knack of getting concentrated injuries in one area at once - but now it's not our well-stocked defence down to the bare-bones, it's the area that's already our weakest. It's truly galling if even our "can do a job there" central-midfielders are getting struck down - they make-up the majority of our central-midfield options at the best of times

Before telling Phil Jones he misplaced one of his passes, Shinji Kagawa was 6 foot 4.

Shame if he's injured. I thought he looked fairly solid for England. Lee Dixon seemed to blame the first goal on Jones, which seemed a bit mental. Now reading comments on the Jones being injured story on other websites, the ABUs are celebrating it, as he's "shit". Out of the back four on Friday, he was by far the best in there.

so, how serious is his injury? fecking roy hogdson. we've already lost carrick and cannot afford to lose another player . i hope he is not going to use cleverley for the whole of next game just to make sure we lost all of our midfielders by the end of this week!

he even played rooney 90 minutes for a friendly. just give him a start and sub him after and hour or so, you can test other player
for this friendlies for feck sake. rooney is a guaranteed starter and doesn't need to prove anything in a match like this.

Jones being out for weeks would be a massive blow, when we have just lost Carrick for the best part of two months.

Any update on his injury?

Early team news has already ruled him out of Cardiff. If he is out of Leverkusen away, we are reliant on one of Fletcher, Giggs or Anderson to partner Cleverley.

Fletcher isnt registered for the CL.

If he's out for a protracted period then I think we can expect to see Rooney being forced to play midfield again, which, of course, Rooney fecking loves

Pointless bloody friendlies

Christ, he's still only 21! He's got a long way to go but he's already got the mentality of a true professional, way above his age, a natural leader, he plays in three different positions too.

He's going to be absolutely vital whilst Carrick is out. Please don't do something very Phil Jones and injure yourself Jonesy!

All this future centreback nonsense should stop. He shoould play in midfield permanently shielding the back 4.

Brilliant again, always liked him in midfield and wouldn't mind him getting a run there with Carrick out

When Phil Jones drives a car around a forecourt, it goes up in value.

Our good performances this season depend on whether Jones plays in midfield or not....Says so much about the bloke....he's vital for us this season....Maybe if Moyes had watched Jones at the Bernabeu last season when we dominated Madrid with Jones in midfield then maybe Moyes would have thought twice about buying another defensive type midfielder...Jones is a legend in the making...Not sure if he will ever score too many goals though from Midfield

Phil "The Enabler" Jones aka the greatest human ever.

This guy is so good. Easily, the most important player of our midfield. including Carrick.

He just make everyone play so much better. Giggsy for example, i can't think of him performing like today with any other midfielder next to him. Phil Jones is so Phil Jones!! He was a presence everywhere in midfield, biting the enemy heels non stop, and distributing with class none the less.

It's funny, we all laughed when SAF made that comment on him last season, but he's looking quite the player, Jones. He's our best CM option next to Carrick at the moment IMO.
