Pepe Reina?

Come on people. We all hate Liverpool and this deal ain't gonna happen even if hell freezes over. But to say Reina is not a good GK is just bollocks! It is not that hard to admit a rival player is good.

No thanks. Dont really rate him all that highly and he is a bit dodgy at times as well. I mean he is good, but on the list of keepers I would like us to sign he is actually a fair way down the list.

Who would you rate better than Reina, especially at 12m pounds? Below the 20m mark I can't see better keeper than Reina, assuming he is valued below 20m.

you would suck Fergies balls dry for Owen and you know it!

:lol::lol::lol: is Owen injured again, didn't see that coming :nervous: :lol::lol:

Now, where are those balls again? My lips are puckered. Hold on, just need to get this out:

hahahahahaahhaahhahahahahahahaahahahahahahaha

OK, I'm ready.

Hodgson warns United off Reina

Thu, 28 Oct 10:39:29 2010

Liverpool manager Roy Hodgson has warned Manchester United that goalkeeper Jose Reina is not for sale.

The Spain international was linked with the Reds' arch-rivals earlier this week and Arsenal have been mentioned as potential suitors in the past.

Speculation over the future of Reina - and other star players - has arisen because of the recent instability at Anfield and the poor start made by the club to the Barclays Premier League season.

But the 28-year-old only signed a six-year contract in April and Hodgson has no intention of letting one of his most prized assets leave.

Hodgson told the Liverpool Echo: "It was just one of those stories that seems to occur - it's just disappointing and annoying. Pepe is fantastic here, he is a lifeblood of this team. Everything he does around the club is excellent - he is always lively in the dressing room, he is always first class in training and he always wants to do more to improve.

"He demands better from those around him, he is always pushing people on. He is a player who we hold in the highest esteem. We have heard nothing from Manchester United and, more to the point, we don't want to hear anything from Manchester United. If (Sir Alex) Ferguson is looking around at the end of the season and he has got lots of money to replace (Edwin) van der Sar, he might very well want Pepe Reina because he is the best around."

Acccording to those hacks at the Mirror he engineered an escape clause in his contract this summer, despite having recently signed a six year deal.

I'd take him in a second.

I'd much rather an established top class keeper taking the No1 spot for the next 10 years than a fairly inexperienced De Gea with bags of potential.

Bollocks to Torres and Reina. Player power has gone mad. They signed contracts and they should stay there until the club sees fit to get rid.

No idea where this story came from. I rate Reina but I don't think we'd ever do business with Liverpool, not directly anyway.

What they like in goal?

Not as good as John O shea!!

This rumour is starting to turn into a bit of a shout. Personally i'd find it very hard to believe we'd get him though as if he was to leave plenty of clubs would be interested and they'd sell to anyone but us!!

Also wouldnt pass to much heed to Hodgson. Not like he gonna be making any decisions at the scum come January!!!

Au contraire. If Liverpool gave them get out clauses in their contracts then their perfectly entitled to leave.

And the thread should end here. No way will they come to United. No way

It depends on their contracts. If Liverpool were daft enough to write in a "any club" transfer clause. Then they won't have a choice.

I can't see Liverpool having done that though... surely they wouldn't have been that stupid?

They were stupid enough to renew Rafa's contract.

But we won't be the only teams to show interest. They won't sell to us and I doubt very much we'll be going in there waving our cash around.

One thing I do know about football is that United & Liverpool do not do business with each other.

Never say Never!! ;)

If they have a release clause for a set fee, there really isn't much Liverpool can do if United are prepared to meet that fee.

I'd take him in a heart beat. He's been the best performing 'keeper in the league for the last 3 years imo.
