'Pep' Guardiola sack watch

Embarrassing comments by Pep considering the quality in that team (which he has built) and the way they dominated last season.

Hopefully we're seeing the beginning of the end of his reign, as technically beautiful as his football is the cnut bores me to death.

Makes me laugh how unhinged Pep is, it really comes to the fore when his teams hit a bad patch of form, he starts blaming everyone around him and shouting about spending power. He can't handle pressure very well at all.

most people can't, so he is in good company

Pep was a never gracious in defeat. But this takes the cake. City are aspiring to be at our level. He should show KDB some videos of Lingard. Help develop his game a bit.

Ridiculous comments from him, don’t know what his angle is. The team he’s assembled should be able to compete with anybody, if he doesn’t believe that, why is he even there? City players should be fuming about this.

We all knew that nice guy persona was wafer thin. He's one unstable crank when things go against him.

When City got thumped 4-0 at Everton the mask slipped and he had a go at the press, threatening he'd leave.

He has won the league twice since then but he doesn't have the energy to rebuild and replace teams twice over. When it doesn't go his way he can be quite snappy.

He always plays good and it's the refs fault/4th offcials fault. The other team can never be better than his.

He’s already gone full Mourinho with these statements in the face of bad form. Never go full Mourinho. No inspirational captain to lead by example and now a manager who distances himself from the team at the first sign of trouble.

Welcome to 12 months ago for us. Goater at the wheel by February?

Has he the appetite to build a new team to come back stronger?

It's an awkward one for us, as they're still the best chance of stopping Liverpool next year.

Second best manager in the world behind Klopp. What can he do.

Second Best Manager in the world ? Based on ?

Repeating other posts here, he lucky managed Barca, after won some leagues under Bayern (as good as winning the league in Italy with Juventus), and in Man City he is spending million after million, could be easily 500 million pound more all other teams except Man united of course. And again fail to win any C.L without Messi.

Of course, you can not force him to manage Porto or Leicester to proof himself, but after all we can only said that he is good manger, best world best or second best, given the same amount of time and money for other managers, I believe too many can, would do better than him.

Yes he in world best manager by his frame but not is real quality.

It's all very predictable and formulaic; classic Pep, if you will.

There's no doubt of his place in history as one of the great innovators and coaches, but if he does walk, again, he'll have the hallmarks of the weakest constitution in the bracket of managers he is regarded with, by far.

Arsenal could be more tricky than many are predicting. Like United they have fast and high skilled players in the wide attacking positions so the opportunity to expose again City's poor tactical shape, considering their current personnel, will be there.

Lucky for Pep is that Arsenal have a terrible back line and mid-table keeper so the opportunity to do damage with their also.

Loves it when its going great, soon as teams catch up and start applying pressure he loses it. This summer or next, Pep will be gone soon.

City will have to spend huge in the Summer to challenge next season. It's looking like the players are losing some faith in Pep's tactics.

Liverpool will drop off next season. They, like City will be coming off the back of 2 intense seasons. The millstone that's been round their necks for the last 30 years will also be gone. It's only natural they will lose some of their hunger.

If we get our next transfer window right & make 3 good signings we will have a great chance of challenging next season.

Like they did this season? We all thought they'd only kept close to City through outrageous luck.

Wishful thinking from United fans.

Yep - I don't think United fans have quite done the maths of if Pep leaves, then Pool are going to hotfoot it to a 20th as well.
It's a real stretch to see us challenging next year whatever we do in the summer.

It was also wishful thinking that City would drop off. These things happens.

They've "dropped off" to a position 8 points ahead of us. Imagine an actual proper drop off!

Point was that it tends to happen and that teams have 2 or 3 years then drop off.

Well let's hope you're right eh chief!!
Liverpool winning the Euro, and then 2 leagues to equal us would be the absolute pits.

This is their second so can see them dropping off next season. People talking about them dominating for years won't happen.

Pretty sure Pool fans would have said the same thing when we won our 8th title in 1993. We have to return, sooner rather than later.

Wow, Pep acting like an underdog. Lets swap Fred with De Bryune.

There's a reason Pep doesn't stick around at clubs. He simply doesn't know how to / doesn't have the desire to re-build teams, once a cycle is over and thinks need to gel again (meaning they aren't blowing teams away) he throws a tantrum. If you watch any footage of him at half time in tunnels or the way he speaks to the 3rd assistant when he's losing he comes across as being seriously unhinged, for me he's the most unlikeable manager out of any of the top teams.

BUT WOULD YOU TAKE HIM AT UNITED???

He would NEVER come here. It would take him too long to become top dog again, he doesn't have the tools here for his type of football to take hold instantenously (well, 1.5 seasons maximum) and our board isn't gonna give him £500m to obtain those tools either.

Pep needs a setup tailor made for him to succeed, that isn't United. So no, I wouldn't want him here because it'd be over as soon as it begun.

I see the Pep love-in has been supplanted by the Klopp love-in, but Klopp will also have problems down the line and the love will move elsewhere.

He’ll never be sacked, It'll be interesting to see what Pep does next.

Klopp never gets unlimited funding for his projects. At Dortmund everytime a player starting becoming great they would get poached by another Club. And Bayern picking off Lewa and Götze for practically nothing. Coutinho was off the moment Barca wanted him, but at least they a massive fee from them.

There's a reason all managers don't stick around at clubs. because clubs are run on a short term cycle-basis and managers know they will get a huge payoff.
