City have Nasri, Silva, Navas, and probably De Bruyne playing in his position. We have Young and Mata.

Silva roams almost as 3rd midfielder. That leaves positions open for 3 forwards who i think can be aguero, sterling and pedro..nasri and navas could be back ups for sterling and pedro so theres enough room.

It would be naive to assume we'd be the only bidder. Can see City and Chelsea going for him as well. Do we have the best pull with the Spanish armada though?

They are both more likely to win the league than us. They also both have Spanish players. I'd say Chelsea, City then us.

£22m for a player of this quality and we are screwing around over chub change, yet when we sell players most of the time it's for chub change!

Just get the deal done!

Yes. I'm sure the only reason possible for City to buy him would be to spite United. This place is retarded.

When it comes to settling in with the squad, we have the upper hand in my opinion. I would also put City ahead of Chelsea, Navas and Nasri would be relegated to the bench. Sterling, Silva and Pedro behind Aguero does sound pretty dangerous.

Fans need to get over this 'City are in it to spite United' etc. I doubt City board is made up of Bluemoon like posters. They might be in for Pedro, but that will be because they actually see role for him in first team (I don't know how if they are getting de Bruyne too). This, 'signing to spite' thing rarely happens in football as in the end transfer is a long term game. If City do it, United too can very well get into way of City's targets by bidding higher and make City at least pay way more than planned or worst lure away their targets.

Exactly this. Ever since Ronaldinho just pay the money when its the sake of a few mil, really not worth missing out. And as you say when letting players go for nothing. Or wasting 6 months worth of wages on Valdes for example if we never saw him as a replacement. Few mil isnt worth holding deals up like this.

Maybe more to it. But it doesnt seem that way. Little surprised Barca havent started to get linked with De Gea, you'd think they'd be keen.

They have Ter Stegen.

They have two decent goalkeepers already

Why would City bid above the clause? It makes no sense to me, never mind where he would play etc.
Just the press taking advantage the void between being linked with Pedro and actually signing.
The same that happened with Schneiderlin when he was odds on for Arsenal

Decent is one thing, De Gea is another. Spanish, young, one of the best about. Its hard to strengthen Barca but De Gea would so why wouldnt you be interested. Especially when relatively they have not done much business this yr.

City offer more, surprise surprise. So £50million sterling on the bench?. Doubt it. What would be the point in them getting Pedro and De Bruyne to add to Silva and Sterling?

I would love it If Barca bid 40million euros and take De Gea. Even if we are weak for a year in goal, it would be worth it just so Madrid for once dont get there man.

Sport..the same outlet who have reported this transfer is done about 4 times.

City will be using pedro to show wolfsburg they are not putting all eggs in one basket trying to get de bruyne

so actually this perhaps could be done before our Friday match?. Pedro in the stands at Villa? hahaha

If you find a way to stuff this up for the sake of a quid or two, it'll be beyond ridiculous.

Pedro said he have yet made up his mind, right? That would make Sport's claims of intense negotiations between clubs to be - bullshit

If de gea is available for free next summer Barcelona would be mad not to be after him , he is a level above both there keepers and wouldn't cost them a penny other than wages .

Accountants would probably prefer deferring pay-outs for the balancesheets, but it's ridiculous if this stuffs up the transfer or allows one of our rivals to sign him. Another club even just talking to Barcelona would probably drive up the price again.

If you go by their game against West Brom, then it's this:

----------Aguero------------ (Bony, Youngster whose name I forget)
-----------------------Pedro (Navas)
--DeBruyne--Silva--------- (Sterling)
------------Yaya------------- (Delph)
--------Fernandinho-------- (Fernando)

which doesn't look insanely crowded considering CL and cup games, injuries and the need to have at a couple decent attacking options from the bench.
