This deal is all but done. Probably will be announced very close/at the same time to Di Maria's departure.

I'm really excited, I think he's a cracking little player and will fit like a glove.

Yeah right! And Uberrrrrrrrrrrrrrfootball have the exclusive? Sure he has. This deal is probably much further off than is being reported.

There is a strong chance that he isn't a target at all.

This is going right to transfer deadline day. Jim White will be pleased.

Point is many of you need to stop repeating the same old drivel about the quality of play/players being the beneficiary of inferior defenses/leagues. We've all seen the success of Primera & Spanish talent/teams.

Truth is you could make a highlight video of every match Barcelona has played in CL against Premiership clubs over the past decade where they've dominated the play & ball
A hundred times this.

La Liga teams have some ridiculous record against EPL teams in matches in UCL and Europa. Something like 14 victories in the last 15 ties or so (only Chelsea winning against a Spanish team since 2008). La Liga is 20+ points ahead of EPL in UEFA coefficiets. Almost always when a La Liga teams plays an EPL team (be it top dogs or less strong teams) the winner is known before the match starts.

Of course they do, but they base their game on technical play and will always stand a better advantage as it's more tiring running without the ball. Pedro would be a good signing

Any Spanish speakers care to translate? My understanding is limited to donde esta la biblioteca..

I can't hear properly what he answers but, she asked him if he is leaving and he answers that he doesn't know, then she starts crying.

Well that's encouraging for us at least. :D

We've beaten Real Sociedad and Valencia since 2008, and Barcelona in 2008 itself. Although I get your overarching point and looking at the below link it really rams home how shit we've generally been against Spanish teams

Seems weird that we are waiting for Di Maria to be finalized before we get Pedro. But everything seems to finalised on that front?

Just seeing that fans reaction says it all. I guess we'll see some movement when DM finally leaves. I just hope we get a decent fees for him because i'm sick of us letting players go for peanuts. Pedro will get goals and he's going straight in my fantasy team if we bag him

Di Maria out for £45m
Memphis and Pedro in for £45m

Pretty decent business considering the circumstances.

I was initially underwhelmed with the idea of this but its slowly growing on me.

Whichever way we look at it, Pedro here would probably be a huge improvement over the MUFC version of Angel Di Maria.

Is that 45m now confirmed? Decent fee if true...If not for Ronaldo that would be a club record sale.

That's the main point.

We should have done better in 09.

2011 we had no chance Giggs and Carrick vs Xavi, Inestia and Busquets. Now that was stupidity.
The exact line up the Caf wanted us to play, to be fair. Don't think we even had an 11 capable of winning that game to be honest, but the confidence on here was funny after that team beat Chelsea and Schalke.

Based on? All the journalists on our US tour went with this story the same day they were pictured having a sit down with Woodward. Now the Spanish media are all over it.

We're just waiting for Di Maria to leave and Barca to stop being dickheads and give him to us.

Based on nothing just stating a possibility, all our late dealings have been done without accurate briefing, we sent them press right while we were going left.

I don't particularly care for him, but fair enough. If LVG goes with Depay behind Rooney, I can see the logic. Play him in the Mata role, as it were.

Plus, with Di Maria leaving, it's not insane to bring someone in.

No idea how reliable this is, though. Seems everyone is just jumping on whatever surfaces. I never understood the logic of Woody "briefing" the journos about a player we're actually interested in but haven't all-but signed yet.
