I honestly can't understand how this is anything but a fantastic deal for us.

a) We get to get rid off Lukaku.
b) We don't have to take Inter's offer of lesser money spread over a longer duration.
c) We won't just be selling Lukaku without buying any replacement.
d) It's a player who was world class till a season ago.
e) It's not Jesse Lingard.
f) It's not Juan Mata.
g) It's not Jesse Lingard. This can't be emphasized enough.
h) Even if he turns out to be another Di Maria, moving him on in a year or two will be pretty easy.

It really is such a no brainer when you see some of the absolute crap we have in our attack and are being given Dybala for bloody Lukaku.

You had me at a, and when you get to e,f,g

Transfer request - and lose a massive sum of money? Could be £3-4million quid for all we know. When the transfer is likely to happen anyway, would you throw away an absolute fortune, just so some idiots on a forum can think you “really really want to go to Man Utd?”
Exactly my point. This notion that players just look at United like we fans do is foolish. They go where the money is.

I think we've long left the kind of footballing world where players have a deep love for the clubs they play. The entire sport is a business and that's how we should expect players to treat it as well. Dybala, disinterested or not (this is hugely debatable as well), still possesses infinite more amounts of goals and talents that a so called passionate guy like Lingard.
This is a no risk deal for us and if things go south, we'd easily recover our "money" and get in good money for him. I rather have Lukaku out and Dybala in than Lukaku out and no one in.
The top 4 all have players that play with full commitment and passion for the cause of their clubs.

What sets Arsenal and United apart is that our players give up far or lose focus too easily.

Reports suggest he doesn't fancy United or England. We're discussing that possibility. If it's false, then so be it.
Ronaldo didn't fancy England or United anymore in the summer of 06 and the summer of 08. How did the subsequent seasons go?

I’m on the dybala train for this one, Ronny arrived last season and he took over which affected Dybala (I’m hoping). He’s going to smash the PL( also hoping ):D

Everyone going on about him being another Di Maria - we sold him after 12 months for like an £8m loss. He didn't work out but it wasn't like its the worst deal in history.

If Dybala doesn't work out we'll sell him for a decent fee - probably as much as we'd have got for Lukaku. In the meantime we can play Greenwood, Gomes and James in his place rather than watch Lukaku waste minutes in the shirt.

DYBALA’S WAGE EXPLAINED

https://www.capology.com/club/juventus/salaries

He is currently earning £213,663 per week Gross (£11.1m per year), which equates to £115,378 per week after Tax.

If he is looking a 30% increase, it means his demands are £277,761.90 per week Gross (£14.4m per year). All wages are detailed in England as Gross.

To give some perspective, Pogba earns £290,000 per week (£15.08m per year) and Lukaku earns £200,000 per week (£10.4m per year).

Therefore, Dybala is requesting £4m more per year than we are currently paying Lukaku.

You think Lukaku is the missing piece of the puzzle?
Given the fact that both Higuain and Manduzic are old and maybe moved along they do need a natural #9. Not sure if Lukaku is the answer but they need a striker.

I refuse to believe it till it happens because this is an absurdly good deal for us no matter how Dybala plays for us.
Ya apparently he’s rubbish on here. Same people probably want Maddison over him and wanted Eddie Howe as the manager.

Some people need to calm down. I know Argentina and England have some rivalry, but can we keep that out of here please.

Worth every bloody penny based on that last line !

Come on folks. There’s something very wrong here if that latest ‘news’ is to be believed. Seriously, straight swap of Dybala for Lukaku? Either Sarri has picked up the wrong pack of smokes or Dybala has a skeleton in the cupboard.

Have to say ive not seen any of that. Seen people questioning the mentality of Argentinian’s but not relating it to an Anglo Argentina issue/ rivalry.

Yeh some big racists here.
probably; but not seen any particular evidence of it.

Or Lukaku is a better foil for Ronaldo as he is willing to sacrifice his own game for Ronaldo's which Dybala isn't willing to do?

Lukaku may not fit into Ole's high press system, and his first touch sometimes lets him down when he has his back to goal. But when running towards goal with a ball over the top, he eats them chances up for breakfast. Whip in a cross to the penalty area and he will attack it. In a system that suits him he is a 25-30 goal a season striker. Miles better than Mandzukic and Higuain. Sari was so desperate for a target man striker at Chelsea, that he even signed Giroud. Lukaku is no mug, he will score plenty goals in Italy. Put it this way, he will score more than Dybala.

La Stampa and Max Nerozzi of Gds are the only outlets reporting Dybala doesn't prefer England. Both outlets are unreliable in the current market. La Stampa was very reliable once upon a time but not any more. I'd wait for Di Marzio, Romano and Agresti to report something similar before spitting my dummy out.

Or he just doesn't fit Sarri's plans and Juve see Lukaku as a better fit.

So Sanchez, De Gea, Pogba and then Dybala. I can live with that. Rashford and Martial have already got their deals this year. So our wages aren’t going to be going up big from within the club anytime soon.

Dybala has 70 goals and 35 assists.

Lukaku has 81 goals 24 assists.

So Lukaku has been as good as Dybala in a stronger league whilst playing for weaker/less dominant teams.

Yes, that’s why they offer us Dybala for Lukaku. Otherwise they would have offered us nothing.

But the fact that Lukaku is good per se doesn’t at all mean he can be good for us. Same for Juventus and Dybala.

Regarding salary increase: we give Dybala higher salary than what Lukaku is on - but it may be mitigated by sale of Darmian (his wage will be off), or sale of Marcos Rojo.

I just don't believe this can happen because of how absurdly bad a deal this is for Juve. They'd be just better off swapping Higuain for Dzeko and retaining/selling Dybala for some money instead. It's mental what they're proposing.
