Paulo Dybala

So assuming Spurs get him I guess the wages and image rights thing was pure bollocks, and he just didn't want to play for us under Ole in the Europa? Christ.

If Spurs sign this lad then they've officially become a more attractive club to play footie for that Utd and it's all cause of that damn stadium brewery. Dark times.

Eye opener for some Utd fans. Maybe for some inside the club.

Has anyone seen one of the 2 Lingard "highlights" videos on YouTube? Sift through his self aggrandizing interviews and other droll and you can find them. Enjoy the manic laughter and wildly erratic mood swings. Tragically hilarious.

That's just not going to happen though is it?

If Dybala had spent the whole summer dreaming of leaving Juventus specifically to join Spurs maybe, but there's only one person on this forum (and probably planet) who would think that is plausible.

Im under no illusions Dybala ever dreamt of joining Tottenham but clearly Poch can be convincing, he is a fellow countryman and played to an international standard for them. With Lamela, Foyth and now GLC coming on board I can see reasons why he would be interested.

He's on 210k gross. 115k net. Not sure where all those figures keep popping up. Well inside Spurs budget.

Highest wages Spurs pay for their player is 200k gross for Kane. He will be by far the best paid player at Spurs.

Spurs have the champions league and are in the capital. Some foreign players prefer to be there. Its still not a good look for us to be losing players to Spurs if we have the desire to be in front of them again

Looks like a pretty big 'if' at the moment. From where I'm sitting, United look pretty content to simply tread water.

Huh? He's an attacking midfielder. Yeah I know he can play as a second striker as well but he is an attacking midfielder.
Played there 13 times in his career, mostly played as a cf and ss.

Juve are helping with the wages apparently. They are desperate to get rid of him

You could have given me 20 guesses and I never would have guessed Foyth is an Argentine.

By far is a stretch. He will also be one of the best players so naturally he will be on one of the highest wages.

Also who is to say that he won't receive in the neighborhood of 210-220? Juve desperately want to get rid, might not get as much of a pay rise that we are made to believe.

Dybala to Spurs is huge. Top 3 is basically done after their window.

Dybala either rejected us or we were incompetent to sort out the image rights. Respectively we couldn't bother to spend money on the agent

I honestly don’t think Dybala prefers Spurs over us. Two things that may potentially make the transfer take place are:

1) Dybala has gotten over the initial shock that Juve are trying to offload him and so is more accepting of a move than we negotiated with him. I think we jumped the gun with the media briefing and should have given the player some time to come to terms with what is pretty unnerving news to receive

2) Spurs are more open to work on the complications that exist with respect to image rights and agent fees. I think Ed took the easy way out to save some money by putting all the blame on the player’s representatives.

True and feasible

Even so, we have mismanaged yet another transfer situation

1, I don't think is an issue if that's really the case, we can talk to him again.

But 2, is weird. I think the only explanation would be that Spurs give up on image rights, and for United, that's a no go.

You're still hanging on and not seeing that our clubs reputation across Europe has taken a severe beating over the past 6 years and in the same timeframe Spurs reputation has been increasing. Also they have an Argentinian contingent developing over there too.

then why brief and make it impossible for the deal to be rekindled?
All on Woodward and his incompetence.

I wouldn't even begin to speculate Spurs as his dream destination. But, if Spurs and United are the only ones willing to splash the cash and Juventus really seems to want to get rid of him for some reason... Spurs being a stable top four club, CL runners up, based in London with a brand new stadium, bringing in some good signings and with Poch at the helm... they sure look like an interesting destination.

Perhaps. Or maybe he wants to play in CL and work with Poch instead of playing in Eastern Europe on Thursday nights for newbie like Ole.

I can live with failing to sign Dybala, even though it's disappointing - but to lose him to Spurs, that's a global embarrassment for our club. I truly hope the transfer doesn't happen.

Apparently there is a jet with Dybala on it coming over France and heading towards London , have to love deadline day with all its quirks.

Id say FFP is pretty tight for them and they need another striker, id also say they would want him abroad then to another Italian side.
Yeeeep. Don't think they want to risk getting to the end of August with the only option being a straight swap for Icardi(who might even refuse!)

It is unbeliavable how we did not manage to pull this deal of, especially if you consider the Lukaku asset we had. They could have done anything, swap plus cash, wage split, Juve paying his image right thing, whatever, anything. It couldnt haven been that difficult when even Spurs get it done within a few days and their wage limit. Hell watching his amazing goals compilations now is even more painful.

Makes me wonder why they are so desperate to get rid of him.

Juventus are not FFP compliant. They risk transfer bans or at worst EU competition ban if they don't balance the books. Selling Dybala fixes that. This is why Dybala was part of a Lukaku swap deal.

We need to hijack this deal, it can be done but unfortunately we are so incompetent that it won't happen I guess.

Say what you want about Levy. But if he manages to pull this off, whilst getting Juve to foot some of the costs, Spurs have simultaneously managed to get a great player and made Ed (and us) look like complete mugs.

Again I believe this is going on behind the scenes but until i see him in the white shirt I refuse to believe it. Getting £60M upfront while still having to pay some of his wages will definitely help them with FFP.

Apparently the same private jet that brought Lo Celso to London from Seville last night has now flown from London to Turin this morning.

Dybala risk costing as much as Sanchez with his image rights, plus the reported 16 million euro agent fee.

We already bought a player like that in Sanchez.

AND we already tried the Argentinian experiment with Di Maria. One of the clubs worst failures to date. They are right to be skeptical.

If they lose Eriksen for Dybala I’m not sure that improves them tbh. Spurs will miss Eriksen massively, despite how good Dybala is.

If Dybala signs for spurs this would surely be the moment when Woodward is publicly exposed as an incompetent negotiator. Whilst United fans have long held this view, by briefing to the press Woodward has exposed his own inadequacies to the footballing world at large and has damaged the clubs reputation.

The mishandling of player contract renewals and pisspoor transfer negotiations are now so numerous and laughable that he just surely has to go.

Spurs get Dybala we get Lloriente:lol:
If that happens im going to pretend football dosent exist this year what a joke we have become in all seriousness. We lose out on a player like Dybala cause of image rights due to stingy greedy Glazers and Woodward
