Paulo Dybala

100 million is a big gamble to take. We could easily get 3-4 good players for that amount that would instantly improve our side.

I still think we need a massive recruitment in better coaches and facilities than spunking big on one player.

I would take him in any other window but I agreed we need to spend it else where this summer. I doubt you would get 3-4 players for £100m though, not the quality we need - we would get 2 at the most.

Dybala's been pictured in London, meeting Ed maybe?

Are you sure that's Dybala, it looks like a Spice zombie to me?

In what world does €100m get 3-4 good players?

If he’s available for 30m to 40m with reasonable wages then yes. Anything more than 40m & crazy wages, we should avoid.

1) we shouldn’t be overpaying this guy. We aren’t desperate to sign him anyway, Juventus is just rumoured want to sell him. He’s not a winger & not a clinical striker, so don’t actually need him in desperation.

2) he’s an Argentine and we have very bad history dealing with them, so not worthy to spend big bucks on this guy.
€40m? €50m got us Fred.

Exactly. Aldeweireild (25 mil), Ceballos (25 mil), Tonali (20 mil) and Van de Beek (30 mil) can all be got from the amount.

Van de Beek is not coming here.

I would not be suprised if we Woody goes for Dybala.

Well, I don't know but I would have loved all the four players to be here. That would get our midfield sorted for many years. If wishes were horses.

Do you know roughly what Tonali would cost?

He's a young player who has only played in Serie B. I doubt he would cost a lot, similar to how PSG got Verratti from Pescara for little money. At most, he wouldn't be more than 25-30 mil, considering the inflation.

If we are aiming to become more possessionbased and control the game, then he would be relatively low risk.
His ability on the ball is already miles ahead of most of our players, and if he does not work out we would recoup most of the fee or use him as a 4th/5th option. (The same arguments can be applied to a number of players we should consider signing)

This is the type of transfer that just hasn't worked out for us historically. So I fully expect we'll be all in for him.

I would personally be delighted if united signed him I think he is quality, this year has been tough for him but that's mostly down to Ronaldo arriving . him and 3 or 4 hard working young players would do me

As i'm saying for months he could be played as Lucas Moura for Tottenham. And Dybala is a better finisher.

If he's our first signing before the window opens, at least that shows intent to players we're also trying to sign ie. Sancho. I can't bring myself round to feeling positive though when I imagine Young and Jones in the same line up as Dybala.

Salary at juve not enough to buy a new sweater ?

One of my favorite players of the last few years, but really not sure he’s right for united... and reckon we have way bigger issues to try fix before going for a so called luxury player.

He’s a classic 10 / second striker. I’m pessimistic that he can be part of a front three with a high press.

Then again, maybe Ole wants to play a diamond in the midfield, in which case he is far superior to Lingard.

It would be nice to have someone instead of Young taking corners.

I think he is also a luxury player and good pals with Pogba. I want united to find players like Robertson or Arnold or a Matip(got him for free)

So a huge transfer fee, monstrous wages, player who the club doesn't want anymore.

Well those haven't failed us in the past so let's do it!

No because that would be really fecking dumb.

Of course. It would probably look something like ‘Argentine + club willing to sell + lot of money involved = no!’.

But as you said, that would be pretty fecking stupid.

I thought we weren't targeting big name players anymore? Did that last all of a week?

I doubt that’s the case, as it’s a stupid policy anyway. I mean, Dybala has a ‘big name’ because he’s good at football. Literally no other reason. That applies to many proven good footballers.

I guess we need to focus on the right good players, but they must all be good enough first and foremost.

Perhaps Lukaku with Dybala.

Does Dybala have enough tempo and physics for PL? Or will he be a perfect link/right forward player for United?

"Luxury player" replacement to occupy the position currently occupied by Sanchez and previously by Di Maria? I hope one of these eventually works out. Dybala has a ton of upside potential.

But, before Sanchez, it would look like "Arsenal's best player, running down his contract = Great!!"

Also, "Dortmund player = NO!!"

I believe Brandt and Meunier have a release around that too. We need both in my opinion. An expensive player or two, plus numerous of these lower cost players.

I could see him being a Firmino/Aguero type all round central forward, with good inside forwards either side.

Pretty sure Pep and Klopp has busted the myth that players need to be physically imposing to play in the PL
