So whats the hold up now?, he's left his pen in New York so he has to fly back and get it so he can sign the contract?

"Yes Pogba is going, we're actively looking for replacements now, we'll have someone in the next week or so" If the club hasn't announced anything, then why would Allegri?? Of course he's going to say Pogba is returning for training. Saying he won't would incur a lot of questions and further probing.
He may not have signed, but I bet he fully intends to do so. I am 100% sure his holiday delayed things. I cannot remember who reported it, but it was reported that he wouldn't sign until after the Community Shield, two or more weeks ago. Somebody, clearly had the right contact.

What if they're still writing up contracts tomorrow/fixing details - where do you think Pogba who is expected back at training tomorrow, is going to go? Where do you think he's going to go?....There is no such place as limbo land. If they're still concluding details, not matter how close to a conclusion, he goes training with Juventus. None of the evidence points to a deal having been completed. There is the word of a journalist that it will be done in 48 hours weeks ago and he also said juve were now after gomes literally a minute before Barcelona announced him, his juve connections really look great there.

They have a direct replacement in Pjanic but they are looking at more squad options like Witsel. But same story with Zenit as with PSG they don't have to sell. So it's hard to negotiate a price with them.

Its one thing buying players from feeder clubs or while heading to the retirement home (Ibra is this year's Bastian) and its another buying a top player from a top club. The latter are more complicated and require more negotiation skills. We should have had this deal done and dusted by now.

Was it anything more than paper speculation? I was looking at the in and outs for all 20 PL clubs so far, and none of them have massively overpaid to get a player. This PL clubs are loaded and spending shit tons on average players (which I thought too) doesn't hold true, at least so far.
Mane and Sane so far look a bit too much. They could always come good but for now it's a little high. Stones if he goes through is definitely over priced.

I agree with that part. If we are to believe people like Di Marzio we were just as close to signing him a couple of days after the Euro(almost a month ago) as we are now/were a few days ago. Too many on here using Pogba's holiday as an excuse.

Well if a deal is agreed it doesn't mean the player is ready to play for his new club. It has to be made official. Then he is ready. Same thing here. A deal could very well be agreed. But until the paperwork and all legal issues are fixed and made official he isn't our player.
