You see that's the problem that I have with you, you can't understand that debatting doesn't mean that I'm unhappy, I like Pogba and I'm glad that we are after him but it doesn't mean that I can't look at other options and wonder if the team can be improved with a different transfer window.
Personally I think that Krychowiak is the midfielder that we lack, someone that brings a lot of physicality in midfield and can switch the play with long passes, someone who is defensively sound and gives a lot of freedom to his teammates, Pjanic would have been our creative hub.
Now, if you don't rate them and think that these two players will provide less than Pogba, fair enough.
Kroos will be 27 next season. Hardly young.
Verratti has been nothing but potential for a while now. He's suffered from PSG underachieving in Europe and not stamping his authority on the national side. I don't think favourably comparing Pogba's achievements to Verratti's is anything close to inflation.
Also this forum has a terrible habit of lumping all midfielders into one category as if they're one in the same.
Herrera getting more game time as an alternative to Pogba playing for us is rather grim.

Kroos over Pogba? Kroos is an attacking midfielder whether Pogba is a box to box player. Pogba is younger, much more marketable, much more suitable for our needs and has more potential then Kroos. Can anyone see Kroos being a future Baloon Do'r winner? No. Can't say that about Pogba who hasn't even peaked yet.

God forbid ..what happens if a player bought for an exorbitant price of more than 100mil gets injured ? Money down the drain..? thats why it is sometimes better to spend it on 3 or 4 solid players..

The reports are at the dreaded 'all but done' stage, and that Manchester United are 'relaxed', but yeah, I think we'll get some sort of official announcement from us (or more likely Juventus) sometime within this week. Or hope so, at least.
Honestly, not much. Only in the big Madrid games and the national team. However from what I've seen he's much more closer to be an attacking midfielder than box to box.

Its always the case. In any transfer saga the higher price is the one that is always quoted. When we signed BS last summer everyone was quoting the figure as £14m, even though it was believed to be a lot less (which was confirmed later at £6m).

I am all for signing Pogba, but I can't help but wonder where he will play.
Let's be totally realistic, Rooney won't be benched, if we then use Mourinhos preferred 4-2-3-1 we will likely like up as follows:
back four
Carrick Pogba
mkhi rooney martial
zlatan
That is not Pogba's best position, and he will be exposed in a midfield two in the PL, we don't currently have a DM that can cover him in a two. Ideally we should bench rooney and make it:
back four
carric schneid
mkhi pogba martial
zlatan
But that likely won't happen, atleast not until Rooney stink it up properly as the #10.
Pogba will be a huge transfer, and a great player. But he is not the missing piece in the puzzle. Then again if we go to 4-3-3 it all changes though, but that again leaves us with the dilemma of Rooney.
