Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Pogba is better than Kroos and if I could have only one of them, I'd pick Pogba every day.

Don't care what anybody says.
Debatable. It really depends on what your team needs. Right now I feel we need a Pogba type player more than we need a Kroos type player.

I don't get it. Are those from juventuz forum even local fans ? Why do they even mad? Juventus is a big club but they're seriously deluded if they think people still take Seria A seriously.
It's fecking 100m euro, we pay it fair and square. With that money they don't have to worry about getting involved in matchfixing for few years :nono:. Imagine that.

Meh I don't see it that way. He's no Ronaldo in terms of defensive workrate obviously, but I have never seen him contributing very much in defense. Pretty much the only thing I've seen him do is to try and close down the opposition quickly after loss of possession, but even Messi does that.

You did kind of say that he was defensively strong in general though since you mentioned him alongside Pogba who is a CM.
Messi doesn't do that. Not from what I've seen of Barcelona these past few years anyway.

I didn't mean to say that hes a good as pogba defensively. Just that they could all play together without it being too offensive as they all are able to contribute well on the defensive side (even though they are mainly offensive creative players)

Found this post by Raulmadrid which might explain what I meant
During his four years at Madrid Di Maria always tracked back and defended both when he played on the right and in the middle on the left and not only was his work-rate impressive, his defending was too. He was very good at winning the ball back and shepherding it out of play and a lot of Madrid's counter-attacks were started by him winning the ball back and then either dribbling his way out of the back or by him passing it out. The team became much more balanced when he was put in midfield last year and the defence improved and kept a lot more clean sheets. That said, Madrid had the players around him to make it work when he was used in such a position and I am not sure that United do or if Van Gaal even wants to use him there. All I can say is that there shouldn't be much trouble with Di Maria in term of him not tracking back or working hard, wherever he is put. His attitude and flexibility is excellent and in the end they were what made Ancelotti want to keep him over the more talented but less diligent Ozil.

What? That makes no sense. So what if they are international fans? They arent entitled to be angry? Isnt probably 70-80% of this forum not "local" fans?

What?

Most here are non local fans and would be mad if our club sell Martial.

If we had gone for Kroos, negotiations will have dragged out with Real till end August. And when we finally agree on a price like 70+mil, Kroos will sign a lucrative new contract to stay on with them.

To me, both are about on par. But Pogba is 3 years younger, more marketable, and will get even better.

The others is mainly Di Marzio. That was when the story initially broke. Doesn't Romano work for/with Di Marzio anyway? It's more likely that they would have got a more accurate figure as time passed since the initial Di Marzio article.

With regards to who gives a feck, I do, other fans will. Heck SAF gave enough of a feck to write about Hazard's agent demanding £8m as being obscene in his autobiography. Paying an agent €20m is disgusting and sends out the wrong message about our club to other agents. €20m isn't short change to the club either, they drag our players all over the world on preseason and those games accumulate at most the amount we've just reportedly paid Raiola. I would much rather the club I support was sensible with its money and looked at rewarding the fans, investing more into the local community etc or even waived these gloried oversees friendlies and just played friendlies at home in England, that's far better preparation for the season that racking up thousands of air miles.

Anyway I'm in a tiny minority with this view so I'll make this my last contribution to this thread.
Raiola's cut is written into his contract. It's not an arbitrary payment and someone has to settle it if a transfer has to be agreed.

There have been a number of posts 'defending' what Klopp said.
Most of what he said was stating the obvious.

Here is the question for Klopp though.

If Liverpool had the money we have and Pogba was willing to go there, would they not pay what was asked?

...assuming Klopp wanted him of course.

Certainly they would.

The fact is Liverpool cannot afford the fee and wages.

I'm a big fan of Kroos but in my humble opinion we need a player like a Pogba a whole lot more.

Rightly or wrongly I also doubt Kroos's drive on the pitch vs other players who are put on the same level.

As many have said, getting Pogba at 23 for an out of this world fee is a whole lot different conversation then buying these other great midfielders who are locked into their clubs and who are older! If he wins us a couple league titles, some champions league runs, he is worth even fecking piece of silver.

People who don't think Pogba is a purchase on the level of Neymar, Bale, & Ronaldo just don't get it do they. Why do you think a world class manager like Mourinho is obsessed with him? He can dribble past people like he's Messi, ball control and technique getting close to Pirlo's level, tackle decently well with those long legs of his, and is a more athletic version of Yaya in his prime. A B2B midfielder is arguably the player who influences the game the most on both end of the pitches. It's silly not to pay more for a player who makes more impact on the game as a whole.

Pogba, in his own words, said he wants to become a better version of Lampard. If he can achieve that, he'll be worth way more in a few years. Can't wait to see him on the pitch for us. Don't think he'll make it even for the community shield game. I'm expecting his first start to be against Southampton at OT.

 This! Would be fecking hilarious. Dont even negotiate with Athetico over fees. Just activate his release clause and see everyone panic.
Stop giving ideas to Woody:drool:

Hope he'll thump one in from 30 yards in front of the Stretty

This video has outdated information. Di Marzio and his henchmen have already reported that Utd will pay Raiola and that the final agreement was being drawn up. Don't be surprised if the transfer is announced later today.

UK time I imagine. I'm in the U.S. Atm so I will most likely be missing the announcement. However first thing in the morning waking up to it will be special.
They wont announce it before the market opens on the East Coast which is at 9:30 and it will be 2:30pm in UK.

Every morning I check the caf right after I shut down the alarm clock to see if the thread title changed. Hopefully 7 hours from now that day will come.

You all know he's going to be shit, and most of you guys will say you knew it before he signed.

Klopp is right
Just because he is coming to us doesn't mean we have to be bias
Pogba isn't worth 100m imo. That's the price you pay for Messi or Ronaldo...not a player who still has a lot to prove. He will be under so much pressure to live up to the price tag

Honestly, the price is irrelevant. The club is exceptionally well run financially, let's leave that to the money men. What matters is quality on the field, and building a team. Those are the ingredients that lead to success. In that regard Pogba is (a) the best available player in the world at his position, and (b) The right cog the manager believes he needs to build his team. In terms of expenditure to turnover ratio, this deal is less expensive than Rio Ferdinand was. And even if you look at it in purely financial terms, Pogba will retain an enormous asset value, and hence resale value, for at least 5 years.

United want to be at the pinnacle of world football, and save getting another CO92 generation, then one has to accept that we will have to buy a few of the world's best players to get there. I'd put Pogba in that elite bracket of CMs alongside Modric, Kroos, Veratti, Iniesta, and Busquets. No don't a couple of others I've left out. But you get my point. We have plenty of young players to develop. We need a couple of superstars to build the team around.

On a side note, can you imagine a top player like Messi, Bale, Neymar, Muller etc., running their contract down now? With transfer fees they way they are, it's no joke that they could probably negotiate a 50M signing on fee.

Did you mean to say he's going to be THE shit? Because they mean completely different things. If not why no white text?

I'll be honest. I've never seen him play. I've just built my hopes up so many times over the last three seasons that I don't want another disappointment.

Juve aren't going to care about the US Stock market, if they're the ones that announce it first. Whether we announce it tomorrow or wait days like we did with Mkhitaryan, it sounds like DiMarzio's 48 hour timeline from Wednesday is based on Juve releasing info (which makes sense for him to report since his best contacts are with Juve).
