Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Zidane's quotes mean nothing. He also says again that James will stay. I'm sure Zidane wants him, but they won't fork out the $$$.

He just gives more fuel for the Spanish papers to continue their stories.

Zidane: "But this isn't the time to speak about Pogba. All the clubs would want him & like always, Real Madrid always wants the best."

Zidane: "Pogba is an important player, he's a great player. Real Madrid always wants the best."

Zidane: "Until 31st August, anything can happen (in the transfer window). Today, Pogba is not yet a Real Madrid player."
The "yet" is the most interesting  although you shouldn´t be too worried

We're not close to signing Pogba yet anyway, otherwise Zidane would not have come out and said this if we actually were. Really hope this clusterfeck of transfer will be sorted soon either way.

Define very long

There'll be a £200m player within 5 years easily I'd say. There would be one already if Messi was available.

I doubt there will be one in 5 years. Ronaldo went for £80m in 2009 and we are about to break the record, by around £15m, 7 years on. In the meantime Real Madrid paid £85m or so for Bale. I know there's more money in the game now but not enough to see any player move for more than twice the current record in mere 5 years.

Thing is players like Messi will not be available in their prime.

His quotes mean nothing. They're not signing him.

When it will be official, some fans will still be afraid that it turns out to be a Mikel type signing. We are getting fleeced by Juve and Raiola but we are getting him.

Who was it that said Higuain would be announced Monday/Tuesday and then Pogba to follow on Wednesday?

Ugh this is getting boring... just pay the agent fees already and we all will move on.

We also want to get Herrara before the season starts.

To be honest those quotes don't look brilliant but at the same time the deal looks almost complete from every reliable source we've seen, fingers crossed, still confident this'll come through though.

one other factor (for the hold up) may be Darmain. He was mentioned in conection to Juventus in the Jan window. And we were mentioned with interest to a Brazilian right back.

I would not pay too much attention to the Banuci connection which until recently was more with regards to City.

Pages get added so quickly that people skip a load, and the same discussions keep getting repeated.
This may beat the Vidal thread for numbers, but content-wise, it's shit.
Vidal thread had a heap of shit aswel. half of it is posters laughing at Olly Gifs

The only reason we were getting him in the first place was we were offering more than Madrid ..now suddenly we are not offering enough to close the deal ?

Those quotes by Zidane say it all

Face it he is going to Madrid he clearly doesn't want to play for us and once again we have spent all summer chasing a guy who strings us along when the last thing he wants is to join us .

The sooner we wise up the better and stop setting ourselves up for Real to knock over .

Tomorrow is the day my fellow muppets. I can feel it.

Hopefully by the time I wake up US Central Time, the thread title will include the words BBC, United and Pogba

I'm amazed that people think Madrid cannot afford the Pog. Sure, they'd prefer to get rid of someone to make way, but if they want to, they can easily buy the Pog independently.

real and barca have to many on big wages its starting to strain there spending power

It's not about them being unable to afford.

They won't fork out that money unless someone is sold.

They won't meet Juventus' asking price if no one is sold. They don't value him that much nor do they have a need for him.
