Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Who says they can't? nearly everyone is saying that the Higuain fee will be paid over 2 years.
Like nearly most big deals...

Problem with that being, Juventus will probably buy other players so 100 Million over two seasons quickly goes to 100m a season. Dont start falling into scousenomics.

They dont have a 100m a season to throw about without selling some assets.

Literally every report I've read on other sites today suggests the deal has stalled due to a disagreement over agents fees. Yet posters on here are convinced it's going ahead 'because Raiola is flying around the world'...
So how do you go from a disagreement over the agent's fee, a disagreement between the agent and Juventus, to concluding that the player is stalling the move? It doesn't make sense in the slightest.

Oh I agree. But they can still sell without selling Pogba, if that makes sense.

Back in our day, we only had 20Mb internet and had to wait 0.3s to see the page after hitting F5. Not like these kids of today with their 200Mb malarky! Grumble grumble.

It was so exciting. I remember htting F5, wasting hours while waiting for anything to happen. We didn't have twitter to get instant news and Sky Sports News didnt use the breaking news announcement every time someone had a cold. and those online wars....do you remember Berbatov vs. Tevez thread?

Still no agreement between Man United and Juventus for Pogba. Juve has discussed this afternoon with Raiola. The negotiations continue!

I asked you a question. You respond with another question. The onus is on you to explain how you come to that conclusion. But fine, I'll bite.

It doesn't make sense because this shows Raiola wants to get the deal done and get his due in the process. They will rightly figure that the sum offered by United is more than fair and it's up to Juventus to honour their agreement with Raiola. Pogba isn't going to tell Raiola to drop his share, he has his agent's back. Raiola meeting with Juventus indicates that he might be willing to negotiate about his share rather than outright demanding what was agreed initially. It all points to a deal that is in a very advanced stage and all parties are close to a settlement. No one wants to bend over, so it takes time to settle on the details, but they'll get there eventually.

Juve would never have spent 75m GBP on Higuain if Pogba wasn't happening this summer, installments or not. They won't be getting 120m EUR again, or at least they wouldn't want to take the risk to find out.

I'd like to see us strong-arm them and pay the fees themselves. Don't mind waiting at all.

To be fair, if we pay the 20 odd million or whatever it is to Raoila, it won't just cost that actual amount. It'll cost us much more in the long run when so many clubs and agents expect the same from us in the future.

I'd seriously love Pogba here and I've always been on the 'it isn't my money' side of the argument, but even I'm starting to see the madness in this.

I feel the same. I'm no longer sure I want Pogba, everything seems to be a bit too crazy at the moment.

Why don't we just ban anyone who just posts about breaking records or other crap that is nothing to do with the thread ..wtf is wrong with people lives that that's all they have to think about.

It doesn't help the sinking feeling that this deal is looking more and more like it's not happening .I just hope we have a back up plan that doesn't involve fabregas or sissoko .

Either the player doesn't want to come which very much appears to be the case at this point or we are quite rightly refusing to pay Raiolas cut of the fee which let us not forget was put in as reward for him moving Pogba away from us in the first place..

If the agent fee was made with Juventus then why should we be asked to pay it for them. They agreed to the stipulation and as such should honour it.

I don't see how any of that demonstrates that the deal is agreed with United. If anything it crystallizes exactly what I said in my original post. The player's side is stalling i.e. his agent. As has been widely reported in the press today. I'm not sure why my take on things offends you so much. If you are struggling with the very idea that Pogba won't sign you need to chill man. In any event, I hope he continues to stall and we move on.

Here is a way of looking at the glass half full, no one has mentioned Real Madrid once, its all us, clear skies , smooth sailing to the finish line

The issue seems to be that there is/was some sort of (non-enforceable) gentleman's agreement between Raiola and Juve with regards to a commission should Pogba be sold. Raiola is arguing that Juve should pay up and Juve is telling us to pay his commission and there won't be any issues. Something that we have strongly declined to do. This goes hand-in-hand with what Mourinho said about not being held for ransom. I guess the negotiations now is about how to handle this commission and if the parties are interested in any sort of split payments.

All conjecture but eh...not much else to discuss right now.

I knew dealing with Raiola would be trouble. Dealing with him is like doing a deal with the devil.
Why, all he's doing is trying to get the money juve agreed to pay him.

Doesn't really matter as some posts will probably be deleted. Technically this thread is already larger - at least 400 posts have been deleted.

What kind of posts were deleted?

Bet SAF is saying I told you Raiolo is a twat

See above.

It's not our money though is it? Why some fans care about how much money the club spends on a player is beyond me. I could understand it if the club would announce that they will raise the ticket prices and the merchandise prices because they spent 150M on a player. But it doesn't work that way. At the end of the day we want to see the best and the most exciting players wearing the red shirt, instead of somehow feeling better that the club "saved money".
I didn't say anything about £150m being too much money to spend on players.... I think it's too much to spend on Pogba. I also think United (by not having a max and not saying "xxxx off" to tubbys' fees) are sending out the wrong message that other clubs can just name their price/terms which is poor negotiating and sets a precedent.

But realise in the minority and money's irrelevant now.

Nobody has mentioned Conte and Chelsea either. Or the fact that it was widely reported mid-season that Pogba would prefer to move to London if moving back to the Premier League.
