Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

We have to talk about where Pogba fits. We shouldn't play him in a 2 man midfield, he should have freedom to be the most attacking midfielder in a 4-3-3.

Carrick is nailed on to be the pivot, but who would be the box-to-box in that setup? Maybe Ander can raise his game for next year, but i'm still not feeling 100% confident in that midfield.
BFS surely.

Yeah same. Thread post count is hundreds down, I assume it's to do with that. On that basis you may aswell delete 90% of the posts in this thread

This is what Raiola is wearing in the pool.

He's wearing red Adidas shorts, maybe a hint from Pogba, welcome to 'Agent's Shortsgate'

So you're suggesting Rooney won't be on the pitch? Our front three will be Martial-Ibrahimovic-Mkhitaryan. If Pogba in a three man midfield with Carrick, surely that means Rooney isn't involved. It's what the team needs, but I still can't help feeling Jose will find a way to shoehorn him into the starting IX.

This transfer has been done for sometime. Once Higuian is announced tomorrow the Pogba deal will be moved forward and we may see something on Wednesday.

I don't think there's any doubt that the deal to bring Pogba back to United is complete, and will be announced soon. Even his "cryptic" message from earlier..."we say it all by saying nothing at all", in my opinion, confirms it. The overwhelming majority of reporting, for a good few weeks now, has been that we're about to spend a record amount of money to bring him back to Old Trafford. If this was false, and/or if Pogba preferred to stay at Juventus or move to Real Madrid, it would be very easy for him (either directly or through his agent) to say so - an interview, press release or simple tweet would get the job done. Neither Pogba nor his agent have refuted the rumours in any meaningful way. They've essentially said nothing, thereby effectively confirming that the move is imminent. It will be wrapped up once the team returns to England.

The more interesting discussion, as some have pointed out, will be how to best deploy the player in order to continue his development and maximize his potential.

The price is obviously quite obscene, but the simple reality is that a player is worth what the market will bear. Once this deal is done, the healthiest thing to do will be to forget about the fee and embrace Pogba for the player his is, and can be. He's going to be a wonderful addition to the squad. He'll bring personality, speed, power, drive and creativity to the midfield in a manner which has been lacking for far too long.

I'm going to take the articles that Juve don't need to sell Pogba at face value for the moment. If you were him would you really want to leave Juventus? They've just added two if the best attacking players in Italy to their squad and now have a real chance of going for the Champions League.

They're not affording those players without him being sold, despite what they might say. Moot point.

BFS surely.

BFS would be perfect if he was still the player he was 4 years ago, but we can't trust him anymore. There is strong rumours he will be sold and no one could really say anything against it if he was.

Rooney definitely shouldn't be a starter next year, age has been catching up with him unfortunately.
I have the same worries that we will shoehorn Pogba into a position he isn't used to and won't get the maximum out of him.

I'm looking for a player in the Strootman/Nainggolan/Keane mould to be the last piece in the puzzle for our midfield. We would have to squeeze every last percent out of Carrick for next year and then go for someone like Weigl next year, but that shouldn't be our worry right now.

I am so secure he is here... I am already thinking about us locking down one more signing before the season starts. A big name would love to join this squad.

There's too much money on the table now for this deal to fall through over the agents fee if that's to be believed what is holding up the announcement. They won't get another offer like this and even if they don't need to sell there's no way they'll turn down that amount of cash.
