Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Rooney says hi.

He might be worth £30-40 million? You clearly have been living under the rock for the past 5 years. Now any decent player costs £30 million.

Rooney tried screwing with united and was made to look like a jackass and was made to apologise publicly. I know that the market is inflated but for what he brings to the table, 40 is enough.

I want to put this deal in to another perspective.

Buying Pogba doesn't nesseccerly put SAF in a "very" bad light. Making decisions is part of a manager's job and nobody gets every single decision perfectly right. I would say that a leader who don't make mistakes doesn't try enough.

In a huge club like United there is always political games, individuals who wants to position themselves and people with agendas. That goes with the territory. Sir Alex was a unique leader in many ways. Being in charge for more then 25 years means he was probably one of the oldest employees at the club. That along with his title as a manager gives him extra power. Combine that with unparalleled success and you got a Godfather who's untouchable. Very very few leaders reach that position.

Jose Mourinho has to build his own platform with loyal employees. Same as Woody. They probably co operate in many ways and probably benefit from each other's presence. You scratch my back and I scratch yours...

Getting rid of Giggs was a political statement. Look guys, there's a new sheriff in town. Mou needed to show that he had integrity and enough power to do whatever he wanted. Forcing a club legend out of the door was a message to everybody. I'm the new boss and I do what I want.

Buying Pogba isn't brave from my perspective. On the contrary it's a wise move. A new manager needs a new leader on the field. His own man who embodies his visions. Sir Alex had Cantona and Keane. Mourinho's choice is Zlatan and Pogba. Two charismatic players with huge egos. Just like himself. Good choice!
Agreed. Shit like this doesnt cast SAF in a bad light, his trophy haul speaks for itself. Two managers can have a very different opinion about a player, it doesnt mean one of them is wrong, per se, it could mean he suit one's style more, or the circumstances in the squad might be different, or they have completely different criteria when assessing a player. Or maybe SAF did make a mistake, but he was winning right to the end, anything and everything he did was vindicated to that extent. I think SAF will be content to be judged on what he won, not on random decisions he made about his squad.

Someone wore a Juve shirt to a party in Jamaica and @Adcuth is disgusted by Pogba's vascular legs.

Why doesn't he like vascular legs?

I bought a new kettle. Nothing to report regarding Pogba though.

I like kettles.

United have made bids.
Reports of bids both being rejected and accepted.
Reports of Juventus trying to rob us further.
Reports that all is agreed.
Crerand asking why it's not been announced if all is agreed.
Muppets go crazy suicidal and cum all over the place at the same time.

Thanks. I like Crerand, especially as a commentator. He's so unashamedly biased.

Please don't my Muppet Juices can't hold it in any longer.

I'm 99% confident at this stage of Pogba being a United player next year.

Infact I don't even believe he's the last transfer yet.

So to guess a reliable transfer-price range on Pogba, I've counted Juventus' money and looked at how much above an average budget they are this year:

Confirmed: (Source: Transfermarkt.de)
Miralem Pjanic
32,00 Mill. €

Marko Pjaca
23,00 Mill. €

Mario Lemina
9,50 Mill. €

Benatia (Loan fee)
3.00 Mill. €

Possible transfers:
Gonzalo Higuain
Release clause: 94 Mill. €

Gabigol (40% of his rights)
18,0 Mill. € - Total sum might be more to gain the remaining 10,1%

Total sum: -176,5 m Euros.

So how much does Juve spend in average pr season?

2015/2016: (Earnings minus expenditure in transfers - Source transfermarkt.de)
- 56 mill Euros

2014/2015
- 17 mill Euros

2013/2014
+ 12 mill Euros

2012/2014
- 50 mill Euros

On average that is:
- 27 mill euros pr season.

Which means that with the total sum so far, including Higuain / Gabigol has spent:
152,5 mill euro ABOVE what the average spending season for Juventus has been over the last 4 seasons

Edited: Included Benatia

There are a few points you have missed.

1) Reports that Higuain payment is over 2 years, half now half next season

2) they have sold Morata for 30 million and have Zaza and Pereya selling which will get about 40 million for both.

actual out lay this year is much less than what have mentioned and could be even less if they move on Zaza and Pereya

So we're essentially going to pay €156m (that's including Raiola's 20%) for Pogba.. Crazy money, but we need him.

I pointed this out a couple of days ago, but apparently according to some posters who shall remain nameless, Juventus have unlimited funds and can spend what they like

Regardless they are not paying Huguain's fee unless Pogba is sold. They can sell it how they like. It wouldn't happen.

I really don't know what to make of this anymore ..so many people sayings its done yet we seem further away than ever ...all the parties involved .juve, riola ,pogba and Woodward literally miles from each other .

I'm coming to the only conclusion there can be, something clearly is wrong and the chances of him signing now are slim to none sadly

If that was the case I'm confident that we would see reports of United pursuing other targets.

Do you think they all need to be in one room to do a deal?

Me too! I'm also choosing to treat my feelings as facts for no reason other than I feel like it

Fair enough but just wanted to correct some of what was being said. I think its rather obvious he is being sold. Only issue is if madrid may swoop in for him last minute. I for one dont think that will happen

I always get scared when "Nothing has happened (for those who get scared by the removal of a bit of text)" gets added to this thread title :nervous:

So Di Marzio has stated that Paratici and Marotta are need to finish the Pogba deal. Both are at Juve HQ today.

I think we should get answer soon

Same but who knows what to believe anymore.

Di Marzio is the only source you should pay attention to.

He only updates when there's something of note to mention. Most people rehash the same stories, he said about Raiola going to Miami when others said it was done.

He also said the deal was not yet agreed when others said it was finished the deal. He's the one on the money.

I'm thinking it might be the Higuain deal that gets announced first, followed by the Pogba deal a few hours/days later. Or maybe they'l be announced at the same time?

Anyone else think if we could harness the power of the posts in this thread we could power the world? this is like renewable muppet energy if they could bottle it like on Monsters inc.

Every time @ehsanul worries about Madrid there's power for months.

Don't think Juve or United will announce the Pogba deal tonight when Ed and Jose are still up in the air yet to get back to Manchester. If the Juve officials at HQ tweet is anything to go by, it will be perhaps to announce Higuain which isn't a bad thing from United's point of view

I keep hearing this but I really dont see it happening. Infact, if they could do it, they would have done it already.

Unless you have a sure sell player like Madrid had with Di Maria, there is no way you sanction a big transfer like this. Juve are way too tight to be gambling on a deal like this.

Agreed, Juve wouldn't be paying an astronomical fee for Higuain if there wasn't a big sell. 40 Million with Zaza and Pereya doesn't cover the costs of players like Benatia and Pjanic nevermind the cost of Gonzalo.

And if nothing happens ... you won't be back?

Now I'm conflicted.

No because as soon as something proper happens be it staying at Juve/leaving to United the thread will be closed surely  a new fresh one will be opened in United discussion or player performance.
