Allegri sounds like a man trying to prepare the Juve fans for the departure of Pogba. This and that, strong squad, bla bla

Can you blame him? Its a big blow for Juventus and the fans. Its a hugh sum they get for him, but he is not easy to replace.

He left because he wanted to play. If we could give him that he would have happily stayed. We didn't give him any promises and he left. He just did what was best for himself.

How do you know that? He left despite being a teenager at one of the best clubs in the world. As I say I just don't feel comfortable about this guy. Let's sign someone who truly wants top lay for United.

He even said it himself. His breaking point was Sir Alex going on and on about how good a talent Pogba is and then bringing Scholes out of retirement. There was also the case with playing fullbacks ahead of him in the league. I would have left if a manager showed that kind of lack of trust in me. I think at some point Sir Alex stopped caring about the long term future of the club and just wanted to get one on Manchester City before he retired.

Because he said so multiple times later? He wanted to play. SAF chose to play Rafael over him and later brought back Scholes who was retired. It's not like he left United for money. He was on the same wage he was on at United. The only difference seems to be that he got chances to play.

Like the bunch of shit kickers we currently have?

It's pretty well publicised by both player and Fergie that he wanted to play and is why he left. Pogba did change his mind but it was too late.

I get the feeling that this transfer just isn't going to happen. The James bid, who else could it have been other than us, pursuing other targets. Whos left we could get? Matuidi, Sissoko?

Why do we have an extensive scouting setup if we are buying established well known players, why cant we unearth some gem somewhere.

I've snapped I think. Don't think we're not even properly in for him.

Get a grip you nancies. It's happening, it's happened, it's doing, it's done, it's in the bag, it'll be complete as soon as it's ready to be. There is nobody else after him, and nobody else we truly want.

Ipso dipso.

Do you know the sort of players who'd "lay for United"? They're currently mostly plying their trade in the lower leagues.

Some of you lot live in a fantasy world.

PSG? China? Also, James' position is not comparable to Pogba - why would he be an alternative?

West Ham were after James and looking to offer stupid money for him as they have been doing for other players all summer, I presume it was them.

Yup. And how often do we have to go through this? He left because he wasn't given e fair shot.

For those who want to argue that point: Rafael and Park in CM.

With regards to the smoking, I'm almost willing to bet that Pogba was smoking a shish stick rather than an e cigarette.

Wtf? Of course not. Smoking and drinking are detrimental to an athlete (who is paid millions to stay in as good condition as possible, goes without saying you stay away from stuff that are toxic to your body)
I'm sure Pogba smokes the odd doobie - his dabbing celebration is based on that!

Juve could have bid for him with the huge money they are getting for pogba

Definitely China I reckon. They love to sign South American players, and chucking ridiculous sums at clubs. Nobody else would pay that for James. But he obviously wasn't interested in leaving Madrid for that rubbish.

James is a no.10. We have Mata and Mikitaryan for that role. Pogba is a no.8!

Panday: "#Pogba allo #United? It would be a momentous transfer. But it's #Bonucci the irreplaceable to #Juventus" gianlucadimarzio.com/news-cat/perin…

Sounds encouraging!

This is slightly concerning for me, is Pogba really ready to play as a No.8 in a 4-2-3-1 formation with all the responsibility that comes with the role? Or are we going to shift to a 4-3-3 (which I gree with) but if we do what do we do with the likes of Rooney, Mata?

Maybe we are letting this one slip away

I would see the funny side if Madrid swooped in and snapped him up....and they could so easily if they really want him

Those that worry about Real are right to worry

Tancredi is Bein Sports rep, right?

He seems to think this is done, along with Richard Keys.

€145m being the total fee.

Openly talking about the Pogba transfer and saying only Bonnuci is irreplaceable

I agree. I honestly think we made a few bids but are now looking elsewhere and Real are ready to pounce.

Juve taking the piss with what they're demanding if those tweets are true. Just tell them to piss off.

Real Madrid can't afford him without selling, James now wants to stay.

There's no way they will pay Raiola his 20% commission fee either.

They've been priced out unless someone comes up with £70M for Morata.
