The real question is, can I Cartmen style lick your tears?
We were actually furious four years ago when we let him go. Now we're just delighted that we're getting a world class midfielder.

It's nice to be back to that point again where people are constantly taking shots at us instead of pitying. Feels right.
Feels like its been a decade ... 2013 feels like years ago jesus. It's nice to be back to that point again where people are constantly taking shots at us instead of pitying. Feels right.
Extended leaveMust keep calm till I actually see him at Carrington If he signs will he join the squad in Shanghai or will he be considered on extended leave due to Euro?
Damnit!! I thought I was going to keep calm and not talk about it
Yeah, that's exactly what's been reported earlier by several Italian papers/journos.Not sure if is true, but ESPN posted this. Juv rejected initial Pogba bid.

Mourinho, without even a single competitive game under his belt, already gives the impression that his signing might be the most important one since Cantona.
In a span of two months, without kicking a ball, we became again the most talked about club, signing whoever we want, out-muscling Madrid and Juve, and getting back to be hated and respected.
Even though we did sign world class players like Di Maria and Basti under LVG, it didn't even come close to the vibe and aura that Mourinho produces.
ESPN soccer is nothing like ESPN for other sports. Don't listen to it.Not sure if is true, but ESPN posted this. Juv rejected initial Pogba bid.

Pretty much. And the Pogba deal discussion would have started back then tooWoodward made that decision from January... for that i am convinced

(Also ESPN is a joke in other sports now as well)
For me, it was a nice change at first to see people showing concern for the way our club was being run, but after a while it just didn't feel right. This is how it should be. Hated, adored, never ignored.very true. it's great to see the hate back in force on the mainstream media comment threads. we're doing something right. i'd have been pleased with this transfer window if it was my fm save!!
It's gone by in dog years. At least, that's how it has felt, hasn't it?Feels like its been a decade ... 2013 feels like years ago jesus.
Jose, Bailly, Ibra, Miki and Pogba.Griezmann?
Is the consensus that Juve have only rejected the first offer as a way of saving faces and making it seem like they've done everything in their power to keep Pogba?
It sure seems strange that journos report that we are going to make an offer which is going to be rejected - before the bid has even been placed. If that's not the case, how can we be sure that they will accept the next bid - and that United are even willing to pay the supposed asking price?
Ah, that's right. But it still seems funny that they reported that we had a bid rejected before the bid was actually placed, no? It does seem a bit like play to the gallery.According to the Italian press we bid 100 and were countered with a 120 asking price. So thats what has us kinda pumped that we will eventually have our 2nd bid accepted
12 months? Nah, not unless everything goes wrong and we miss the CL etc. Why would he join us now, when we're not in the CL, and then leave us when we're(most likely) in the CL and in a much stronger position 12 months from now? Doesn't make any sense. Then he could just hold out for Madrid/Barca now or stay put for a season or two at Juve until one of them come knocking on the door. It's not like he's being forced out of Juventus á la Di Maria. Quite the opposite. He's apparently turned in a transfer request to come here. This is going way too smoothly. I have a creeping feeling that Pogba is just doing this to spite United and will come back to Juve before going off to Barca or Real in 12 months.
agreed but as far as im concerned this fiasco is all for show and its probably been agreed weeks ago especially after madrid pulled outAh, that's right. And why would we sell him in a year?

Ahh, I'm sorry. Missed the "will come back to Juve" part. Then it makes sense. But yeah, I'm not certain until it's official either.Nah, I meant to say that (I have a feeling) this saga won't materialize with Pogba in an actual United jersey, then he'll hold out for a move next year to Real or Barca. Again, just a hunch since things are going way too smoothly. Would obviously like to see him here!
The poor juve fans acually thought they could some how match his wage demands while also acting like they were in a 90's shopping spree competition buying up all the players they could get their hands on, When previous years they have been the Ebeneser Scrooge of europe.Could be the case, look at the very first post in this thread for example, Castles who has been very well informed all summer said that it was Juventus who had asked for Raiola to find other clubs for Pogba.
You pay more for young players with potential then already established ones. Especially those like Pogba as he is as close to a safe bet as anyone, as he's already a proven top player. He isn't just a "potential", though he isn't world class yet. The fees are insane regardless and a large part due to our previous situation with him, but I wouldn't worry about him not working out or not being able to recoup most of the fee from selling him on.
Gotta ask, how do you know? You privy to Uniteds account details?
That's what I can't grasp about the "too much money" argument. No one here knows anything really about our money situation or how much that £100m is going to be missed.
Most of all it baffles me that people seriously think that woody and Co haven't worked out if they can afford this or not. Next we'll all be down in London telling the bankers what to invest in.
I hope so too. But AFAIK he's coming back from the US sometime this week, and as long as he's in Europe I'm sure he's going to fly to Manchester to get his medical - even though he's officially on holiday. Or even get it done wherever he's staying. That seems more and more common.Hope when Juve agree - we at least announce the standard agreement reached with club and player and now pending medical. With Pogba on holiday, there is going to be some serious nervous nellies and lots of "if this was going to happen, then it would have been announced by now" if the club wait to announce after his medical.
ESPN has some of the best insiders for the NFL, NBA, and baseball. That being said, they wouldn't be my first source for soccer rumors.ESPN soccer is nothing like ESPN for other sports. Don't listen to it.

Would be in the club's best interest to not announce it (if it was done). More time spent in the news cycle the better in terms of PR.Hope when Juve agree - we at least announce the standard agreement reached with club and player and now pending medical. Seems like United support on twitter split over this because we let him go for peanuts/he walked out. Surely if Pogba wasnt a former player we would still be interested in a talent like him especially with our financial strength.
