Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

Calm down, some haters thought it'd be fun to ridicule me with that tagline because I was right one a-time to a-many for them. I haven't said anything about this, I focus mainly on football forensics, tactics, predictions and analysises rather than transfers. Guessing just like everyone in this case.

Higuain is a huge name in the serie a, he's been kezmanning that league.

The league isnt the issue. They can win that blind folded. Its the CL they want and only thing i could see them trying to use to stop pogba from leaving

It doesn't take a rocket scientist to work this one out lads. Juve are not this rich! They're spending a fair amount as it is by the looks of things, but if this Higuain rumour is true (It looks like it is), then that is a huge red flag. When's the last time Juve have been willing to potentially spend as much as 75-90 Million Euros plus wage on top of it for one player?

Pogba is not going to be convinced to stay now, Juve are already planning for life without him. This wouldn't be happening if he wasn't leaving, it's insane spending, a chump like fecking Zaza departing isn't financing this outlay. Pogba is set to become the most expensive player of all time, with a massive wage and his agent pocketing 20% of the transfer fee. This is done, no doubt about it.

If they sell Bonucci to city that would raise a lot of funds. :nervous:
Bonucci is italian, he will stay at Juve. He will renew for a higher salary.
By selling pogba not only juve get to buy higuain but also renew important contracts of other players like bonucci.

Saying that Juventus would have a wage issue if Higuain is signed and Pogba/Bonucci stay.

it's likely pogba is not thinking as far ahead as all those misses in the past three finals, maybe even unaware of the Copa America crap and just seeing what he did everyday in the serie a and thinking he will replicate that in the cl. Players nowadays are not necessarily smart on footballing matters as ex player pundits are showcasing day by day.

Hopefully that is the case, its definitely most likely. Still there is a tiny concern they could cash in on Bonucci instead.

Makes sense. From the knock-on effect too. If Higuain comes in as top earner, a couple of players might be knocking on the door enquiring about their wages, perhaps led by Pogba.

I'm convinced this is what's happening.

Didn't Tottenham spend the Bale money 1st then sell him to Real Madrid too?
Yeah, there's a certain amount of logic to spending it before people realise you've had a windfall and up their prices.

With defenders lasting longer in Italy and with them knowing that Pogba will at some point leave, they have two choices. One is to lose both players within the next 2 years or lose Pogba and retain a great Italian defender for potentially the next 6+ years. I don't think it's a tough choice between the two and I agree with Maradonna10. It would make a lot of sense. Even without Pogba, they are in good shape.

If the rumor about Raiola owning 20% of pogba's registration rights turns out to be true, then it goes without saying that we never had a chance of extending his contract.
I think you're on to something. Although I don't think Raiola had a 20% stake in him whilst he was at United.

Everyone knew Pogba was a sure a thing and Raiola could have used Pogba's playing time frustrations to get a slice of the pie. He was offered a new contract by SAF but by then his mind could already have been made up. Raiola moved him to a slower, less wearing league knowing that Pogba would be able to show his ability then get a big money move a few years later to one of the bigger clubs.

You have to think the likes of Real, Barca and Bayern would have had Pogba on a free after United as well as a host of other clubs in Germany and Spain, but he ended up at Juve with a contract that ensured Raiola 20%. Astute management from Raiola to ensure he gets the most value from his stake in Pogba.

well lets hope our Pogba is a smart chap and can see past a few Serie A goals. :D

So them paying Higuain's release clause is holding up the deal how?
Its all quite logical. Juve probably tried to get him for cheaper, but Napoli demanded the release clause. Remember the Arsenal links to Higuain the other day? My guess is that was leaked in order to push Juve to pay the release clause. Juve have also signed Benatia and been linked to a few others I believe. A deal as big as the Pogba deal takes time, especially since the player is on holiday and was playing for France just a few days ago. Rather than wait around for the money to arrive, Juve went out and spent it. Getting deals done and setting up the team for next year. Its just good business.

Napoli owner / president has said its a hoax. Juve will have to pay the clause i think.

Like someone said though, surely those other clubs can figure that out if we can?

In Premier league third party ownership os not allowed. So that is false. United owned pogba. It may have been when he went to juve that Raiola might have inserted like that.

I've just edited my post to include that Raiola wouldn't have had a stake in Pogba whilst he was at United. Hence moving him and getting a stake.

That's what I'm wary of. Benatia replacing Bonucci...
He is replacing Barzagli who is 35 and will retire at end of season.
Have you ever seen a great italian player leave italy for england ? All rumours about De rossi and pirlo and gattuso down the years. Yet they never leave. He wants more money he will get it.

He's replacing the 35 year old Barzagli.
That's eased my worries, thanks lads

It's been quite obvious to me for ages this has been done. It's a great deal for all parties involved.

We get the player mourinho wants.

We get a star that Woodward wants.

Juve get a record fee for a player they would potentially lose for less in the future.

Juve can sign 3/4 other players to strengthen their team which usually they couldn't afford.

Pogba earns more money and becomes an even bigger star in the premier league and with Manchester United.

Raiola gets his Woodward bonus and a pat on the back.

It ticks all the boxes, I just can't see it failing.
Thanks for saving me the effort of repeating all my posts in this thread all along :) The fact Juve are spunking cash all over the place only means one thing. Pogba is coming home. One or two more signings means this summer will be the most magnificent transfer window ever. Juve are not doing too badly either. Win, win for all parties.

Di marzio saying Juve have financial resources to sign higuain without selling pogba:eek:.

Like someone said though, surely those other clubs can figure that out if we can?
true but equally juventus can say nothing is decided so we can't spend exorbitant amounts on a player when we simply don't know if we'll have the money. Consider how much more players cost when we buy them because the seller always knows for a fact that we can afford it.

Bloody hell. They're going to sign the two best players from the 2nd and 3rd place sides in the league.

They are being bayern. Lets see if Pogba stories emerge if higuain gets sorted. Either way this saga wont last too long.

Fed up with hearing about this, now. It just isn't happening at this point IMO, I can honestly just see him staying at Juve and going for the CL.

Mate, don't doubt Acquire Me.

He says it's a done deal. He's ITK.

I think the more it drags on(until the charity shield), the better our chances.

This thread swings from "Not happening" to "Happening" and back so drastically!

Have a little patience friends, this is a huge transfer to sort.
