9/10 it's for people to lose their money. I'm sure Joses will convince the player. It's a pity LVG did such a lousy job.

100 million, we could get two great midfielders for that price.

Sure. Throw out some names.

And while you're at it throw out the names of their agents and then we can "guestimate" the likelihood of said players choosing to come to Manchester United for $50 million each.

Oh, and each would have to be noticeably better than Sneiderlin, Schweinsteger and Herrera.

Waiting.

My apologies. The initial site was in Maltese and tend to be fairly reliable (in politics). I didn't knew it picks sports from beano sources

Bayern wouldn't have sold him. We offered 100m euros for Muller last year and Bayern said no. Id Imagine they would want over that figure for Lewa.

Don't Bayern tend to go all out to keep their German players though? I think if Lewa thought Madrid were about to make a serious offer he'd probably play hell for a move. I know his agent has spoken publicly about his ambition to play there.

Your sarcasm is bad.

Matuidi, Kyrchowiack, William Carvalho, Kante, Kroos (if real are selling which is unlikely), Andre Gomes.

Dam, I didn't even know Maltese was a thing. If nothing else, this thread served my personal education.

well by your own admission Kroos is out and would definitely go for crazy money anyway and Kyrchowiack has already signed for PSG

so that leaves Carvalho, Kante and Gomes. Honestly i would rather just sign Pogs than have any combination 2 of those 3

Most of those are nothing like Pogba though? We're crying out for his type of player.

What type of player exactly?

Having watched him the past two seasons he has maybe 10 good 90 minutes to his name. There's a couple nice moments in there but he's too easily kept quiet for the money they're asking.

He's not going to grab the game by horns and win it for us, teams won't give him the time he has on the ball in the Serie A.

Having less time on the ball will improve him if anything because everything will be done at a snappier pace. He's a very technical player. A quicker style of football would suit him. He didn't look out of place in the games he played for United at 19. In terms of the basics, he's consistent. If a team uses him as a focal point, he will be fine but he's also an inspirational player on his day.

Having a discussions about different opinions is essence of football forum but when i see some presenting their opinions like its based on some football knowledge...:lol:When in reality football fans know feck all about real thing. Calling manager/s or Ed clueless, this and that...i mean this "we can get X world class players for that money",based on what you making that statement to sound certain almost as 100% fact?!

If anything, Pogba has played in England for several years and has even played in the first team a few times, so I don't think adapting to the pace of the games in England would be a problem.
And saying he can't grab a game by its horns is questionable as you can do just that with a killer pass into the final (which Pogba when even playing badly can do). Of course he doesn't have the ability to run past 2/3 players consistently at pace like say a younger Ronaldo or Bale, but he gives more than any midfielder we currently have in the squad and a lot of which is much needed.
If the question was is the investment of £100m better spent elsewhere, it is hard to say now. But what we do know is that the past 2 seasons we have bought quite a few players in the £25/30m range and they haven't exactly considerably strengthened the team. So perhaps spending bigger on fewer players is a better way about it.

Odds aren't the most reliable but about 10 minutes ago juve were odds on for Pogba to stay now shifted out to 11/4 and United from 11/10 now 1/4 fingers crossed skybet btw

United went from being 2.0 to 1.29 very quickly.

Someone must have put quite a bit of money down on Pogba to United.

Why are people coming out with just random names of midfielders? We have plenty of midfielders like you've just mentioned, bar Kroos. We need a midfielder who can unlock a defence, with a moment of brilliance. These midfielders are very few and far between.

So, can people just stop blarting out any player that plays in midfield and mention a midfielder like Pogba.

The problem with debating Pogba's worth is that its all about projecting his growth and improvement.

Right now he is a very good player but not yet anything truly special. If I had to win a game tomorrow, I'd take a player like Rakitic over him in a cocaine heartbeat. His value is completely tied to the fact that he is this good at 23. Its absolutely reasonable to expect him to get better but how much better is the big unknown. If he gets only marginally better and is close to the finished article right now, £100M will be a ridiculous price. If he truly takes his game to new levels and becomes one of the top 10-15 players in the world (a level he is not close to yet IMO), then £100M will be a bargain.

This is a lot different than a big transfer like Bale or Suarez, who were already good enough to deserve massive fees just for their established level of performance. I think it is closer to the situation with Neymar, even though Pogba has played a much better level of competition and is significantly older when (potentially) bought.

This, if 1 more person suggests William fecking Carvalho as an alternative I think I'm gunna scream.

Twitter is convinced Pogba is coming to United because Pogba & Ibra ate at the same place today and the Chef posted a pic of himself and Pogba saying MUFC bound.

Got to love twitter!

The 100 million is the right number, we want Pogba and that is what its going to cost to take him away from Juventus.

Interesting about the sudden big shift in odds, its not exactly conclusive news but still nice to see.

Don't lie, you are buoyed by the news and are looking for reassurance in here to see if you are right to be delighted.

I also saw this. The chef is convinced Pogba told him that he is going to Man Utd.

Interesting if true. But probably a load of guff!
