Yes, and in that case the player chooses which club he prefers, but based on the only metric available to us, when only one team tables an acceptable offer, surely the team that offers said offer beats any other team also vying for the player.
Not sure what this is supposed to mean but if it means that we win because no other club can match our bid then I agree. At least we win against Juve.
However if Perez wakes up tomorrow and decides to pay the asking price I would be willing to bet everything that he is Real 's.

again, Pogba is not good in a two-man midfield.
The reality of football is that it's not played on paper. A formation might suggest a "two man midfield", but modern teams are tactically sound enough to employ different shapes on and off the ball. Defensively, that two man midfield is supported by the 3 that play behind the striker, specifically the 10 might drop deeper to form a midfield triangle. I do agree that he's probably best when given more license to get forward, but he has one hell of an engine, and saying that he's not good in a two man midfield sells him a bit short! Few teams really play an old school two man midfield (akin to the 4-4-2 of old) anyway, so defensively or offensively he'd get support.

So what?

I doubt the price tag would have any effect on him if we sign him. I can only see it being a positive and I would expect him to be ready from the get go.

This is like waiting for christmas day, with the added stipulation that you don't know when christmas day is going to come.
so, it's not like Christmas day, but more like the birth of your child, with the added caveat that you might not be the father?

Top post mate, do agree, think the FIFA/Football Manager stuff made some people lose insight to this (myself included).

surely this is the greatest ever transfer window on paper we would have ever had, especially if you include the signing of Jose himself. Hope this gets finalised soon. it would just bring such a buzz and great expectations to the club, fans, players, staff and such. plus he's one of our own. he has a manc accent for fecks sake

CB? Smalling?
Aguero. Kane.
Hazard. Sanchez. Silva. De Bryne. Mahrez.

no. we are not top in EPL or top 5 in Europe. But with Jose, we can compete somewhat.
This bit about being the best 11 in the league might be debatable but you throwing out there players who were massively under performing last season doesn't help your case.

Aguero spend most of his time in an hospital bed, Hazard should have been sued by Chelsea for stealing wages last season, Silva was a ghost of himself 2 or so years ago, Sanchez was hot in patches(though still far better performer than the previous mentions).

You're practically rating these guy as they were a few years ago which isn't exactly the right way to go about it. Otherwise we'll also be talking about the days Rooney was a top class player and such.

That is one way to put it

it wasn't a few years ago. hazard was player of the year in 2014-2015. Aguero led the league in goals. We nearly bid 60m for Kane. Sanchez was knackerd. He played wy too many games with Chile and Arsenal.

No one cares if you think he would rather go to Madrid. Let's move past that.
If you read this thread a lot of ppl seem to care about "beating" Madrid in the transfer market so please keep your advice for yourself.

Any Frenchies watching TF1 right now? They've got this long interview with Pogba's mum, and they just asked her if he's leaving for Manchester after the final

Let them win since it's a United forum. It weren't advice.

Cheers mate! Definitely agree, it's one of my pet peeves! Either way, I think Pogba will kill it with us.

Schneiderlin Pogba

Mkhitatryan Rooney Martial

Zlatan

Looks great to me

Personally I would swap Rooney for Mata and be in love with that lineup. (I think Mata and Zlatan would work well together) but I seriously doubt Jose would ever go for that
