CB? Smalling?
Aguero. Kane.
Hazard. Sanchez. Silva. De Bryne. Mahrez.

no. we are not top in EPL or top 5 in Europe. But with Jose, we can compete somewhat.
Smalling was excellent for most of last year. Sanchez had an awful season, Silva has been a liability for City, Hazard looked like a pub player at times last year, De Bruyne is very good and so is Mahrez. It's not outlandish to suggest Mkhitaryan is better than any of them, same goes for Ibrahimovic being better than Kane who only scored 2/3 the goals Ibrahimovic did last year or the endlessly injured Aguero.

Yeah, even more so when you consider City's players are still getting rated as they were 3 years ago, their spine of Kompany, Toure and Silva are all well past their sell-by date and they only edged us to fourth on goal difference. They only have a few real quality players whereas I feel we (for the first time in years) have huge quality across the first team.

Exactly this, City's squad finished level on points with us, that's it's level. They have since added a midfield crock whilst we have added 3 of Europe'a top performers from last season in Zlatan, Miky & Pogba (if it happens).

they badly underperformed. Not to mention Pep's coming fecked with their heads.

City's transfer plans seemed to rest on whether or not Pogba left Juve, if he didn't they may have been able to sign Bonucci and Kroos if reports are to be believed. Which means not only have we signed a quality player but also hamstrung our rivals.

this is escalating quickly. I'm going to stop. In my opinion, Hazard isn't a pub player, Silva isn't a liability, and Ibra is not better than Kane or Aguero, not yet without playing a single EPL game.

No, they were shite. As they were the previous season.

Aguero can't play a full season, Silva looks shot as does Toure, Kompany is write-off, Sterling is crap, as are their full backs. Hart is awful too and will no doubt be replaced by Pep.

KDB is the only current top top not perma-injured player at the club. (Aguero is obviously the best striker in the league when fit).

City have a better squad, Arsenal maybe too.

Not sure about City. Their defence is garbage. Their full back situation has been poor for so long, I don't know how they managed to get away with being so bad in those areas. Their central defence is ropey. Kompany is huge when he's fit, but how often is that? Otamendi and Mangala seem capable of spectacular moments, last ditch tackles and the like, but can be total bomb scares. Their midfield could be good if Gundogan returns to form and takes well to the league, but Yaya is naff these days. Fernandinho is solid, Fernando is not. Up front, KDB is top class, but Silva is clearly on the decline. I'd say Aguero's injuries have really taken their toll as well. He's lost that explosiveness that allowed him to skip past defenders. Sterling still has it all to prove. Nasri is a nothing player. I don't know much about Nolito. Oh and Joe Hart is Joe Hart.

I think Guardiola has a bigger job of refreshing the core of what is still mostly Mancini's team, than Mourinho does of patching up the Moyes/LvG mess.

Well Chelsea finished even lower than us, but it doesn't mean they don't have quality or could rebound this season, City looked completely unmotivated the 2nd half of last year, after it was announced Pellegrini would leave at seasons end, they were so lackadaisical in one or two games that City fans were booing them off the pitch.

They still have a strong amount of talent in that squad, Pep just needs to get it out of them consistently, more than anything.

It was always on as soon as Mou was signed. He always spoke highly of United, Mou wanted him before and we have cash. Before the summer i said we would have a good chance and if Real dont want him, we would be in a good position. I expected Chelsea to be interested, but fancied our chances against anyone bar Real.

On Paper? If it happens it puts us maybe top 10 in Europe potentially. I'd go:
1. Barca
2. Madrid
3. Bayern
4. PSG
5. Juventus
6. Man Utd
7. Athleti
8. Man City
9. Chelsea
10. Dormund

I'd change the order a bit:

1. Bayern
2. Barca
3. Madrid
4. Atletico
5. City
6. Us
7. PSG
8. Juve
9. Chelsea
10. Dortmund

Names? And leave out the perma-injured ones.

The top half of their team looks formidable, Augero (Iheanacho) up top, De Bruyne, Sterling, Silva the 3 in-behind, Gundogan in mid.. I've seen worse. :D
They need to add a fullback and a CB to replace perma crock Kompany but they're not anywhere near bad as their position last season suggests.

The argument was always for me was not the squad players but the blue chip ones in Augero, Kompany and Silva being the 3 near to world class if not world class players in the City team (Although I would argue with Kompany as I think he's overhyped) and they also added KDB who has shown to be knocking on that level. But now for United we have DDG and Zlatan in the world class bracket and Martial and Shaw on level with KDB and new signing in MKT. Plus with the potential signing of Pogba it does add many more match winners to United. Not to forget Rooney who many have written off although I'm not so sure he's a spent force a return to form for him and United's team might actually be better than Cities 11 for first time in a few seasons.

So you name 3 perma crocks that will miss half the season and fecking Sterling? He's nowhere near good enough at this level mate.

And Silva has looked worse and worse for past two years.

And you somehow don't think a front 3 of Martial, Zlatan and Miky backed up by Pogba looks better?

Ok....

By the looks of it the only thing really standing in the way of this transfer is Juventus. I hope their board do the right thing and take the money. It's a lot.

Kenny is that not for most transfers? The opposing team have to agree?

Augero played 44 games last season and hit 30 goals and it was a shit season for him
Sterling is 21, just because he's had a bad season doesn't make him suddenly shite forever,
Think i'll drop this, clearly they're as shit as LvG's team and will be lucky to hit 4th this year. Carry on.

They will improve because Pep will replace Kompany, Hart & Toure with top players and he will buy a full back or two. Because he, like Mourinho isn't stupid enough to think that City or United just underperformed @BennyBlanco

We're in complete disagreement on Sterling, he's not even as good as Walcott in my eyes and unlike Theo is horrific in front of goal.

Is my post that obvious? We also haven't heard anything from pogba.

HaHa not sure, but think this looks like it is on. Guess we will find out in the next 10 days after the Euro final. Hopefully its sorted before Pogba goes on holiday or this board could meltdown!! Praying he has a quiet game tonight and Portugal wins.

---------------De Gea
Darmian--Smalling--Baily--Shaw
----------Schneiderlin
--------------------Pogba
-Mkhitaryan--Rooney--Martial
--------------Zlatan

Not a bad first XI, that. Just need Pogba.

Not a bad first XI, that. Just need the two in bold to make it happen.

again, Pogba is not good in a two-man midfield.

Robbie Fowler being bitter - Shocker!

"Fowler said Pogba has not shined at Euros and questioned what he brings"
I honestly think the Euro's are the first time some of these idiots have actually seen Pogba, cluless.

Sterling is a young player so like Memphis the second season will be the time to judge better. I think Hart will still be in goal and if Stones signs he is no upgrade at this moment than Kompany. Toure is a problem for Pep in my opinion. Plus I am hoping he doesn't get a tune out of Silva as he's been fading the last couple of seasons.

You think Hart will play the season? Not a chance for me, way too horrific with his feet for a Pep side.
