So apparently the guys over at the Italian Juve forum are putting us to shame,
To the journal entries, it is good that we begin to resign. Pogba will leave certamante for one, trivial, reason: Juve to date on the economic plan is a mid-priced club can not pay salaries comparable to those of the top teams . Since we can take maximum 6 net, elsewhere can as much as double. Pogba is now a superstar and we can no longer afford it, he'll ask for the sale, and if not he will Raiola who works for that. it is a bitter, sad reality. We can buy promising young, old samples in search of the last salary or strong players in roles with engagements Miniri (ie. Defense) but galactic superstars are out of our reach.

So much sense... Forgive google translate for the poor translation.

Certainly a lot more level headed than those cnuts on the English speaking forum

Essentially, Woody declared during the Moyes summer (I think) in an interview that he wanted to stop the best players in the world going to Spain, in order to cement us at the very top.

Well, here we are. This is it. If he ever wants to keep those promises, this transfer needs to happen.
As if it were up to Woody himself.

I'm just here to call the Spanish journalist whose name is mentioned in the thread title a ballbag.

Good day.

You guys saying he's overrated. The guy is 23 years old. He's won the serie A how many times? Played a CL final, had a good run with the NT. At 23. If France actually win the Euros, he'll even have a major international trophy on his resume. At 23. Alongside Antoine Griezmann and the usual suspects, he'll be a top 5 ballon d'or nominee. At 23.

Overrated. Sure.

...and we let him go for free :(

and will pay a 100 million

I didn't think we would get Pogba 2 week's ago but things change fast, I'm confident we can get this deal done now. My main concern in the last 2 days is that Real Madrid would creep into this race, that's not happened surprisingly. The Spanish ambassador Ballague has played down Madrid matching our offer.Marca have played everything down which is a great sign.

Every player has his price and Juve will sell if Pogba's up for it , this is still looking good. By Monday afternoon when the final is well over we will know for sure where this is going. Some people need to chill in here or call a muppet hotline for some counselling. This is no Schneider, Lucas Moura, Thiago or Vidal saga. Don't be worrying about Pogba not pushing a move, it's Madrid matching us. It's been an amazing window so far for us, positive signings. We are doing business well so far, like a different club compared to the last three summers.

I agree with this. If we wanna hang with the big boys (CL semis minimum every year), we got to act like the big boys (meaning we have to go into world record territory).

This is a statement signing. It has to happen.

My understanding is this has always been the case and previous offers have been rejected from a host of clubs. Will they reject 120euro is the next question.

I don't think United should offer more but maybe others feel different.

Giuseppe Marotta has said he admits there would be a time to sell Pogba but this summer isn't it. I think Pogba is the type of player to sign an extension with the agreement of the club to accept big offers so I don't think the fee would be less next year or year after. Pogba is probably happy to stay and happy to leave if the club wants to cash in. How much does Pogba push it and how much does the club listen.

I think it's time for Pogba payday.

This. We will do whatever it takes.

Its no bid to reject, as we are negotiating a deal. I have not read the Sky Italia news, but if they are saying that Juventus has reject us, its a bit premature tbh
I think they're saying Juventus is somehow getting ready to reject a 120M EUR deal when submitted by United after the Euro.

Sounds to me like Raiola is shopping him around to the only two clubs financially capable of buying him, in the hope of securing his €20 Million agent fee from the move.

I've no doubt he's briefing the press on the situation constantly trying to move things in his favour.

I hope we rename the pool.

Will Paul Pogba reunite with United this summer?

JuventuZ Meltdown (Yes)

RedCafe Meltdown (No)

Does Marotta want to reject a 120M EUR bid?
Their revenue is 324M EUR for 2015 (equity plus net debt) and their operating income is only 67M EUR.

Well, if Juventus is getting ready to reject it, I am surprised United and Raiola didn't check before submitting the request that this was the amount Juventus would go for.
Hence, the whole paradox here: why discuss, if you cannot say what you would accept? This is still a business at the end.
Hopefully Ed is good at it ;).

I wouldn't expect him to join us without CL football anyway, as long as we don't obsess over it like we did with Muller last year and move on to alternatives before the end of the month its fine.

100 million is too much.

For that kind of money we can buy 3 top class players. So unless Pogba has the potential of becomng the new Messi, and we know that won't happen since Messi was already scoring 80 goals a year at that age, he's not worth it.

Not in this market. £30m won't even get you Troy Deeney.

What an odd post. What 3 "top players" can we sign for 100 million? In what positions? Only top midfielder apart from Pogba still available this window is Kante, who wouldn't fix our issue of a lack of penetration from midfield. Pogba doesn't have the potential to be Messi because they're completely different players who occupy different positions. What midfielder scores 80 goals a year? Messi was a CF playing in the most dominant team in football history when he got those numbers whilst being in the form of his life.

Pogba is being bought for his marketibility, potential (to be up there with the best midfielders of all time if he works hard enough imo) and his complete skill set. Unlike a majority of other available midfielders Pogba is very good at everything, movement, passing, dribbling, shooting etc. He's not the finished article by any means but Jose will sort him out.

What did Jose say regarding our fourth transfer?
That the club, Mr Woodward, the Glazers and the board are working very hard to make it happen and "no way" it will be left as late as August 31st, it will be done much sooner.

Oh ok. I can't seem to find it. Thanks.
It's around the 10m mark on the youtube video of the presser, which is around 30m in legth total, on youtube. Seems really confident of this 4th signing and uses words such as "when it is done", "when we get him".

Are you trying to say if Messi at 23 years old is worth £100m? No way! More than that. About £200m. £100m for 23 years old Messi is considered to be a bargain in my view.

Ballbag is going to have trouble coming to terms with La Liga slipping from top spot.
The top managers are coming here, the small teams have mad spending power, players wages are going to be higher here.
This is before the over-seas rights hit the prem bank accounts.
Coupled with a more fair distribution of TV rights in Spain, and he sees the writing on the wall.

cnut!

Once either Messi or Ronaldo leave La Liga (or retire which will happen at some point the next few years its inevitable) nobody will care about that league anymore. It will be like the French league for most people. Do you think Sky will want Ballbag then trying to hype up getafe!?

He tries to make La Liga seem sophisticated but its appeal can be simplified down to 2 men.

The Premier League has much more going for it in terms of structure, money, honesty, integrity and actually the show The likes of Sky and Bt Sport put on is second to none.

If I was a top playing i would want to go to England as you have maximum exposure in Asia, America etc and treated like a god the women and press.

Signing zlatan on a free transfer give us the extra millions from the transfer kitty to spend on other areas, and in this case for pogba (most likely).

Plus we have already got micky for just 27million which looks like a steal at this moment.

100million is nuts when you think about it, but for a 23 year old midfielder, already one of the best, bound to be the face of adidas (neymar for nike) when ronaldo and messi slows down, and the most important thing make us better. Just try and get him.

£100M in this day and age is peanuts for a 23 year old with potentially 10+ years of service to this club. £10 a season isn't that what we paid for 1 season of Falcao!? If someone asked you would you loan Pogba for £10 a season you would snap their hands off ! Not to mention his marketing value for ethnic minorities and the face of Nike or Adidas in the future.

Nobody thinks Paul Pogba will fail, he was literally made to play in the Premier League with his size, athletism and pace. He is as guaranteed to succeed here as any signing I've ever seen.

Oh and the message it would send everyone the World is United is back, and would instantly make teams fear us again psychologically we will have them beat in the tunnel again ! That's worth it alone !

Money is not the issue.. Football lives in a different world to the rest
