Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

What are those guys at the Juventuz forum saying today?
Can we please keep the thread about Pogba and the possible transfer and not GlastonSpurs and that awful forum?

This thread was derailed yesterday and I cried a little bit as I wasn't getting enough Poggy news!

We aren't exactly notorious for selling our players at their true market value. Di Maria left for less than we bought him for with 4 years left in his contract.
That is because he was shite. If Pogba turns out shite, I can guarantee you, Madrid won't be in for him.

Me neither. I guess Ronaldo's sale made people think we cannot hold on to a world-class player for more than 3-4 years.

Selling Ronaldo looked back but then again, we had 6 great years. I think what maybe hurt us more was selling them Becks. It ended up unsettling Ruud who we basically gave away to Madrid. Pogba is a chance of redemption in some respects - but we need to climb back to the top.

He piped up yesterday for a bit of attention and now looks as if he's been told he's wrong and this is his get out.
In 24 hrs it's gone from Pogba personally ringing Zidane and don't count out Madrid to Pogba being United bound.
Well done Balague. Up there with no way Pep is joining Bayern ( announced the next day) and Alonso will not leave Madrid ( joins Bayern two days later)

you can add "LVG is staying at Old trafford as United manager" 2 days later JM signs as manager. It was a massive "Sky sports exclusive" on its own special page looool

Sounds about right.

It seems that by paying Raiola, we are opening a new door where we've never been, and most major clubs don't want to go: pay an extra transfer fee to the agent to make sure it happens (somehow). That's a dangerous game but let's hope it gets done for Pogba and Juventus is "forced" to sell, given the amount, how many chairs Mino throws, etc...

''Big'' clubs have been doing it for years, SAF just refused to do it. Progress or regress.

I'm sure we will and the fans need to shake off the feeling that Madrid could come in at any time and just take our best players as if we're their feeder club, when the reality is the only player we sold against our wishes was Ronaldo.

There were already multiple posts in the Martial thread about how Madrid will sign him. It's ridiculous.

Bale is a winger.
Pogba a CM.

Bale scoring 20 goals looks average compared to the numbers put up by Ronaldo and Neymare and Messi.

The only CM that scored more goals than Pogba right now is probably Yaya Toure, and that was Yaya at his prime.

As for taking games by the scruff of the neck. Bale played for a shit Tottenham team, whereas Pogba broke through at a pretty good Juventus team including CM players like Pirlo and Vidal.
Didnt Yaya play as a #10 that year when he scored that many goals?

Our fans have become so desperate now. It's sad site to see. Hopefully it doesn't happen.

Is Ballbag a Madrid fan? Every fecking tweet I've read about Pogba mentions us as second choice, as if we're forcing him to join us. We're Out-Madriding Madrid... must be some bitter people around!

Does any one notice that he plays too many high balls on the final third? Would that be effective in the Premier league?

he comes across very well especially revealing he was banished from the 1st team/reserves in training. And that clip was a few years back so it would have been a touchy subject for him

He's a Liverpool fan, hense his bitter tweets.

Someone on Bluemoon seems to think that spending this much is a sign that we are in trouble...

Surely it is the opposite? This is what our CEO has been desperate for for the last 4 years. It's not a sign we are in trouble, it's a sign that we can now outmuscle the likes of Real Madrid in the transfer market.

I'm convinced that Pogba will win a Ballon d'Or at some point if he comes to United. His talent is too massive and Mourinho just the kind of manager to harness it. Plus the team will be built around him which won't happen at Madrid with Ronaldo and Barca with Messi.

I don't it's impossible that he definitely want Madrid over United. The lure is much more to Madrid and it kinda makes sense. I like Pogba but I don't want us to spend big on another player whose heart isn't saying United.

Blague is very well connected. Real and Barca are the clubs all players want to play for, we all know this. They really are the next step for Pogba but they aren't ready to line Juve's pockets, Raiola's pockets and Poga's. He will stay here for a few years and Raiola will start angling for his next move. I just don't think it's a good transfer on so many levels.

The conditions in which fans are willing to take him reeks of desperation.
Just because certain fans (I.e. Me) are happy to spend any amount on a player of his quality doesn't mean we are desperate. I just think he's the perfect fit for the team and would be one of the final peices of the puzzle in making us a title winning team. If that makes me desperate then I'll happily accept it.

Meh, they are always going to try and put a shitter on it. They have been pining over him for the past year or two. I imagine there is a lot of jealousy going on there.

I don't think it matters what we pay for him. Mourinho wanted 4 players. He has got the first 3 and Pogba is the last one. We are not going to miss out on anyone for overspending on Pogba as we are not going to be in for anyone after this.

And the fact that we can pay £100+ million on a player is a sign of how much of a financial powerhouse we are.

Tell us what you don't like about Pogba Jaffy, is it the price, is that you don't rate him, what is it?.

Ah now I see, you don't want Pogba so those that do are desperate.... Much more clear now I must say

your theory is fine and has reason to it.... but what does it have to do with calling us that are happy that our pogba is coming back desperate

Do you not realize if he don't sign for Madrid, then his heart isn't playing for Madrid? It's even been said that his career plan included returning - which would mean leaving Madrid at some point......

People need to get over it.

You would think so but he isnt as reliable as you think he would be. The only major transfer he actually got right was Di Maria to United. He was the first to break that story.

It's football mate. It's a sport, an entertainment. If you're moaning about people possibly getting some joy from one of the most exciting young players joining the team they support for a lot of someone else's money, you should probably question if it's yourself that's a bit sad rather than them?

If Pogba doesn't want to come here; he shouldn't be forced. The last player who didn't want to come here was a certain Mr Di Maria. And we all know how that turned out.

It's not desperation. It's wanting the club we love to buy the best players. It's wanting to win trophies. It's wanting to compete at the very highest level of football. It's wanting to show the world that we really are as big a club that we keep boasting about. It's us flexing our financial muscle and saying "Look at us, we're loaded, we're relevant, fear us" And believe me, when we line up next season with Mourinho as manager and Ibrahimovic, Mkhitaryan, and Pogba in our team, other teams will fear us, for the first time in a long time.

Off course without knowing but based on my experience in business this is a done deal. All signs points at one direction without any real discrepancy.

Balague's Twitter more or less confirm its a done deal, on top of all the others who also confirm he's United bound.

My take on it is that Mino Raiola was our negotiater against Juventus. He tested the waters and got a confirmation about expected fee. Then it was up to Woody to accept or not. That's why he get such a hefty agent fee, well deserved IMO.

I have already expressed my take on Pogba the player and I stick with my initial thoughts that he has everything to succeed. When this is finalized I will celebrate with buying a new black Pogba shirt together with my blue Zlatan polo.
