Do you want Pogba for £100 million?

This poster doesn't realize how much the club makes in revenue compared to expenses. The reason we get some sponsorship is due to the money we spend on players. Not to mention they often sell loads of merchandise and increase ticket sales as well. No one will argue for spending 250M every offseason, but we can certainly afford at least 100.

We have a revenue over 500m euros, and less than 50% of it is spent on wages. Obviously, we have financial limitations but we can spend over 200m in players if we want. Like we did a couple of years ago.

You think we have 0 operating costs?

We can afford to spend money if needed.. but we cant keep spending hundreds of millions every season.

There are plenty of other expenses.
Apparently the Glazers will let us keep it all! they won't use any to service debt and they won't take any of the revenue to line their pockets! all about the football those glazers. No cash cow here

We pay around 20m per year in debt and less than that in dividents (in fact, only in one quarter we have payed dividents during Glazers ownership).

The cash cow has always been about making the club have a large value, and when they want, they sell stocks (which they have done multiple times). They realize that there is more money from that, rather than from dividents.

Facts don't suit the narrative though, will they? These are the guys that have allowed unprecedented spending over the last couple of summers and we've seen world record bids being thrown around by Woodward but no they are just leaches them yanks.

Unbelievable video. Anyone who has any doubts about the guys talent needs to watch this.

Anybody doubting Pogbas talent regardless of the price when we have had Fellaini playing there half the season is an idiot. He has always been an amazing talent from a kid that we pinched from Le Havre, to the youth player who was frustrated by lack of game time when Im sure he would have een getting that the following season with us but left free, to the already world class player at Juventus that can still get better. For me his talent has never been in question, you could question his attitude and loyalty....but in all honesty he hasnt really made any bad moves when you look at it from his point of view, league titles, champions league finals....would he have got that here?

I dont see an issue, bar injury if he proves to be a mercenary again we would get our money back pretty much either way I would have thought selling him again and talent wise he is already a better player than anything we have easily in our midfield. Only question is how he would fit in in the dressing room and with the manager, and surely half of that is already known.

We must also remember that it is net spending that matters. The transfer cost for Di Maria should be £65M - £54M or whatever the numbers were. The money spent on di Maria is thus £11M + administrative and solicitor fees providing my numbers are correct.

We have sold a few players during van Gaal. Though not comparable to what we have bought it still affects money spent on transfers.

A defencel orientated team should be more successful in the goals-against column that a more balanced or offensive team.
I don't follow this logic. So why doesn't Atletico Madrid lead the La Liga in goal difference then?

The urge to go full muppet about this is just too strong :( I am caught up in it now even though I know it wont happen

The M.E.N. and their clickbaity website are not helpful either!

That's a pretty long season compilation. Some great clips in there.

Scary combination of physical gifts and exceptional technique, playing on pure instinct. Along with Griezmann, Pogba is a player that would make me go full-muppet this summer.

25:00 onwards in this video

With Ibra coming, maybe we can sweeten the pot for Raiola by gifting him a year's supply of hot wings if he sends Pogba our way.

You don't understand that defensive teams should be more inclined to concede less goals?
OK!
Erm you just said that on goal difference defense oriented teams should do best. How come Atletico Madrid dosen't lead the la Liga then?

I still feel he's Madrid bound. He's the galactico signing they always crave and Zidane is an admirer.

No he didn't.. He said in the goals against column. Atletico did have the best record in the goals against column.

Will end up in Spain. I just dont see him coming to the prem. He's spoken about Pep, admitted he admires Conte, Jose likes him, but Madrid and Barca have that little bit more pull

Where?
Just as an aside..
I've seen plenty of people referring to us having the equal best defensive record in the league.
This does not mean we have a good defence.
We have a goalie that saves in situations that usually result in goals, but more importantly, we were playing defensive, risk-averse football.
A defencel orientated team should be more successful in the goals-against column that a more balanced or offensive team.
How good would that defence be when exposed more, by playing a more expansive system?
I wouldn't want to trust it.

Is there actually any sort of truth to us being linked to him?

I have no doubt both Woodward and Mourinho would want him here, the issue is:

1. Would he want to come back with no UCL
2. Will Juve want to sell

I'd say at least one of those above is a no at the moment

Just can't see us signing him. Would be a great signing though. Initially I was sceptical, mainly because of the amount we would be spending on a player we used to have, however who says he would have developed as well at United and he just has to be seen the same as any other player.

Well said.
Forget the past. Grab a top player with both hands.

You should've put Pogba under the 'something borrowed' bracket and gone full muppet with Griezmann as 'something new'

I watched all 28 minutes of it. What a footballer. Can't believe we couldn't keep him.

We should go break the records on him. Hope the club doesn't let ego cloud their judgement- he is clearly going to be the best midfielder in the world, if not there already.
Those 80-100 million will fetch us titles again.

Just a thought. I've seen various rumours today that United have approached Barca twice in recent weeks regarding Messi. Normally I would write these rumours off as ridiculous, however Neymar turned out to be true last season.

I know that Barca are also interested in Pogba.

Given what has happened in recent seasons with United declaring an interest in Neymar and Ramos, and as a result both players had a stronger position to negotiate a pay rise given wide spread knowledge of United's wealth and got those contracts. I feel this may be a clever game by Woodward.

Barca apparently may have difficulty already with their current wages for the big 3 with FFP. If Messi then wishes for an even bigger deal that could take Barca completely out of the race for Pogba due to affordability.

Plus the price of oil rises and we will never be able to get to Mars to meet our fellow species!

So wait a second... Now United fans are supposed to be grateful that the unwanted owners who acquired the club for no other reason than to line their own pockets have finally, after years of frugality, sanctioned the spending of money the club generated itself!?

You'd think we were surviving on free transfers as a poor little plc and not breaking transfer records...

I am thankful that they have helped us become a global commercial super power which allows us to spend so much.

What on Earth were we doing to let this guy go... You would struggle to put together a compilation as good as that that for all of our players combined this season.
