Paul Pogba / turned down United offer of 300k as “nothing”

Juventus finish 3rd in their CL group.

We qualify from our EL group.

Get drawn against Juventus. James Garner completely overshadows him in a 8-2 aggregate win for us and does an Ashley Young special on him at Old Trafford.

What happened after he refused to sign on 300k/w? We've withdrawn the offer and he was left with nothing?

If that's true and he signed with Juve for half of that, surely he's the one who looks like a fool now? Especially that's it's been clearly about the money. Not sure I have the whole picture though.
He’s got the same offer as we offered him, ours was pre tax

So he’s accepted an offer for half the money each week and accused us of offering him nothing at 300k a week, what a parasite. That means he didn’t want to stay and only money would have swayed him, I’m glad we didn’t get him to extend, not worth the money or the circus that follows him. Constantly injured and out of form.

I’ve really gone off him lately

seems an arsehole

The club did the best thing tbh, not giving in to his demands was the way to go. Even if he turns into the best CM in the world, the decision not to renew him would still be the best one

Must admit I can't bring myself to dislike Pogba. A man of immense talent but such a waster. I like him though, he was an inspiration when he brought the dab to my attention... Something I enjoyed doing for an hour a few years ago.

In fact I'm doing the dab right now in honour of his time here.

and some on here backed Pogba over Mourinho

Rightly so.

It was never Jose vs Pogba, it's a battle created by media and Jose fans. It was Jose vs entire dressing room or entire club except very few.

fecking cnut the lad, I dislike everything he represents not racially but sport wise, he's the main reason the club never progressed over the years, thank fecks he's out of our club. fecking Virus!!
Thanks for clarifying, for a moment I was worried you might be racist

All this bollocks about showing United what they're missing. Even if he plays brilliantly at Juventus it will have no bearing on how he would have continued to play at United.

I was really excited when he returned to United and thought that he'd be great for us, but how wrong can you be.

Apart from a couple of good performances he's been really poor and it's been his lack of effort and commitment that's pissed me off more than anything.

Glad he's leaving and couldn't give a shiny shite how he performs at his next club.

Things don’t happen in a vacuum. The Athletic reported Pogba and Ole had a great relationship - with him wanting to renew and Ole wanting him to renew - Ole appealed at the hierarchy to get it done - it wasn’t. He didn’t feel valued. When United did try - he was no longer interested (for more factors than just money).
Bless, so he’s going to pull the Yaya Toure card and say he didn’t feel wanted enough. How about actually playing well for more than 3 games a season? Then someone might be arsed about the thought of him leaving. It’s on him to earn that next contract, not the club. The club were right to deliberate, he’s been cack for ages.

To be honest, I think I’m good on exchanging more posts with angry people, that don’t even know what exactly is they’re angry about.
I’ll be honest, you sound a lot more worked up than most in here but fair enough
??? what is a big problem?

Pogba is just not suited to a long gruelling PL season. He is a cup player the way some teams are cup teams. When the weather got bad he was off to Dubai for his annual mid winter break for 2months.

I hope ETH wanted him gone. I'd be worried over his judgement if he wanted Pogba to stay.

Can we lock this thread and allow fans the opportunity to try to forget that we ever wasted over £100m on this lazy layabout.

#Pogoff

He gets paid the same at Juve as with United. But that's just a simple thinking, trying to rile up people.
He (and his agent) must get a much bigger signings fee as a free transfer also.

He did us a favor.

Immensely talented, but his performances here were not worth the drama in the end.

Wasn't to long ago he was praising us and saying what a privilege it was to play for utd, shows you all you need to know about him, I hope he flops at Juve but he will probably turn out to be world-class

Sounds as if he only has nice things to say about us. Always classy Poba is.

Still ‘nothing’ to him apparently

Very true. I'm glad this obvious PR wankfest of his seems to be backfiring.

Having said that, they're probably lapping it up over in Italy, even if he is a glorified Aaron Ramsey replacement.

To show how unremarkable this documentary is, this is the part they've leaked to drive traffic and promote it's release. They've basically tried to piggyback off the United fanbase one last time to draw attention to what is likely to be a complete borefest.

Pogba has nothing to sell. A footballer who plays very little football and isn't even that great at it has no need for a documentary. Nothing in his personal is particularly interesting either.

He seems desperate to expand his brand in the states and outside Europe. He's been completely irrelevant since the Euros and before that the World Cup. His star is declining as is his paycheck and this documentary was one last desperate attempt to keep his name relevant.

Can we please lock all pogba threads. Just seeing his name is depressing. The sooner we forget him the better

Whoever offered him £15.6 million annually must have rocks in their head unless at least 60% of it was performance based. I still don't believe City were ever after him - his attitude is literally the opposite of what Pep wants.

This is as good a read on his mindset as any I’ve read. His brand is more important to him as his legacy as a player. Which is sad and somewhat reflective of a lot of pro athletes these days.

Was never good enough for the Premier League. Lazy ass midfielder. And despicable attitude. Virus. Happy he is eradicated.

When you don’t play much football due to injury, and when you do you’re fairly average, the only thing left to sell to clubs is the idea that you’re a commercial juggernaut and will make them money just by signing you.

This is the only thing he’s got left to cling to, and hopefully the United fans he’s targeting with this documentary don’t even bother watching it

I was so happy when we signed him. I even bought a Jersey with his name on it. Embarrassing

Hes done absolutely nothing to demand 300k+ wages pw. Regularly injured for big chunks of the season, almost always invites drama when hes on intl duty and even when he did play he wasnt dropping 8-10/10 performances. So talented but comes with so much drama and baggage that I'd much rather prefer fred over him. Glad we got rid

I am just glad he is gone. The sad thing about his comments is that they don't surprise me . Pogba is a legend in his own head and will go down in history as a player that should of done more.

The whole rubbish that pogba was mr professional and a good lad and that it was all his greedy agents fault for creating such negative and unsettling stories around the club.

Seems like all this documentary will do is unveil pogba as a self entitled snake.

I hope united fans have the sense not to watch this self indulgent rubbish, without being associated with united the documentary would definitely get half of it's audience

Mino Raiola was trying to play a game were his top players would let their contract run out only to demand from that club the same salary/conditions as if they were signed as free agents. He tried it with Donnarumma and then with Pogba. Thank god both Milan and United showed him the middle finger.

Are you actually that dense that you don't understand why some people would be annoyed by a footballer describing a wage of £300k per week as "nothing"? Even if you don't personally feel the same way, the concept is just totally alien to you?

I'm not criticizing him for rejecting the offer as he is free to do what he wishes and has obviously thought about how much he is worth. However, a 300k per week wage offer is substantial and to be dismissed like that indicates a real degree of entitlement.

Again, my question was - “what has he done wrong here?” Are you that dense that you keep conflating that with “I don’t know why people are annoyed?”

For clarification - you initiated the name calling here simply because you’re struggling with something simple, despite my appeals at objectivity.

I don’t know what he’s going to do. I don’t know him. I also don’t know why you’re saying these things to me. They have nothing to do with my posts or what I asked

I’ll be honest, you sound a lot more worked up than most in here but fair enough

“???” that’s confusion not me worked up. mostly because you just keep saying random things to me that have nothing to do with my posts - like saying something is a big problem, which I still don’t know what is a big problem or for whom - go read your initial reply to me

Pogba where to start, how about the EL Cup Final when Jose done his nut at Pogba not trying to help the midfield defend - so he hooked him, and was the most disgusted manager to win a trophy since Fergie won the scottish cup final against then Rangers

Then came the full fall out and most blamed Jose but you could see it was Pogba at fault but by this time he had the dressing room in his pocket and Jose by then gave up and started looking for a way out - which duly happened and he pocketed a nice pay off

I said on my twitter account that day we will never win the title with Pogba and if we ever did I would give £1,000 to charity

I noticed that when he played for France he was supposed to be a world beater but as few have said if he doesn't have a Kante next to him to do all the hard graft and defending you get the Pogba that we got at Man Utd, the show pony prancing around the pitch like a dressage horse not putting a shift in to help his team

He was a guy of self importance that only cared about himself, he allowed his agent to say all sorts of stuff that denegrated the Man Utd name and never once pulled him up over it

He has taken Lingard, Martial and possibly Rashford down the same route as him not caring anymore about the club

We are well rid of him and it's time this club got it's ethos back about working hard for each other doing the best you can and leaving every ounce of energy you have on the pitch and stop all this thinking players have made it cause they earn over £200,000 a week and turn in diabolical perfomances week after week
